Ash, was Therin the one that talked about Pld taking 250-300 dmg normal hits on Fafnir if they didn't wear Koenig?

I'm so confused.

Ive seen PLD with no food/defender or shield proc get hit for 250-300 on Fafnir

Pld/war has worked so well and near flawless for us on 20+ Tiamats and with seeing nothing but sloppy pld/nin fights, that is where we get our view. But I also return the statement back to you that perhaps you've never seen a pld/war group perfectly executed.

Except, I have, and I said I have, and I said it works.

My point is that unless you've seen both done well, you can't comment on which is better, and hes admittedly never seen pld/nin done well but says its not as good, thus, making statements with no validity.

Correct, it's Swampdonkey Garret. In fact, he posted on this very thread a page or two back!

Apparently 140-160 hits from Fafnir are not very common, even with Defender + Tacos. I guess I've been fighting the elusive level 60 Fafnir for the past 2 years!

Months? Years? I believe I talked about koenig for one week in one thread on KI. I later bumped it for another day or two of debate.

400+ on normal hits? I'm pretty sure I took less on RDM a long time ago when I accidently pulled hate with no stoneskin.

Khimarea would come close to 400, RDM has compable defense to Dark and I think he hit me for 385? with no buffs

Proto Omega on 2 legs is capable of hitting a PLD for that much, its similiar to sub 25% Tiamat..

Even Genbu has insane attack power at less than 25% hp, I got hit for 980 on some job by genbu lol

You've done PLD/WAR AA rotation properly and you haven't done PLD/NIN properly and you're saying PLD/WAR is the choice for HNM. If you can't see why you're talking out of your ass compared to me then just quit life.

I never once said PLD/WAR is THE choice for HNM. All my discussion revolved around Tiamat and my experiences with PLD/WAR there, vs seeing PLD/NINs suck it up on him.

You saying PLD/WAR holds better hate than PLD/NIN and is a better strat sounds an awful lot like you saying PLD/WAR is a better choice for Tiamat.

All of your discussion revolves around your own ignorence, thus, speaking out of your ass. Unless you've done it, or seen it done properly, you don't have the right to comment on it.

You defended what your LS does while discrediting another strategy, all the while having never even done the other strategy to know the difference.

Actually if you look back at your previous statement... you originally stated that he was arguing that pld/war is best for HNM... when he was in fact arguing just related just to Tiamat.

After seeing probably 15+ fights with pld/nin's and seen them all either very messy or wipe, yes our viewpoint is a little biased since apparantly no pld/nin on our server is worth their weight in salt.

He originally 'begged to differ' on PLD/NIN being able to hold hate better than PLD/WAR, he used Tiamat as an example. Xavier was able to take this as him saying PLD/WAR was the better tank for HNM.

I used to tank /WAR (Tiamat, too) I can really say /NIN is the superior sub. All your posts (and his) are pretty much just saying you're incapable of being able to tank without provoke. That, or, you don't have the sub leveled or just don't want to waste gil on tools. I'm not going to tell you what strats your linkshell should use.. because every shell is different, but originally trying to argue that PLD/WAR holds hate better than PLD/NIN without seeing it properly done, your argument means nothing.

It's been awhile since I last tanked fafnir but those numbers (80-140) sound about right. I'll have to see what my damage taken is next time my ls gets faf.
