Thought the pills were lost when the other group came in and moved him from the bed ;x

I didn't think he wanted to die until he was told he had cancer? He seemed fairly perky until that point, in fact I almost got the impression #13 was flirting with him somewhat when she gave him the pills. Hot doctors are always an excuse to live. 8)

Yeah my bad, he got the pills way earlier in the episode than I remembered, like 8 minutes in. Plus they had a close-up of the dog as the guys lifted the patient to the bathroom, so the pills were probably eaten by the dog then.

Pills (clear cup in the red circle next to the silver thing, can't see it too well) are still there when Kumar enters the room, look to still be on the cart when he moves the tray, and where he left it, it would have been easy for the dog to get on the bed and eat the pills.

Kind of odd that the writers would leave a plothole like that, but whatever.

he asked for the water and fake swallowed them, then he gave them to the dog. how is that a plot hole?

they wouldn't show it cause it would spoil the whole episode

like I mentioned, the pills were given to him in the beginning of the episode, before he had choked, been given the bugs, had his blood turn green, etc. The electrocution guy hadn't even shown up yet, and later in the episode he was having fun and laughing on the tilt table. It's way too early for him to have wanted to die.

He never really got the water... the dangly bits team took him away for a shit smear before he could take the pills/water. I'm assuming when Kumar moves the table they fall then the dog eats them.

That's lame, and way too easy of an out for the show's producers.

I also love how this guy will forever be Kumar. Kumar was also on 24. :D

it's impossible to know a persons feelings (specially when they are fake lol) for not knowing him for very long. i could hazard a guess that maybe since he was in the hospital for his disease so often, he just got tired of it and didn't want anymore help than he could control (the pills).

i would think that if he wanted to live, he would have told any one of the doctors that he never got to take the pills they gave him cause the dog got to them first.

A plot hole is a gap in a storyline that goes against the flow of logic set-up by the plot or that undermines the basic premises of the story. While many stories have unanswered questions, unlikely events or chance occurrences, a plot hole is one that is essential to the story's outcome.

i know... but just labeling it a plot hole cause it doesn't explain everything in full (which would have made the whole episode moot btw) is a lazy man's excuse that requires no thinking.

*edit* i think i'm in one of those situations where i'm debating a point that no one is arguing against... please forgive me if that's the case. i'm a little slow in the brain

Saying it isn't a plothole because you can think of a handful of situations (that don't fit the general theme of the rest of the episode) in which the ending could have come about is stupid. It is a plot hole, not because it doesn't explain everything, but because it doesn't explain things that are central to the plot. Arguing that hinting about the pills would have made the ending predictable just means that the script was fucked and should have been rewritten.

    Re: House

I dunno, I didn't find the "dog ate the pills" thing believable even before we get to wondering about when the pills were misplaced. A dog is unlikely to eat them off the ground in the first place (they don't really smell like food, even given that a dog's definition of "food" is broader than ours), and a dog with extensive specialized training like that one is definitely going to have something basic like "don't eat random objects off the floor" in its repertoire. :/

Other than that though, enjoyed the episode.

My dog has tried to eat pills before, though it's possible that seeing-eye dogs are trained to not do that.

I was talking to a friend about this when we were discussing the episode. He said that a well trained dog like that wouldn't have picked the pills off the floor. It's likely that his master often would drop things and being unable to pick them up himself the dog would have been trained simply to pick items off the floor - or at least not to eat them. For an extremely well trained dog to randomly eat something dropped on the floor is out of character.

Remember the episode where House got Wilson's dog? The dog ate the pills on the floor there - but that dog would chew everything. This dog was completely opposite that, so it's a stretch to believe it would have eaten them, but not impossible I guess.

The same friend also said that House shouldn't have been able to electrocute himself the way he did. Something about not being grounded. /shrug. Plotholes galore!
