I say neither. Both can get dull and annoying. But, if I had to choose, I'd go with dynamis. At least with dynamis, you'll almost always get something. My shell usually gets 300-400 currency and 3-8 relic armors in city runs. Hell, in two runs, we got nearly 15 relics and in another 2 runs, somewhere around 1200+ currency (two 4+ 100-pieces runs in a row). Northlands are a bit suckier, we usually get 0-4 relics there, and often they're good (minus the lolsam body that no body wanted).
With fafnir, you'll ahve a 10% chance of getting a claim and a 5% chance of getting a ridill. That's about 200 fafnir pops to sit through. Have fun.
Same people who got it the day before.Originally Posted by Erza
It only takes 1 claim to get a ridill :] my old LS is proof with a 1/1 faffy. First claim first ridill. Too bad it twas wasted on a RNG :[ Id pick faffy ^^)

Holy shit, that chat in your sig is full of win Max...explain who the fuck is that damn stupid?
Even despite my constant jabbing at Wafik, my LS is in the same state as BG. We don't camp kings anymore, because on Siren you can hardly even cast on a mob before its claimed. Haven't claimed a single thing in months, meanwhile LSes who just started camping a month ago claim everything. Irony of them telling us we're whining because we can't claim, when we sat through a year of the JP days claiming maybe a NQ or HQ every 2 months.Originally Posted by Ishido
W/E if you can't claim, do dynamis. All a failed king camp is gonna do (or 12) is bring down the morale of the LS. King camps and complete lack of any endgame is breaking mine and many LSes apart. Just do something that keeps your LS happy, busy, and productive. Obviously 100+ wasted hours of no claims is not doing that.
We've always looked at Dynamis (especially Xarcabard when we first did it LS-only) as a King chance for everyone and not just 1-2 people. If windows are close, we may postpone Dynamis a bit, leave a camp early, or leave Dynamis early, but we'll always do Dynamis on the days we go.
As for Ridill vs. Dynamis..... sure there's the chance you get lucky and drop a Ridill, but like anything you need to weigh the chances and clearly Dynamis is going to win every time. Reminds me of a time a recently departed LS member (who had never even seen Ridill drop) challenged my decision to go on with Dlord instead of rushing to a D1 Fafnir. Ended up getting Mantle/Ring/100 off Dlord, no-brainer in that case.
fuck the aery, fuck the valley, and fuck the dominion.
The basis of that quote isn't that stupid, but assuming 5 points of DEX would allow you to use Red Curry on everything is. General speculation has always equated DEX (AGI for Ranged) to some form of increased accuracy although people tend to argue how much of an impact it actually has.Originally Posted by othellojr
SE has dropped enough hints though that even if DEX/AGI doesn't translate directly into +Accuracy, it does check against a mob's AGI/Evasion and impact your overall accuracy. Latest confirmation of this is the bit about AGI affecting COR's Quick Draw ability. But ya in the end its unlikely that you can find enough +STAT to outweigh +ACC in the same slot to make it worthwhile.

just wait for the message, Soandso was defeated by Fafnir.
Well, it seems you guys are talking about this situation from the standpoint of a shell that cant really be bothered with kings at all, regardless of whether or not it clashes with Dynamis. I can certainly understand the sentiment, don't get me wrong. But the thread should be renamed to "Should we bother going to kings at all, when we havent claimed for months so someone else is obviously botting? I can't really be bothered."
Assuming you are in a shell that wants to do kings, and wants drops from kings, as well as wants things from dynamis, there is an obvious logic path. Delaying dynamis for kings means you can do both, doing dynamis during kings means you can only do one.
People using bots is nothing new, again if you dont go youll never claim no matter what. You might miss the day the bots dont go, or the day faf pops right in front of you and nowhere near any of the botters, or whatever. I have _never_ personally claimed a hnm, but that doesnt mean that I go afk during windows, because as senoska said, it only takes one.
Thanks Delekii, my english skills suck recently but you sum my ideas nicely :9
Delaying works sometimes, I think, but not always, especially with Dynamis where you expect people to attend for 2.5-3 hours, and some zones where you need them the most towards the end. :/ With a Faf opening at 7, likely popping 7th window at 10.. 30 mins to 1 hour to get ready, and half the shell going to bed around 11:30-12, it's difficult to do a Dynamis that can justify a whole hourglass, I guess.
If Faf opens at like 3 pm, then woot, we can do whatever we want in the evening, there are just some cases where the two are exclusive. Limbus for example is a lot easier to do after a Faf window, especially a robot.
The entire argument that "your chance of claiming drops to 0 if you aren' there" only has any validation if your chance of claiming while there is above 0.Originally Posted by Delekii
Unless you can actually claim, I'm just saying that being in Aery or being in your Mog House gives you about the same chance. Logically, being at the camp, you'd -think- your chances are greater than 0, but -if you never claim-, they aren't.
I'm not saying not to do Kings, I'm just trying to logically argue the point.Originally Posted by Delekii
Are you really doing both if you don't actually fight the HNM, but do fight the mobs in dynams/get drops from dynamis/etc?
At what point does spending time doing something that has no real reward because of the circumstances trump doing alternatives in the game that do?
Ok, jeez, it was bunni. You damn drama whores.

this is speculation (because acc is not a visible stat) but i understand 2 dex to equal 1 acc and 2 str equals 1 atk.
im pretty sure that the 2 acc (or 3 with an odd number?) bonus isnt going to give anyone such a significant edge that they can switch to atk food. An ACC build, and +Skill on the other hand might.
