Well at least it's not permanent. Kutner was probably the best character in the show besides House himself.

Goddamnit. All these House actors/actresses need to stop getting other work so we don't have to miss out on them.

I didn't like the episode. I like the fact that Cuddy/House are finally getting together, but meh, the way it was done was boring. The whole part at Princeton was such an afterthought this whole episode unless I missed something, and I thought that was stupid. What was the point of the crane driver? Also, why for the first time in six seasons did we come so emotionally attached to House's patient, other than the loss of her leg?

I feel like they were trying to force an emotional episode, and it ended stupidly and predictably. Honestly they can't come up with something more original than House going back to vicodin if Cuddy wasn't there to save the day? Sigh. Worse season finale of this show for me. Needs more Amber dying season finales plz.

I felt it was the subtle things that made it great. Like him becoming attached to her because of things she said. She was talking about how she thought doing good deeds would bring good to her. But in the end a crane fell on her. House at the same time was trying to do good things with his life and he got shit on for it.

That husband must've kept his pimp hand strong because she was crushed by a crane and all she could think about was that he was goin to beat her because she never got to wish him a happy birthday.

We're behind so only just saw this episode this week - I agree it wasn't the strongest one out there and I'm not sure I want Cuddy to get together with House - I like them best when he's flirting while she rolls her eyes despairingly at him as usual, hopefully they're not going to go down the mushy plot route of her "saving" him or something next season.

On one hand, they made that moment as empathetic as they possibly could. House not strong enough to deal with a total loss with someone he completely opened up to, but winds up being supported by the opportunity to connect with someone he's wanted to for a very long time. All in all, very moving.

On the other hand... House finally got Cuddy, which means the show joins every other TV program in history with the sexual tension finally resolving itself.

I'm mixed. I'll need time to process.
Skipping two pages of replies to address this a bit.

I watched the episode last night (finally), and the first thing that came to mind after I let it process was how House the series will periodically bring in an outside antagonist in an arc.

It was Vogler and Tritter so far, and I could see the Princeton Board of Directors becoming the new "outside" antagonist to fight against the fact that Cuddy spent 6 years backing House for no real good reason. Now they would have ammunition that she was harboring an affair or whatever. We really don't see much of the Board, or their direction as it impacts the hospital.

Coming back to this, I really hope they do have an antagonist for him this season. Some of my favorite moments of the series was watching the back and fourth of House between Tritter / Volger and to an extent his Ex-Wife and Amber (Dead or Alive). Lucas could have made an amazing antagonist last season if they decided to go that route. Although, I can see next season working well without one since we've never seen House in a relationship or parenting role (House taking care of a baby? Oh man...)

House taking care of a baby would be beyond boring.

I enjoyed the antagonists of this show, and would LOVE for them to bring another one on board. Its why I love DEXTER so much =(

Bump because this summer hiatus is entirely too long.

    1) Lin-Manuel Miranda who played Alvie has been busy creating and starring in the Broadway musical In The Heights, which just won a Tony for Best Musical. A 300-man flash mob surprised him to congratulate him recently, and I thought it was incredibly awesome (can't help it; I'm addicted to flash mobs, and Alvie was awesome).

    2) Multiple behind-the-scenes set photos from the first episode new season - super-SPOILERY:

    3) FRY AND LAURIE REUNION GO!

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertain...s/10389065.stm

Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie are to reunite for a TV special to mark the 30th anniversary of their partnership

The programme, to air on TV channel GOLD this autumn, will see the former double act reminisce about their friendship, careers and sketches.

Jon Favreau is to direct an upcoming DreamWorks/Universal screen adaptation of the comic. Robert Downey, Jr. was initially in talks to star as Jake Johnson[1][2], but the role has subsequently gone to Daniel Craig[3] due to scheduling issues on Downey's behalf[4]. Olivia Wilde is in negotiations to play Ella.[5] Noah Ringer has also been cast in the adaption; he is set to play Emmett.[6] Harrison Ford also has a role in the film.[6] Sam Rockwell has also joined the cast, reteaming with Favreau after Iron Man 2.[6] Adam Beach has been confirmed to take on the role of Nat Colorado.[7] The script was written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Damon Lindelof.[6] Kurtzman, Orci, Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, and Brian Grazer are producing.[6]
probably gonna be better than the title sounds

Ok so I finally watched the last 9 or so episodes tonight.

First off... "The Choice". Why does the potw have to be gay or straight (and not bi) and why did the bisexual have the biggest problem with it. I also liked that they only brought up HIV after the possibility arose that he was gay.

My other gripe was with the end of the finale.
    Spoiler: show
Cuddy magically showing up out of nowhere was bullshit. I kept hoping to see him in a vicodin coma as the last shot. What happens when he's not in need or in pain anymore?

On a positive note, the karaoke scene with Chase/Foreman/House was awesome.

Not sure why I spoilered that after 2 1/2 months but oh well.

Where did you catch the last 9 or so episodes?

I'm having trouble finding white collar, rescue me, and house @ decent enough qualities on streams.

Because that's how the character was written. Dude was homo, then decided to go hetero, and had trouble coming to terms with his past.

And it's been a while since I saw the episode, but I remember that Thirteen had a problem with the patient because he resented his past persona, and wanted to erase that part of his life. She had a problem with his indecision and his inability to come to terms with his lifestyle, not with the fact that he was either gay or straight.

And the HIV thing is statistically significant in the medical world as it pertains to the homosexual community. The stories are always written like that. Generalization about gender/race/geographical location/profession/living arrangements/lifestyle choices = statistically significant medical suggestion.

    Ain't no thang.

That was my point. They wrote him so he had to be gay and then had to be straight. Granted, writing it any other way took out the conflict they were trying to build but the whole thing came across as poorly written to me. Not once was the subject of bisexuality even broached, which is why 13 of all people lambasting him for not 'making up his mind' or not deciding what he wanted seemed out of place.
