You're referring to the Yigit Gomlek. Even though Gomlek has song cast -10, it's still not on the same level as a manteel. Manteel includes some peripheral stat bonuses for BRD and the song cast time is -12. A BRD with a Gomlek still eyes the Manteel.

Arrgh~ stop comparing those, they have 1 stat in common.

Only reason to wear Gomlek over Manteel is gil. Then again, days of effort put into assaults is time spent, and time = money last I checked, especially when you could be assaulting for a better piece of gear.
