Missing items

Today I logged on, and notice that a few of my items were missing. I noticed my Penitent's Rope was gone, Red Cape +1, and that's all I've noticed so far.
I didn't toss them or anything, I checked my Mog Safe, my Mog Locker, Delivery Box, and I can't find them. I've heard some stuff about how people would log on and random items would go missing, but then they'd log out and log back on and it would be there. Well, I tried this and it's still gone. Any tips? =/ Thanks.

Ive heard this before, but yeah it turns out its ususally some one with your password or your housemate/brother etc nabbing stuff to sell by logging in when your at work/college etc.

ive heard of things going missing and then coming back again its gotta do with lag or something try logging in and out a few times and zoning a few times also that might fix it if not you got straight up jacked

Some of this may seem obvious but:

Check you in/outbow
-Maybe you sent it to yourself and forgot? '-'
-If someone DID hax you chances are they didn't log back in and check recheck your outbox so you can see their name adn what else they may have taken.

Check your mules.

Also, go to FFXIAH.com and poke around. Check penitent's rope. Check the buy/sell history of some of the people you know.

that happened to me once, a very long time ago (year 1 of NA release)

formatted my hard drive, reinstalled FFXI, logged on... and realized my easter egg (happy egg, the +1%hp one) was gone

Never gave my pw to anyone, and its EX so i cant trade it, and I played PLD so I didnt even have a /ra macro on any macro set

had to wait over 6 months to get it again

still use it every day <.<

as a previous poster stated, consider yourself its something easily replaceable, not like an event item or *gasp* DM earring/cop ring/earring
