Great to see that SquareEnix is continuing to do what they do best, coming up with evasive answers that don't actually answer any question their users ask. If "actions" are truly being taken, I'd seriously like to know why the hell almost every server is still plagued with RMT.

Dunno, they did say it might compromise what they are doing. How about we give them some slack? I mean they have been doing their job havent they?

Sounds like good news to me.

About hNM kings pop times, we can all agree they are boring and suck, but it's really not something that a special task force on RMTing should change, if anything that's something that future updates and expansions could change, with new battlefields like ENMs and new items, and still people will probably complain even then :wink:

It's also nice to see that the special task force understands the game well enough to know better than to implement suggestions that might sound good at first but would suck when you actually try them in practice. Making sky pop items rare ex would make things a lot messier and more complex for legitimate players, and RMTs can already sell rare/ex things to you, it just makes it a bit more inconvenient for them(e.g., the buyer would have to be afk there in alliance or show up when they kill a god for him) but would never stop them from camping ulli etc...

The real problem is that there are RMTs and bots, and it sounds like that's exactly what they are going after. /clap :D

Because people aren't seeing enough RMT's on their server vanish quick enough.

They obviously did their job on some servers. On Pandemonium, sky is still clean, and that means no competition on Ulli. I've heard much the same about several other servers. Not all servers had their RMT wiped clean, other servers did. But I imagine that that will come in time. It's not as if the STF has been ineffective thus far, even if you haven't seen any results yet on your server.

I was just looking at an empty temple of U early today on bahamut. I haven't looked at Ulli's shrine but that always has sky linkshell's for it anyway. They are doing it quick enough for me ;3
making items rare/ex would not vanquish RMT . but even if they did that it would hurt players even more. you wont be able to trade stones to ls-members anymore and the 12+ hr pop style would still be there on stuff like Ulli making it more of a hassle. There probaly will be other types of fixes for some of that type of stuff down the line. which they have to consider carefully on all sides. but again. It is not their job to change the game, just to enforce the law.

Trust me, I despise rmt as much as anyone. But use a little logic please.
Because you know they are rmt, wheres the proof? You don't ban someone without proof >> Yes, its fesible to say because the person is shouting to sell sky drops or sea drops but that isn't proof that they are rmt (even though it is very likely they are)

One other thing, SE even mentioned long ago they can't have a fake account buy gil then trace it (something about entrapment or something, that it would be illegal ? Seems kinda weird)

Seeing people get banned that deserve it is a good start, and inflation has not occured on Hades since the large wave of bans even nearing Christmas (I believe Hades had some of the worse rmt too)

My only concern is how the rmt, after being banned, remake and start leveling (good thing they take a week to level up once sometimes past 50 by fighting EPs all day)

Like many have said here, the task force is for rmt/hackers not for fixing spawn times. They seem to be looking into that bc type of thing for endgame hnm which will be a nice change.

In the end, its about PROOF. Its difficult to have proof, you can go up to one and say "can I buy gil from you guys with $?" and they will not respond.

Slow and steady is all I can hope for over quick blind action. Unless you don't mind being banned for accidently saying ingame as a joke "i buy gilz LOLZR0sz"

In what ways will the Special Task Force be different from normal GMs? GMs do not actively look for problems to fix, only react to player calls. Will the Special Task Force seek out problems in Vana’diel?

The STF is completely independent from the GM team specializing in assessing and taking action against issues created by RMT related activities,improper third party tool usage etc.

So there is a proper way to use them....?

The RMT Squad is responsible for stopping people breaking the ToS, the development team is reponsible for putting out the fire that is a broken game system.

Actually you could report them for monopolizing the NM this way. Because if they continue to camp Ulli and end up tossing stones b/c some people don't buy, they would be told to leave or spend some time with Bubba. (Mordion Gaol.... GM jail for those who don't know).

My post earlier about changing end game HNM drops and Ullikummi respawn were just ideas btw. I didn't intend to be saying this as stuff the STF do. Just stuff that people might like.

And as for the server im on (Fenrir), a lot of the RMT were booted that were in sky. But we also had a big batch in sea, and they moved to sky after the ones that WERE in sky got booted. So in turn, SE booted the RMT from sea on fenrir.

but they are getting the job done and I hope to see more of them gone so me and the rest of us can enjoy the game.

Honestly, making it rare/ex is just making it more annoying for everyone. RMT can still sell stones by recieving gil, then trading the pop items to the ??? Sky farming LS would have way more drama / issues with stone holders not being onlnie or leaving LS.

I got owned by that task force with a 90 day ban for conspiring to sell gil, vulgar language, MPK and harrasment. This was 6 weeks after I stopped playing, and I had given away all my gil through a fun series of events. Thanks SE.
