He did it because he'd been receiving ample evidence that House's addiction was going to destroy everyone he worked with. He saw Cuddy after House viciously ripped into her and Chase after House socked him for proving him wrong. It was Wilson's idea for house to go cold turkey for a week in season 1 so it's no surprise Wilson's the one intervening here.

And House stole his sandwich :D

The problem isn't House's addiction directly. But House going through withdrawals. House gets worse and worse when he's not on his pills, this was covered when Cuddy made a bet with him a season or two ago and Foreman was like "take them before you kill this guy" because House couldn't focus on the case. Since Cuddy isn't giving him enough pills he's having major problems. What I don't get is why Cuddy is doing that, she should know from past experience the effect it has on him. As well, no one is fully standing up for House to the cop, just doing the bare minimum to not give him up (well, until Wilson last episode).

I'm really not sure how it'll be resolved. Is it going to be another stint of House being 'cured' but a few episodes later he returns to the pills? Is someone major going to leave the show? House being humbled...sure, he might need it, but that's part of his character and why he's amazing. He can only do his risky practices because he's confident, House is useless as a pussy.

I'm pretty sure House is going to jail. They'll probably spend an episode or two of him in court/jail, then fast-forward a month to him being on probation, kind of like how they fast-forwarded past the 'shit what really happened after House got shot?' bits at the start of the season and the morphine red herring.

What I find interesting though is that Hugh Laurie really did get addicted to vicodin in order to better get in the character of Gregory House.

I don't think that House will go to jail, but only to rehab. I mean it isn't hard to see that House is the best thing that hospital has, and him being in jail spells trouble for the others. At least if he's in rehab he could still help patients from the sidelines.

I do like this correlation they are continuing between Sherlock Holmes and House, right down to the addiction (he was addicted to cocaine and morphine, usually having his addiction "sleep" at times, making the reader think he was cured for the moment) The similarites are awesome and uncanny, and it helps with the plot development.

LOL Amen. I often want to just punch the shit out of my TV for no apparent reason when I see him. What I find amazing about Hugh Laurie is that the accent he uses on House is not his own. If you have ever heard him talk normal he has a very, very thick British accent. It is simply remarkable when you hear him outside of the confines of the show. I will try to find a youtube clip of him on the late late show with Craig Ferguson for anyone who hasn't heard him.

i agree. it really shows his talent as an actor, because the accent he uses in the show is so flawless, there is no way to tell its not his own lol.

Yeah, I was surprised at the actor's true accent. Watched the extras on one of the season DVD sets, and was watching for the accent in every episode. He does a very good job.

God I loved last Tuesday's episode, when House flips a shit and calls Cuddy a terrible mom and causes her to cry, that was like the first time since.... ever, that I was actually deeply moved by anything on TV Can't wait for Tuesday.

Also, Blackadder is fucking hilarious, it's Hugh Laurie AND Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean), how could you not love it!?
