The Slow % formula is ( 100 + (0.2 x MND differences) + 13.68 ) /100, iirc.Originally Posted by Darkblood

Which is also useful for determining exact mob stats.Originally Posted by qatsi2
e.g. you know your MND, and through timing the mob's attacks, you can find out the Slow %. Then your MND = (mob's MND) +500 * Slow% - 568.4
Most people have no idea how to play their jobs so your RDM probably wasn't even using +MND gear. In which case, yes, Hojo 2 is (significantly) better than Slow 1.Originally Posted by Darkblood
Ahh, I see. Thanks for the clarificationOriginally Posted by Khamsin
I suppose you should probably swap your MND and the mob's MND in that equation to get the most use out of it, now that I think of it.Originally Posted by Darkblood
That is good to know, i've been trying to figure out what's the best setup to max def down something after a THF feints on it to allow melees to do the most damage in a short period of time.Originally Posted by Kainen
I want to avoid cases where a lesser effect overwrites a stronger one.
Anyone know if def down katanas overwrite stronger effects like angon or substitute + stack with other effects like say, acid bolts?
They will not trigger if acid effect is present, I don't think. They definitely do not stack. Only one "defense down" and one "dia" effect can be present on the mob at a given moment.Originally Posted by Navia
Pretty sure Yoto+1 overwrites acids, at least. I seem to recall them going off and damage dealt was noticably higher afterwards, so it's safe to assume Yoto's grant more def down.Originally Posted by Navia
For clarification, I was on rng at the time, using a crossbow, and it's very easy to tell how the mob def is affected with ranged attacks, as their damage per hit remains fairly static (this was pre-nerf, btw)
