This has happened to me twice.

You take a knee to start crafting, and instantly get NQ animation. Your log tells you "You lost the crystal you were using" with no mats loss, and there's an NQ in your inventory.

This happened on Dusk Gloves tonight :/

It's happened to me before, but I got an HQ Animation with Hq result.

Happened to me before. Always get the Crystal lost method, and no mats lost. However a look in the inventory may be either NQ or some mats lost. Never gotten HQ.

If you were using crafting support belt, this'll happen if you craft a few moments after using the belt. That's why you should wait for a minute or so to craft if using belt.

I've had it happen to me before, but not after using my belt. But, every time it's happened to me (probably only 3-5 times now), I got the break animation with no materials lost and no result in my inventory, only the crystal was gone.

Oddly enough in 73 levels of Woodworking and like 50 levels of Smithing this had never happened to me. Then I read about it, and the next day it happened .

I was on a streak once though where I would repeatedly stand up during synths. Didn't affect anything, just looked kinda wierd.

And wow I thought the belt was +1. Might actually use it more often now.

Has happened to me a few times... mostly while synthing elemental staves. I actually have had the opposite happen too. Got HQ animation, but it tells me I lost the crystal and synth materials that I was using(and I actually did lose all the mats). Called a GM, they told me to go jerk off in a corner as usual. Guess in a game this big, theres bound to be some programming glitches.

You can force that to happen by crafting on stairs.

While this glitch is kinda annoying, it doesn't affect your crafting results. Success, failure, breaks, skillup, all these are determined at the point your character sits down to begin synthing. So if you get the glitch and crit fail, chances are you were gonna crit fail anyway even if the glitch didn't occur.
