Great opener. Though I'm sure it's not going to change anything and within 2-3 eps everything will be back to normal House.

I certainly hope they don't go back to business as usual after that.
Awesome season premiere. I was expecting to be treated to House turning the place upside down, pretending to change, screwing everyone over and being the same person at the end of the episode. Surprised to see they actually changed him somewhat. Let's hope the rest of the season is as good.
All I can say is, I'm fucking glad we're getting new regular episodes. None of this "'eh, one/two episodes a month" bullshit like they did in the past.
Next week's episode looks to be full of lulz.
Over the course of the series House has always gone back to being House just with a slightly different spin. Almost every season has had some effect on House's personality in some way. But House is at his core that sarcastic, witty mean medical genius so he always goes back to that.
waste of cake, he is an ass[H]ole
Damn, that was a great way to start the season. Felt almost like a completely new show, in a good way. Seems we'll be getting back into the usual medical groove next week which should be good too.
As a person who works in the population, there were some cringes in that episode from a psych standpoint (You NEVER EVER attempt to break down a patient's delusion in any unsafe environment and as bluntly as that young psych doctor did >.> ) but all in all, an excellent show. Here's to a productive season!
Pretty surprised at the overall positive review that the episode got from you guys. I thought that the first half was great, worth the wait, etc., and the second half after the guy jumped out of the window was extremely lackluster/stupid/boring/not like House.
The season preview looked GREAT though, so I'm really excited for next week. I personally hope it is business as usual but with the new spin, because that's what I like. And...as much as I love House, I love the other characters just as much and it was a bit sad that they weren't in the premiere too.
Im dissapointed that he didnt play the piano at all.
He played it once but not for long.
He played it for about 10 seconds and then they wheeled in the guy who jumped.
The second part was more about character development and actually progressing House's character (which I personally enjoyed) so that the rest of the season has something to play off of. I doubt they could have accomplished that by having your typical House episode like the first part was more of.
Um, probably 95-99% of the show is completely false in how things work, ever seen them do CPR? It's a freaking joke lmao. You shouldn't ever look at it from that perspective or critique it on that.
Judging by the preview of next week, they are right away.I certainly hope they don't go back to business as usual after that.
Yeah there's websites dedicated to pointing out the medical mistakes in House. For example: Medical Reviews of House - Most of it is above my head, but for some reason I find it interesting to read after each episode.
People watch House and hope for 100% medical accuracy? O_o
^ haha
<_<;
CPR is rarely done right on shows for one simple reason. If you locked out your elbows and did chest compressions to the correct depth and tempo, you would seriously fuck up your fellow actor when they didn't actually need it (the least of their worries would be cracked ribs). The only time I've seen it done right I just assume they are using the actor's head and a dummy/prop chest to do compressions properly.
I would be shocked if a show did something more "current" like hands-only CPR.
[Edit: I liked the episode tonight. Some people may think it was stupid for the guy to jump off the parking garage, but that just shows there are real consequences for House's actions. It didn't seem contrived.]
I missed the first 30 min. of it, but for the rest of it I enjoyed it.
