For those that missed the screenshots of Miyuu before they got FROGGED, here's one of her gear setup fighting Fafnir yesterday. By the way, she didn't swap gear at all the whole time. Enfeebles, Enhancing magic, etc... nothing.

After that, she used Evisceration to open Fragmentation for a THF. Throughout the whole fight, additional effect from the relic weapons only proc'd 4x about 280ish each time.

hm yeah no gear swaps is first thing I noticed too when I saw her tank Faf before.. she was mainly casting her own buffs and tanked in a ton of MDB+ gear
She had excal in main hand and using genbu's shield tho.
When I turned dmg filters on I saw her sword hit for 0dmg a lot but add effect for about 300~ a lot actually...
also they NEVER SC'ed I think (this was the Faf right after the emergency maint last Saturday) and they basicually had 2 RDMs main tanking with a NIN as backup and 4 pimp BLMs just thunder 4 and burst 2'ing it.
They got close to the 1hr mark I think (not sure when he popped exactly, logged on after maint right away and he was up already) but they managed to kill it before rage with only about 7-8 people or so I think.

I'm not really sure how their BLMs didn't die a lot (they always had plenty of time to log hate) and how she kept hate with barely casting debuffs...

They still amaze me when it comes to hate management, BLMs go all out and even when they're lolRDM/NIN tanking stuff they don't pull hate.

The other thing that amazes me is how they still have the motivation to camp at 3-4am JP time when they've been owning anything near their timezone since whatever HNM was put in the game.

10% increase in DoT over destroyers, but ya it doesn't give me a spot in the alliance where none existed beforehand.

id have to disagree sed. IMO relic is a waste only if the rest of the gear for the intended job isnt top notch. Relics are the "final" upgrade for any job, and the least cost effective. If you've got nothing else to spend money on (all hqs, etc) then relic is not a waste.

How is Mandau and Excal on RDM worth it? It does not benefit the traditional way RDM is played in any shape or form. The add effect from Excal would benefit with the RDM/NIN tanking something, but Mandau? completely worthless on a RDM.

It's not that hard if the blm's aren't hitting magic bursts and know how to stay alive when they do manage to get hate. rdm/nin is garnering more long-term hate than a ninja (outside of /brd).

Agreeing with him that the weapon doesn't really change any endgame encounter? It doesn't, really. If there was no room for monks originally, there still is no room for a monk who does 10% more damage.

When we do throw melees at stuff, the difference between putting out 13.5% and 15.0% of total damage output in dynamis is pretty minor

I'd argue the same for the dagger and gkt, though both of those probably are more than a 10% dot increase for their particular jobs. Regardless, only the shield and horn have the ability to affect endgame fights to a large degree.

(I still think they were worth the money, because they are fun, and they are better than destroyers, and I don't have much else to do with my gil. If you look at what I have left to get for my 2 jobs, it's all EX items (sky gear and dynamis drops) or extremely rare synths (genie lappas/weskit, cursed mitts -1, cursed togi -1, etc), it's not like my money is better spent elsewhere)

These people have shit-tons of gil. They enjoy the journey that it takes to get a relic. Usefulness aside, it's worth it to them. Especially the people who get a second relic, there's clearly something in it for them aside from gil/damage value. You guys need to stop looking at "worth" in terms of how much gil you might have, and look at it in terms of how much gil the people who can afford 2 relics might have.
