    Victanir

I'm trying to gather materials for Tournesol, and am currently going after Wargod Bands. I tried chaining Leynirs in the Deadlands, and got 2 in 97 kills, so I decided to try Victanir.

I searched the forums, and all I found was the Rare Game Pop Condition thread which said he has a 40% chance of spawning in Yellow Sands near the Zertinian Caverns entrance. I've reloaded about 15 times and have yet to see him.

Basically I'm just wondering if I have really bad luck, or if there's some condition I don't know about like clearing the area or something.

This ghoulish steed appears south of the Yellow Sands area by the
entrance to Zertinan Caverns. It's mostly transparent so it may be
able to sneak up on you
    Taken from Here

I'll go ahead and assume it's invisible, maybe it spawned but you didn't see it?

Edit- Didn't know gamefaq's blocks links, it's from Shotgunnova's guide.

    Firstly, GameFAQs blocks direct links.

Secondly, he's similar to Trickster in that he's semi-invisible before aggroing.

My advice, just stick to Leynirs. Chain them and you will get them for sure. Didnt even take me longer than 30 minutes to get me 7 Wargodas Bands. After I made my Tournesol I even got a lot more, just by running through.
Its all dependent on luck. Sometimes you get them fast, sometimes it will take a while. But I still think its better than stealing of one rare mob everytime.
At least you get XP that way, while you farm the Materials.

For the rare one you can just zone in and out 5 or 10 times to be sure he's popped (a lot like the bombshell chaining technique), then run through the area until you see him.

You have to run around the area until he appears on top of you.

I'd advise you to stick with Leynir's also. I actually had to farm the bands twice because of a power outting during a lightning storm before I had saved.

    1st run: 4 bands -- chain 49
    2nd farming: 5 bands -- chain 126

(2 dropped my last time popping in/out of the area). Sure, I was getting frustrated the second time around, but even getting the chain 126 took under an hour so it wasn't horrible. Made alot of loot off bardings/etc as well in the process.

Stick with it, they'll drop ^.^
