The guy I'm talking about has (had? heard rumors he's banned now but IDK if its confirmed) like, every single PLD item imaginable, rofl. Can't hold hate when you're getting smacked for 700, aegis or no aegis.

Fuck that, with the Shield change recently /NIN works pretty well on Prudence.

I may have been low-balling by 10-20 points of damage. 90-150 or 100-160 may be a more accurate average but 80-140 is definitely not unheard of, especially if you have Phalanx II on.

PLD/NIN getting hit for 40-60 more damage than PLD/WAR sounds more realistic to me, unless the PLD/NIN is going overboard with Enmity/Haste and not giving a shit about Defense if fafhogg is in the mood for wing spam.

Does fafnir spawn level 60 on your server? Or is that with -50% damage reduction? Wearing three pieces of koenig and D.ring I might see 140 once a fight.

Taken with full AF2 (except Gallant Leggings +1 instead of Valor Leggings) on to prove a point. >_> Long before Sentinel update.

That was pretty much average damage taken throughout the fight. Tavnazian Tacos, Defender, no SMN in PT, no RDM with Phalanx II in PT, nothing else special.

We're back to our KI discussion about this, but nobody here is going to really support your claims on KI either.

You've done PLD/WAR AA rotation properly and you haven't done PLD/NIN properly and you're saying PLD/WAR is the choice for HNM. If you can't see why you're talking out of your ass compared to me then just quit life.

I never once said PLD/WAR is THE choice for HNM. All my discussion revolved around Tiamat and my experiences with PLD/WAR there, vs seeing PLD/NINs suck it up on him.

after getting my old HNMLS's PLDs to change to pld/nin for tiamat, where they would normaly want to go on pld/war I can say the following:

I never, ever, NEVER EVER! will goto a tiamat with pld/war tanks again.(speaking as both my whm and my rdm)

Tip for PLDs new to end game: use war on the things it's safe for, but in the mean time Level your NIN sub to 37 and learn to count to 3. Nothing will help you more on the big fights then learning to do that.

and while we're at it, build a magic defense/magicDam-% equip set, that's pretty damn useful too

Actually if you look back at your previous statement... you originally stated that he was arguing that pld/war is best for HNM... when he was in fact arguing just related just to Tiamat.

After seeing probably 15+ fights with pld/nin's and seen them all either very messy or wipe, yes our viewpoint is a little biased since apparantly no pld/nin on our server is worth their weight in salt.

Pld/war has worked so well and near flawless for us on 20+ Tiamats and with seeing nothing but sloppy pld/nin fights, that is where we get our view. But I also return the statement back to you that perhaps you've never seen a pld/war group perfectly executed.

Listen, both work well, but each sub has it's pro's and con's, and each requires a different tank party strategy (/NIN with March songs and such, /WAR with Aerial Armor). Can't we just leave it at that?
