Marduk shoes are sexy good Red Mage time, but I think I could sleep well at night with the Morrigu shoes. (Mmmmm... +10 MND...)

The moment I saw Marduk shoes the first thing to pop into my mind was:

"No way these would be equippable by RDM but if so..."

I'm still overjoyed with Morrigan though, the shoes are still better than anything I could of imagined.

I'm not a BLU, but seeing that some of the spells have mods for STR MND and INT, this peice is a winner. Not only that, but the ACC and ATK as well. Magic ATK bonus + Refresh + INT and MND for BLM seems a bit comparable to Genie Weskit, though if this had Elemental Magic+ on it, clearly Morrigan > Dalma and Weskit. For RDM, hmm not to sure, but this will end up being mostly a macro peice. AF1 body still owns mostly everything out there from what I've seen. Maybe a great solo peice for RDM, unless you're the type of RDM that bursts MB on HNMs >_>

Marduk for BRD is probably the ultimate body peice right now. Only downside is no -enmity but that shouldn't be an issue. For any SMN with 1000+ mp, 3% is 30MP so right there 30hp 30mp refresh MND+12 and Fast Cast > Dalmatica's MDB+5 -50hp +50mp Refresh and lolResist Paralyze. As for WHM, this might contend with an Aristocrat's Coat, but I would probably still choose Cure Potency over anything really. But if the MND+12 comes out to the same as the Cure Potency as Noble's or Aristos, then Marduk's by far for the refresh and fast cast.

Seems SE made a bright choice this update.

I don't think you'd use it for the STR on BLU, since I think Blue Magic Skill +15 does more for damage on physical spells than STR+5, at least as I understand it. And assuming that Blue Magic Skill affects magical spell accuracy the same way the analogous magic skills affect accuracy, I doubt they'd use it for that either since that's the only piece in the game at the moment a BLU can get +Skill from. But it would be cooler-looking than verm. cloak to equip when you're running somewhere.

I think if Igqira weskit was actually still worth anything, Id probably sell mine when I got that body

Its also kinda ironic, Im actually quite glad now that I wasnt there for a couple of Abodies I could have lotted on - I have no use for a dalm now once I get Morrigans..

    RDM - Morrigan
    BRD - Marduk
    WHM - Marduk
    SMN - Yinyang Robe
    BLM - Tough call...

I like weskit for BLM still because of the elemental magic skill. I'll admit though I'm rather uneducated on how Magic Accuracy works for a BLM. I semi-retired the job prior to SE introducing this stat.

Refresh effect on a BLM is also nice but meh. I can usually find time to rest frequently anyway and I normally just slap on a black cloak when I need that extra refresh effect.

Wouldnt BLM want the full Morrigon set for nuking? Im not a BLM, but from looking at the stats on each piece they seem better than what BLM wear nowadays (with exception of maybe the af2 pants).

Getting Ridills and Defending Rings for other members of your linkshell or yourself if you leveled a second job.

(Kings were never very good for mages to begin with.)

True enough, I can agree to that.

As for BLM nuking in full Morrigans, I guess it depends on how good the MAB is, but it definately looks promising. I still like Yigit hat over Morrigan's Coronal but looking at the big picture, it'll have a better pay off if that MAB bonus is more than 2%.

Only think that I don't like about the set, is its lack of -emnity. Its a pretty minor set back though considering you could really start stacking -emnity in other slots now (ie. Hedgehog Bomb & Amnity Cape) to make up for it. Realistically though how many *omggottahavemyepeennumbers* BLMs would actually do that though?

Yea I was assuming the set bonus is somewhere between 3-5. If its any less than that, combination of yigit/af2/zenith would probably be better for big numbers.

Does magic accuracy help BLM much? There's a good amount of it on the Morrigan set, so even that may help with consistently high nukes even if the MAB is 1-2 lower.

Personally, I wouldn't consider Dalmatica any better or worse than Morrigan for RDM.

Even if I had Morrigan for refresh, I would still macro swap to Errant/Mahatma body for MND build enfeebling. Even if I decided to sacrifice 2 MND to keep refresh on for the 2 seconds it takes to cast an enfeeble, I'd still keep errant body for resting so I'm not saving any inventory space.

The only thing a RDM can do that they might actually wear Morrigan body for is nuking. Beyond that, since they won't wear it for enfeebling, it's just a refresh piece for whenever they aren't enfeebling or nuking. Same as Dalmatica. As for melee RDM, there's better body pieces (AF2 for utsu/stoneskin casting, pahluwan or SH for melee, and dalm is fine for DoT kiting, etc.).

In the end, I think it comes down to whichever piece you think is more available to you. Some will find getting Dalmatica easier than upgrading to Morrigan body. Some will never see a Dalmatica, but can easily get Morrigan.

Skill+ would probably be the choice for most, but I would wonder what a STR mod that high can produce on certain spells.
