Impressive end to the season.Spoiler: show
I have no idea how much of that to spoiler, but basically House and Wilson had a threesome with Foreman and the show jumped the shark.
Haven't seen the season finale, but I feel like I have to note something. I love this show, but the beginning of most episodes seem somewhat predictable lately. They always try to trick us into thinking one person has the problem, when it's someone else. <_<
Your post is trying to trick me into thinking it has when it hasn't, I see what you did there! (But you're right)

I have to admit, I was only half paying attention to the entire episode until near the end. As soon as House snapped in the last 5 minutes, I suddenly looked up and had a huge WTF moment. Need to go back and watch the entire episode now, I couldn't believe they ended it with House so completely screwed up.
which one had the bigger WTF revelation moment: this house episode or sixth sense?
I was under the impression it was the next day because they hadn't officially called the wedding off. Miss hottie even said something along the lines of 'Well I never canceled our original wedding plans'. It was the perfect counterpoint for the house/wilson scene imo.
I love everything that happened with Saul, perfect actor to play the part.
The only thing I wonder about is when house realizes it was cancer, he tells Taub to stay with him, which was pretty nice for house. Was that real or did he just tell Taub to take him?
The entire episode was a great mind fuck. I intend to buy this season when it comes out on DVD, even though I don't have the rest of them. This season was just great on many levels.
I thought the season got great eventually. The mid point (which arguably happens with all seasons) was really dull and basically just case after case, but the later parts were amazing. I dunno which season finale rates higher, season 4 or season 5. I might have to go with 5 because it's fresh in my mind and we all love a good mind fuck.
It's probably safe to think that all of the actions House took within this episode were real, its just the interpretations of them that were wrong. House was doing all of the things that he did because of his imagined night with Cuddy. House tells Wilson what "happened", and Wilson of course has no reason to disbelieve what he is told. House seems sincere, in his House-like way, and is obviously troubled. So they're both acting on false information without knowing it. Only Cuddy is working from different info, but we don't find that out until the very end.Originally Posted by Anamanagucci

When House tells Taub to stay with the old man... He is a bit in shock about how monumentally he screwed up. How could he miss this? What else is he missing? He is right in the middle of processing what has been bothering him all this time. He knew something was off (staring at the coffee cup, at the lipstick), but he couldn't quite grasp what it was.
But -why- does House tell Taub to stay with him? It's hard to say. He's been building himself towards being a real person (caring about Cuddy), maybe this just happens, as part of that. He completely missed the diagnosis, maybe in disbelief and regret at this, he makes sure what's left to be done can be done properly. There is also a sense of "make sure you take care of this, because I won't be back to check"... At this moment, House doesn't quite know what's going on, but he's almost figured it out, so maybe part of him suspects. Of course, part of him knew all along, didnt it?
(gonna chime in and add also- Love Amber in this so much. Brrr!)
Agreed! I stopped watching House in season 4 because I hated her that much (and I've suffered some pretty annoying characters for TV shows I love), but after the season 4 finale (which I was nagged into watching), I really liked her - and then when they brought her in for these hallucination sequences, I was totally sold. Enough so that I even went back and watched the season 4 episodes I skipped last year.
I still don't like her in season 4, but I'm forever grateful that I got to see the hilarious episode where House realizes Wilson's basically dating him.
If the wedding happened later then Wilson would have been there. I was cool with the weather differences. It was a solid metaphor for the mood of the two scenes and made for a much more imposing final sequence. Also, it always rains when Wilson drives, so that was a given. I just felt the wedding wasn't given the time and impact it deserved in order to force it into the standard musical montage.
I think it will be interesting if Wilson's brother is in that hospital. Would also explain the weather differences since it was a long drive off.
I'm just saying it didn't have to be the "VERY NEXT DAY" like the guy said. Obviously Wilson took House there while everyone was at the wedding. That doesn't mean it wasn't a couple days later or on the weekend. I'm not sure how far away the hospital was supposed to be but they made it seem off in the middle of nowhere, so it could have taken time to drive to, while everyone was at the wedding.
My only point was that the wedding/House's admittance wasn't really forced imo and was well done. Too many people try to pick small comments apart.
I probably missed it but what was the importance of the Deodorant?
The deodorant was causing the guy to become sick. The deodorant caused his heavy sweating and he used the same deodorant because of the sweat. I think the right (or was it left?) side of his brain was maybe trying to tell him that and became violent when people approached him with the can of deodorant.
Yeah, I didn't see the big deal about his vicoden addiction (wasn't really important until a couple episodes ago) so as long as House is the same without it and can still do his job, I think it's ok if he isn't dependant on it anymore.
He can be perfectly miserable without it.
I liked that couple episodes back in Season Whatever where House was running and being happy because his leg was cured (Season 3 beginning I guess?). It's always kind of refreshing when he's in a good mood vs. in his usual sarcastic hilarious mood. Next season will be so good can't waitttt.
