Too bad they think they're playing baseball when they use a GK.

I've tinkered around with VRS a bit and I've figured a way to map one object onto the animation files for another as well as editing animations and making custom ones. The latter is a very very very tedious process and I more or less refuse to do it, it's not difficult; anyone who's tinkered with skeletons in VRS can do it... it's just so tedious it's not worth the hours upon hours it would take to do it.

Has anyone tried switching .dats from different races stances, or would I have to use a race converter or something? ; ; What I mean is, I like my elvaan model, I just hate the way he looks when he's fighting as a MNK. Is there a way to make it so that the elvaan frame is held in say.. hume position while fighting?

Actually, with the Mithra GKT stance, the lower hand is not holding the katana as you would with a baseball bat, it's sort of hovering above it (look closely.) I'm told that this is a valid way to wield one... you use the upper hand as a fulcrum, and the lower hand to lever it for a stronger swing. Something like that.

The only two races that I ever really paid attention to stances were hume M and elvaan M.

I've also sufficiently nerdy to have some training with swords.

Very generally, Hume M actually hold weapons like you would IRL. The stance for small light weapons are in possitions where you can quickly attack, but also manage to quickly get them into a possition to parry. Large 2 handed weapons are held in such a way that you have the weight of the blade countered and you use one hand as a fulcrum and the other to lever the weapon around and hit the mob (hume m with a gsword is a great example of that).

Elvaan M hold weapons in a way where they'ld have 0 defensive or offensive value. E.g. for katanas or daggers they're held down at their sides so they have to move a LOT to either parry or attack. Even an elvaan pld with sword/shield holds the sword at a downward angle and the sheild off to the side so that neither is in possition to attack or defend. Basically they look extremely cocky, as if they assume that whatever they're fighting doesn't repersent any sort of a threat.

Tarus just look cool. One of my favorite movies is of a taru rdm soloing a tonberry. The tonberry double attacks+uses throat stab at the same time as the taru used savage blade. The taru jumps up into the air, does his flip and lands flat on his face.

    Lol.

Wouldn't it be cool if stances changed depending on what you were fighting. Level 75 nin attacking a level 60 mob, stands like an elvaan. Level 75 nin attacking a VT-IT mob, stands like a hume. Level 75 nin attacking AV lays there shaking trying to protect it's head.

No, it's really because of their low DEX and AGI. [2004]That's why they have the lowest accuracy in the game.[/2004]

I love this stance, its stupid you get to only use it as a newbie until you get dual wield.
The turn+stab animation would totally work as a mnk style counterattack, if they had a ninja ability that activated when single wielding, sort of like samurai's seigan.
