This game is a hell of a lot of awesome if you're not a complete jerk about the storyline. There is actually a huge backstory to the game, and if you unlock the stuff in the bestiary and explore around you can find it.

I think this was actually a huge step forward for FF's; imo the arguement that optional content is not worth it is counter-intuitive; its optional so quit whining about it. It's not like the monster arena was incredibly significant to the main plot, or hunting down every blue magic in FF6 (or 7 and so on).

It might have been disappointing or whatever story-wise, but actual content-wise it's bar none the most varied.

I realized today there is something that annoy me a lot about the "side story". Why couldnt they just organize it in a database, like Star Ocean 3 or Xenosaga. The way every information is randomly added in random species's entry is really annoying.

Also, there is 0 entry about stuff we care the most, like character

The story is way too short but good, compare to other FF the story dosent have much deep in it. Seem that the story is more about exploring and killing Marks then anything else .. cuz iv spend a lot more time doing that.

I dont think the game is that easy if you try not to over exp when you hunts marks. Right not iam rdy to go on Bahamut, all my characters are lv47 but it wasent that easy going thru the place before (dont remember the name ) I think its more fun to keep lv character the lowest until end game so the story is hard.

Gambit system is one great thing i hope SE will keep for future game.. who always want to erase statue on 3-4 character?esuna, blinda, stone, vox and so on ,, wtf it get very anoying i swear.. good for blm and healer!

Music is ok but not great... nothing can beat FFXI music

I realy wish they had the gambit system for XI, because last night in my merit pt I was just thinking:
    1. Party leaders target: attack
    2: Magic : Utsusemi: Ni
    3. Over 100 TP: Blade: Jin
    4. HP < 10%: Hi potion

and that could run my Merits for hours on end without me actually bother to pay much attention. would have saved me a few hours of boreddom.

if you have to TRY REALLY REALLY hard to make it a difficult game, then it's probably too easy.

Those are in the wrong order <_<

    1. TP > 100%: Blade: Jin
    2. Party leaders target: attack
    3. Self: Utsusemi: Ni
    4. HP < 10%: Hi potion

Assuming you want to actually ever USE Jin.

You'll still never cast Utsusemi or cure yourself during battle with that. May cause problems on harder marks.

I logged about 120 hours on this (most ever for a FF besides XI) and never want to go back to it. Had my guys at level 70 and fought Yiazamat to 25% then wiped (couldn't get away fast enough) Haven't touched it since.

The only time offensive magic was worth using was when fighting flying enemies or they used physical shield. This game was to much of a melee zerg at all times for me. Woulda been cool had they actually made a reason to get all 13 summons other than the reward from Montblanc. Just my thoughts.

I think ive asked this question before.

As far as FFXII goes you have to look at it like this. With it being an action RPG type game, you can either make people manually control all 3 players, and listen to them bitch about it being to hard. Or you can setup some kind of AI and let everyone enjoy the game and bitch about it being too easy. Thats the wonderful thing about the Gambit system is if you wanted it to be had harder JUST DONT USE IT. Im about 1/2 though and I dont use gambits except for the basic attack gambit and I dont use quicken's and I have to say the game is kinda difficult. And by not using gambits or quickings isn't tryin really really really hard to make it more difficult.

wish square would redo several of the old Final Fantasy games for the newer systems.

I would go into hibernation if they re-did FF6 on lets say the ps3 LOL

They have such an imbedded fanbase now they would make serious coin.

And games would be relatively easy to do in comparison to starting from scratch. And likely sell as many titles!

I enjoyed the grinding, I didn't however enjoy 4 shotting every boss. Wish there were more harder optional mobs instead of one primary one with a billion hp.

Gilgamesh v2 though was marvelous, haven't had that much fun in a console game in ages.

Im at 42 hours and I havent beaten it yet, so i'm happy.

You cant really ask for much more then that out of a console game. I typically dont reply games too often, and this is more then enough for me.

It's not the matter of the game being short and easy.

It's just we, as gamers, are getting good.

The game itself is fairly easy, but it is still fun and offers a lot more than just the story line. Most of the leveling comes from farming stuff to get gear 15 minutes before you could've gotten it just by progressing in the storyline a little more.

I like the game a lot, it's right up there with my favorite FF's and i've played all of the NA released ones. My only complaint is that the beginning cinema was much better than the ending. I find that FF games have really been lacking as far as an ending cinema in the last few games. FF8 offered a really good cinema/song, and since then it's just been really short and pointless. I play the game through to the end for fun sure, but i love the cinematics at the end even more. It's dissapointing to put 80 hours into a game for a 2 minute cinema.

While it really isn't as storyline-heavy as previous FF's, I think the gameplay makes up for it for the most part.

i think you're dreaming. being easily overleveled and having the internet with infinite access to information doesn't mean people are better.

the base storyline is very very easy. the optional stuff is a bit harder.

i had -ga spells hit the damage cap long before any of my melees did. i run 2 separate PTs, Penelo being the only mage, every time i switch, Penelo's group always plows through the regular mobs faster than the full melee group.

black magic really doesn't do much for boss fights but i found it pretty useful for a big chunk of my game.
