Well does it ever say which hospital she works at? Wilson said she was on call, and she ended up getting taken to Princeton General (closer to the accident perhaps?).

In the next episode preview there was something about someone accusing House of having an affair with Amber but I forget who said it, probably Wilson though.

I just watched the episode again last night, when House is hypnotized House tells Wilson to get his girlfriend out of his head, and Wilson says that she better not be naked. House mumbles "unfortunately" and rolls his eyes, and then says he didn't mean to say it out loud. Wilson tells him he didn't say anything out loud, so House dismisses it.

I'm still going with my affair theory.

Amber actually is sick, and dying, and its not from the bus crash. How House recognized this fact is the real question. He was likely having an affair, since it is mentioned multiple times during the next episode preview.
