For alot of the "big" items, leveling a job to 75 is trivial compared to getting the item. At this point most real endgame people have 3+ 75s, often many more, thinking about players in terms of their "main" job is outdated. Statements like "a rng gets a ridill" don't make any sense these days, that's not a ranger, thats john, you're on teamspeak with him right now. He's got 4 other 75s and you know he'll probably have war to 75 in a month now that he's got a ridill.
For people in established linkshells, you just don't think about people in terms of their jobs. You think of the player.
If you're in the kind of suck linkshell where you have to worry about players in terms of their "main" job, that's a problem with the quality of players in your linkshell.
I can't see any valid argument against a well done point system for real endgame linkshells.
