This is why House is such a great show. One week is hilarious and the next, which ties in to the funny episode is serious and dramatic. I hope they get back to House being a doctor though, Cuddy should have him all fixed up by next week!

I really doubt it will last long, I mean come on, it's House. Remember what happened to his ex wife? It will be the same deal, probably go back to popping pills in no time. Unless they want to end the series soon?

Except House isn't a sociopath. As a behavioral therapist, I see a lot in House's behaviors that I see in many of the clients and cases I have worked on over the years. House can be a lot more vicious than he acts but he's always had a filter (which he has let slip before with Cuddy when he was going through his last detox) because he does cares about others in his own (somewhat twisted) way, no matter how much he hides it. Sociopaths, on the other hand, are mostly CEOs since their personality is geared toward stepping over others for complete wish fulfillment. Relationships and love are simply advantageous opportunities and House has never shown interest in those contests. House is content in his own little world of solving puzzles and playing games with those closest to him. Hallucination Amber is his unconscious ID/desires without restraint. This is the House House is afraid of.

The writing btw for this story arc has been brilliant. With Amber going from a pleasant, helpful partner to a very sinister, very dangerous half was a masterful stroke.

Last few episodes of House have been great. This whole season didn't really grip me at all (consider how awesome season 4 was). It was just something to watch on monday, but lately it's been really good. Writer changes?

Great episodes, but y'all are wrong about Amber. She sucked when she was introduced, and was annoyed to see her back. Glad she's gone again. She's just hard to listen to. =/

I don't think they'd ever take her off the show, but I really believe they'll never put her in a real relationship with House. She actually gave an interview stating that they could never make a relationship between her/House b/c it just wouldn't work with his personality, etc.

Ok so we finally watched the last three episodes.

The Chase/Cameron episode was pretty good. It was kind of funny that my wife and mother-in-law kind of zoned out at the very end thinking it was just another happy closing montage, only to have Amber pop up.

I loved the bachelor party episode. Chase's 'kidnapping' was great. I really liked how they turned Amber around from a helpful/quirky thing to a helpful/evil thing.

Last week's episode was solid but it was the weakest of the three for me. Once Cuddy knew about the detox there was no reason to keep the team in the dark.
