    GCN Twilight Princess

This was released today and I saw about a million of them in Best Buy. I have heard they might be rare before long so I thought about picking one up, anyone hear anything about this?
Also, anyone picking this up in general? I have heard the gameplay itself may be better without the motion sensor controls.
I guess I am wondering if anyone is picking this up, and how you feel it is different than the Wii version if you have played both?

If the Wii continues to be unattainable throughout the holiday season then yes, I will pick this up since I want to play it that fucking badly but still haven't been able to.

I agree, but I really want a Wii and that is one of the few games that I want for it right now. x.x

Yea I was thinking about getting it in addition to my Wii copy of it. I am into collecting games, even if I don't plan on playing them right away. Especially when one is rumored to be rare.

I doubt it'll be THAT rare... maybe just for the first couple of weeks.

I doubt it'd be rare. First of all, it's a Zelda game so they're going to mass produce it. Second of all, there aren't nearly enough Wiis to go around (rofl..) for everyone that wants one, so alot of people are going to be sticking with this version, and third of all, the game isn't the exact same as TP for Wii, it's a mirrored thing, so the hardcore Zelda people will want both for both experiences.

It won't be rare in the beginning, and I doubt it'll be rare even in a couple months. I'd tell you that unless you're going to play it, to wait until it drops in price to add it to your collection.

Yea I was thinking the drop in price notion as well.
My reason for thinking it would be rare is that the Gamecube is an after-thought now for Nintendo, so maybe this game only gets manufactured for the first 6 months or something, and then they stop since the Gamecube is dead, and Nintendo's position will be, if you want to play Zelda buy a Wii or pay 100 dollars for the GCN version on Ebay. But hopefully not.
I guess the other side of the coin is, youre right, the mirrored thing. Nintendo has pitched this as a benefit so maybe a shitload will be made since they will sell it as being a different game.
    Time will tell.

I think I'll get GCN Zelda as I originally was going to.

I played the demo on Wii at the mall, and it was fun and all but lots of the times when I pulled out Bow or Hookshot (which looks like a weird claw thing now), the screen would say "Point Wii-mote at the screen" and when I did it wouldn't register and I'd get raped. Maybe that particular Wii was off...

Edit: I've also seen Nintendo state several times that new games are going to keep coming out for GCN, it ain't over yet.

Little kids playing games in stores or malls = broken controllers.

Yeah, but besides that... sometimes it does do that to me as well when I play, but I just have to point at the screen and it registers. It mostly happens when you have the wiimote facing the floor/ceiling, and the sensor bar doesn't get signals from it.

That sucks then. ;/ I haven't had a chance to play it yet, I fail at camping systems.

Err, it says that cause you need to aim. You can't aim if have the Wiimote facing the floor.

Anyways, the GC-version has some other features the Wii-version doesn't. You can change the camera view with C and you can do spinning slashes in a row. In the Wii-version the sword needs to "recharge" every time you do it. Really wish you could change camera view in the Wii-version, it annoys the hell outta me sometimes. I use a ghetto method now, keep pressing Z when I wanna change the view (camera moves behind Link when you do).

Exactly my point... half the time when I play I get bored of running or w/e so I just kind of hang my arms down as I roll around, but then you suddenly need to use the boomerang/bow/whatever, and that's the message it gives until you aim.

And you can actually change the camera view freely like in FF12? That's pretty cool... even though i've been doing the Z thing with Ocarina, Majora, and Wind Waker, so it's that that big a deal to do it on TP as well.

Ok gotcha, Scythiroth seemed to believe it's some kind of error. Would be pretty stupid if you could aim w/o facing it towards the TV.

Yea, you can change the camera like in FF12 (and many other games!).

Oh lol. I'd probably do the same thing though, i tend to play games with my controller facing down or in random places.

You don't really need to aim with the mote (most of the time), it's only if you chose to. I do it because it's more fun then using Z-targeting on everything. I do also not have the Wii-mote aimed at the TV all the time just when I need to aim with the slingshot/boomering etc.

It's a huge fan-service if you've played Ocarina of Time.
