anyone able to tell which dat is the blue leech?

Umm, looking through my dat browser theres no way to detect which is which... Only way would be to go in and change them piecemeal. If the new one you change to KB doesnt pop within the allotted repop time, that should be the one. Other than that I'm not really sure how to go about that.

I don't think you would be able to tell if it popped with 798728937489234 KB blocking your view. I'm guessing the Bloodsucker NM uses the blue skin from those leeches in zi'tah so there probably is a way to single him out.

Thats not what I'm saying. I'm saying write down the list of the 20 or so IDs for bloodsuckers. Then change one of them to KB. Log in, if you see KB, log out and change it back. Cross that off your list. Continue this until you log in and dont see KB, thats the NM one that wont pop for 72 hours. The rest SHOULD be up, unless someone is killing bloodsuckers for no good reason.

Have you ever dat mined? I mean I cant think of anything else off the top of my head, but knowing that you're so confident I'm sure there is... I'll ask it anyways though. Know of any other mobs in the game that are leeches with blue tint? Oh, not to mention Pebbles POL Utils dat miner doesnt just go by textures but names. And theres only two places that Bloodsuckers (leeches) spawn, so thats only two areas you have to check.

After maint. it spawn exactly 23 hours after maint. Then when it dies, it is 72 hours again and again until new maint.

Actually I'm pretty sure it's 21-24hour window after server up, and then exactly 72 hours after. Pretty damn sure.

But you don't really know how long the time is between when servers are up and when they start letting people back on. It's just like faf/behe/adaman, if it's not up after the maintenance, you have only a vague idea where the window falls.

I have camped this NM several times and I have the ring. I always camped the 21-24 after server up window; it always pops within that time frame the 1st time, and then like others say, it's a 72 hour pop exactly on the dot.

I never used dat swaps, but it's not hard to spot a different-colored leech after staring at them for so long lol. Another thing that helped me was checking every leech that I ran by obsessive-compulsively until I found the Impossible to Gauge one.

Good luck camping this. Waiting on the 1st pop after server maintenance is very stressful, but once you get a ToD you're golden.

0/9 on the ring on this NM, but here's some advice from spending way too much time down in that sewer.

He will pop 21-24 hrs after a server reset, and 72 hrs from ToD after that.

He almost always (for me at least) popped near the stairs, or one of the 2 hallways closest to the stairs.

Once he did pop near the Asuran Fists NM room.

If you don't have a ToD, I wouldn't waste your time camping.
Just wait until the next server reset and come back the next day, then you can get ToD (if not drop) and keep coming back every 72 hrs.

This has to be the hardest NM to camp if you have an LS that does the 3 kings, getting the ToD conflicts with 3 kings almost 100% of the time and its so retarded, gonna try to get a ToD in a few days though since faf window has been going down a bit lately.

It's not as if you're actually changing the specific mob to KB, all you are doing is swapping the model used by the NM to the model used by KB. If you swap .dats with the regular pink leech, ALL the leeches down there will show as KB (except the NM). If you swap with the blue leech model used by Goobbue Parasites and Bouncing Balls, then only blue leeches will show as KB. This means the NM will look like KB, and you will also see dozens of KB in Zi'Tah and Boyahda Tree.

Now, if you wanted to change the mob's name to "King Behemoth" or something, then yes, you need to locate the specific mob in the .dats. But models are generic, and changing the .dat of one model will change the appears of all mobs in the game that use that model.

I did what another poster mentioned and just turned the Gamma up to around 60-70. It was really easy to spot the blue one like this.

I went like 1/5 or so, got the one that dropped at the 21.5 hour mark after servers went up from a maintenance.

Yah its pretty easy to solo as a 75 thf, when I got my ring I had 2 adds while fighting the NM.

I've camped it off and on for the past 8 months or so. I hate this NM so very, very much. Lost claim on it after server resets a few times, then random camping for hours where it's never popped, and finally one time after a server reset I get claim and no drop.

Oh, and forgot to mention... With movement speed you really don't need to sneak around them at all. At first when I camped it after a maintenance I brought like 5 stacks of oil, but the leeches lose hate almost right away in the water so it's not really worth the trouble.

At night I'd just run non-stop all through the camp and never get hit, they'd just keep losing hate almost right away. Even without the movement speed you can usually get enough distance on them to lose hate.

Of course it's a little risky, but I never had a problem.

My WHM is 10 so that wasn't an option for me.

In the end /THF for the TH and extra evasion (since half the time I linked the NM to hell) worked out fine anyway.

1/1 on that NM....for a friend. Not like I really needed it anyways.

I wasn't even thinking about the ways to make it easier to find it, I just left the camera underwater looking for the blue one, worked fine for me.
