I just hit 70 SAM and while I was going to buy my JSE body I completely forgot about that new body armor (mainly cause it don't show up in FFXIah.com and I already know what I was going to buy) and I was like "oh shit!", I never even looked at the stats....then I did.

I was sad. It looks pretty fresh.

On the question of AF2 being recolored AF:

There is a storyline reason why this is so. AF2/relic was AF enhanced by master crafters during the Great War to augment the wearer's abilities. Why then would PUP, COR, and BLU follow this logic at all? They can and will probably be something different. I am surprised no one has said this.

BTW Has anyone actually SEEN a player with the Corslet or that SAM JSE since the last update lol GG SE

If it's a soup traditionally eaten during New Year's celebrations, it has to be ozoni. My dad brought some home from the temple he goes to... it's strange, but kind of good.

To me, it's completely irrelevant if they add high-demand 3-7 day nms or not. If they don't add them, nothing changes for me. If the do add them, haijin ls or gil sellers will have a mule camping the repop 24/7, and still nothing changes for me.

If they want to add content that hits the broadest amount of endgame players, both casual and hardcore, they should aim for content that is:
1) accessible to everyone at a scheduleable time--don't require SM+ rank, because most people aren't even past SP. Make it SP (or LC to encourage rank-ups)
2) targetted towards a proficient group of 6 people -- doable with less if the group is particularly well-oriented for the task
3) doable with up to a full alliance simultaneously (bonus points if the difficulty/reward scales, so that you aren't penalized much for having more people)
4) rewards people with a point/coin system, so that people don't have to struggle against abysmal drop-rates, but at the same time the production rate of the best rewards is moderate.
5) Target length is 1-2 hours per "run".

Sound familiar? Limbus...Assault...Dynamis...all of these activities strive towards these points (some better than others)

Couldn't agree more. That list comprises about 90% of what I still do & enjoy in this game.

For the new gear, even if the stats are not stellar I enjoy collecting new gear sets (much to the detriment of my storage space >_<), so as long as they aren't coming from heavily camped/botted mobs I'll look forward to getting some new pixels.

whether or not teh whole set is useful, usually atleast 1 or maybe 2 pieces in sets are useful. And yea, whats wrong with giving all job some sort of "options"? All jSE may not be good for everyone who is lvl 75, but pieces at lvl 70 do SOME people some use. So yea, I long with many others care about JSE. Its only natural that if 11 jobs have JSE gear, and like the remaining 6 doesnt, ofcourse they will feel left out. Whether the whole set is worthwhile is not the issue.

Because that'd be smart and would actually motivate people to get something that's usually not that hard to get. If all JSE was good, then things that are more Time > Reward wouldn't be camped as much, and this wouldn't be the FFXI we all love & hate at the same time. We all have that hope, (or at least some of us do) that SE will change much like the Grinch and suddenly grow Drop Rates 3 times as large.

MNK get all the JSE they would ever need wrapped up in a nice little package known as the Black Belt. SMNs get a lot with the Yinyang robe too. You can't disregard those pieces as JSE just because they are single items.

I just think thats stupid and i never understood it because every other game that has job sets for a certain job are usually very good ;x SE needs to take notes from diablo 2 on how to make sets and class specific/job items >.>

But that'd be learning from their mistakes...and I don't recall many events when SE has learned from their mistakes. "ROZ was a hit!" 'Yeah, let's do COP, give them harder monsters, less reward, and take forever to get anywhere with decent gear!' We've yet to really see what TAU is like, but most people's hopes are pretty low, and rightfully so. If they learned from their mistakes they'd of made Ulli pop NM, all kings Abj in KSNMs, they'd of made Dynamis Instanced, and BCNM99's. It doesn't make sense, and I never fully understand how hard it is to one-up a Byakko's Haidate, or even make something that's an alternative for those who can't camp Ulli 24/7.

Edit: On that last note about BHaidate: What the hell would be so hard to make the Barb. Zerehs 5-7% haste? it has less stats than Byakko's...why not give it a bit more haste, then it can still be a somewhat competetive piece of equipment that's more fun to get and doesn't take forever to camp against every other LS, and occassional RMT (When King timers aren't up)
