I'd still probably use Haub +1 and E body over Ares body, the acc really makes a difference at mamool camps and also is nearly required for a meat build. The best pieces of Ares I see are the head for HNMs, gloves perhaps for a meat build, and feet for the same reasons Amir owns. Oh, and legs own for WS.

For people who are seriously debating using it over an ebody and haste gear, I honestly doubt the enhancement to double attack would

a) matter for those with a broken sword
b) be substantial enough to raise their DPS by 24% (lower in reality but yeah)

Alone it wouldnt be, but the acc, atk, and STR over a standard haste setup would make up also adds DPS. Hitting harder increases DPS ya know... >_>

Though also 24% haste doesnt increase DPS by 24%. In actuality it is a 31.5% increase of DPS due to shitty haste implementation of reducing delay by that % instead of raising rate by that %.

Now lets say the overall double attack effect is 10%. Not only does that increase DPS by 10% it also increases WS damage by 10% (on average.)

Basically...its compleximicated and until we get actual data, unless somebody wants to spend significant time it will be hard to figure out.

Also lets take ridill out of the equation, it really fudges things up.

Id love to see Ares body vs E body on parser.

Ares body would beat E. body by virtue of all merit parties focusing on T-VT mobs.

I suppose the only argument would be that the +10 dex would tilt the parser in favor of the e. body, but I dunno if 10 dex will really matter.

We really ought to see more WARs running around in Byrnies instead of Hauby/Hauberks then. And more STR rings instead of acc. :/ It's a shame Ares's doesn't have acc on it, but don't WARs need it, especially those with ridill/Joyeuse? But if we're to believe that Ares's > E body for meripo, wouldn't the same logic say that Byrnie > Hauby/erk?

Byrnie doesn't exactly have the same str, or the hp/mp +3% as the Ares body. Nor does Byrnie have Auto-Refresh for the DRKs in the crowd.

People don't wear Byrnie because its not really in any way a significant upgrade over hauby. I just think this is.

Also, I'm not with Max on this.

I think the body is awesome, the legs own for ws, and the rest is forgettable.

Im just glad I dont have to compete with a bunch of botters to get my gear anymore, I have to have skill and determination to aquire new and exciting shinys.

I'm more interested in it on a PLD's standpoint. The Def is only 5 under Koenig or is it 10, can't remember, Vit is sexy, but again from my understanding it only really matters when stacked in large amounts.

The Fresh is DEFINITELY very worthwhile since with Auto/Parade were at RDM fresh status. The other stats, don't really turn me on as much as the HP/MP%. So those would only matter on a survival standpoint and not really using SW. I personally always save my TP for Chivalry. Due to the "OH FUCK" events that can usually happen and therefore I try to be prepared.

I guess more testing once the pieces are put into play will really give us hard numbers, but imo I think NIN got the real deal holifield out of it.

Well, yeah this body is sexy as hell, I've done SOME PLD/NIN work, but I have a HUGE preference with NIN/DRK that I think I've gotten my view's somewhat skewed. From the timing to the equipment to well...hell I think i get a hard-on knowing that I can pull off some serious hate without getting beaten to a pulp.

I love PLD, but it can be such an equipment dependent job. I'm working on my own Aegis, slowly but surely so I wanna see some serious parses after you get that shit.

I agree that Ares body is a pld thing and beats the shit out of Kbody. But yeah, I'm a big pld/nin fan. It's pretty much my default tanking setup anymore. Still, bloodtanking has its uses and that body is hot.

Luckily none of my LSs DRKs think so! (or want gear for other jobs or a different Ares piece). At least in my LS looks like Ares body is going to be something only the PLDs are after for awhile.

Xavier, accuracy rocks so hard for melee regardless of what your base skill is. DRKs can push skill and acc high enough to go w/ meat builds, but a good acc body piece would be necessary. Even with sushi you want some acc. And I don't think gaxe or axe wars would stop using Adaberk in favor of Ares either. Its a great SATA WS piece though, if thats what you're trying to get at. But for tping and multi hit weapon skills, Ebody still wins imo.

All the drks in my shell have a huge boner for the whole damn set already. I've already heard stuff like "its fulltime armor you wouldn't need to swap out" and shit. Same guys I had to tell to use scythe when they sub ninja...

...anyways super hot pld bodypiece + nice sataws macro piece. Also I guess nice for DRG WS (except penta; would probably still want the 10 acc on heca body or 15 on homam).
