I'm gonna go out on a limb(and probably get flamed for) saying that Weskit is still superior to Moriggan body for endgame situation. As Bluedemon said, the Elemental Skill is a nice bonus. Nivlakian ran some numbers, and came out to about 17 damage difference between Genie Weskit(I know most don't have, but he and I personally do so its relevent to us) and Moriggans. On an HNM situation, I'd daresay the 6(5 w/ NQ) Elemental Magic will probably be more beneficial then 17 more damage. Plus anyone with an Elemental Magic set for something like Bahamut 2 or Jailer of Love will still want to hang onto their Weskit for that very reason.

Don't get me wrong, I still plan on getting Moriggan body for solo, epeen, and all other situations, but I still plan on using my Genie weskit on anything that has a slightly decent resist rate. My first piece will probably be the hands though, because Macc on Zenith mitts, which most BLMs use 99% of the time, is pretty sexy.

When I get Morrigan's I'll sell genie weskit and pick up an NQ weskit for high-resist mobs. The robe completely owns Genie for damage so... no point in keeping it when I can just use an NQ with 1 less ele skill in the rare situaton when a mob might resist.

As for whether the entire Morrigan's set is best for nuking versus combining it with older armor... (for purely damage)

    - Body and legs... Morrigan's wins outright, not an issue. Keep the weskit for high-resist mobs. Toss mahatma slops.
    - Hands... Morrigan's = Zenith for damage. Still need zenith for Sorc. ring of course. Zenith+1 win but... most likely the set bonus will win out.
    - Head... Demon+1 has 2 more INT.
    - Feet... Yigit has same INT and 2 MAB on Morrigan's

So... as long as the "set bonus" from Morrigan's beats 2 INT and 2 MAB, it's the best armor to nuke in. I'm not 100% sure but depending on how strong the set bonus is, having the entire set should obsolete AF2 legs and possibly hands.

er, I dunno. I meant in the sense that ryko sent it to me over AIM and I posted it out of context here, I don't know if it was posted anywhere else on this forum.

Would of been more epic if the dalm was covered from the other sets of gear.

I'll say it again: anyone who thinks morrigan body/legs are for blm is a noob. rdm owns those pieces outright, as well as feet. Head and hands, meh I'll take or leave, then again i don't have a blm.

Anyone who thinks dalm is outright better for anything besides rdm tanking is a noob. If I had a whm or brd I'd consider getting one for difficulty of getting both body pieces, but morrigan's set is made of too much win. Only thing that would make it better is some magic acc, so i'm not losing frickin 15 skill worth of magic acc. Oh well.

And yes, you should have AF+1 body for resting noob, then you can stick morrigans in there for two less int/mnd on your enfeebles.

(flaming is not the responsibility of the poster. people referred to as "noob" are imaginary)

I don't think it's going to be possible to get both the Marduk and Morrigon bodies without first completing one full set, judging from the npc says. I take this as another choice SE is giving us, ala DM earrings or CoP rings. Not quite as permanent, but no doubt very damned long-term.

Imo, for a rdm, if you have a Dalmy + Errant, just pass the Morrigan to a blm. But if you don;t have dalmy, go ahead and lot the Morrigan pieces :/.

Being Elvaan Id use Dalmy for meriting. Mobs dont tend to live long enough to care how hard your one enfeeble past dia you had time to cast sticks. Dalmy on the other hand helps give me 1:1 MP ratio at 1038 mp and hp

Since I'm lazy, and don't really want to get into Salvage right now, I'm voting for my Dalmy on RDM since I just swap to it in between casts anyways, and that is pretty much all I would do with Morrigan's body.

Morrigan's body does looks pretty nice for BLM though and maybe macro gear on BLU, but I can live without it. Maybe someday when I cap merits I'll work on this set, but it will be a while.

stilgar, people have given the npc pieces from different sets without issues. No one has actually *gotten* pieces from different sets, but they can give the parts at least

BLM75, and hopefully RDM75 eventually : The Morrigan Robe is the sexiest thing SE has ever done for BLMs except possibly sea and the Halvung camp. Hell if I'm ever going to -get- it, but it's definitely right at this moment one of the most impressive pieces I can think of. Yeah, I'd still keep my Weskit for the elemental magic, but that (along with most BLM gear) is a situational thing. Even if, say, Weskit and Morrigan Robe had the same stats except one had Refresh and one didn't, the one with Refresh will almost always just win.

I can't speak for endgame RDM because I'm a long way away and I don't know the strengths of the various pieces of equipment, but I'd still wager this set is -amazing- for any of the jobs that can equip it. Curious as to what the overall MAB is for having the whole set.

for other jobs, dalma is losing interest regarding to new sets

    hi2u AF+1 Body
except af+1 body doesn't make make up that 2mnd difference between errant and morrigans

with my jobs: rdm whm nin (and planing on leveling brd) I'm personally will stick with the dalmatica+errant+af+1 body combo on rdm, and will probably use dalm mostly on brd

for my NIN I plan on droping some of (possibly all) of my 6mp merits for extra hp, so the +50mp on dalm is highly desirbable. I also am shoting to get Usukane set for my NIN as that set intrest me a ton more then Morrigan's ever will.

    -Special Consideration-
some people have been making good progress in Salvage however...
Others (many) are still struggling, I've done two runs and both times we made it to the 4th floor and killed a few mobs before timing out. We've gotten some of the Lv15 pieces but no lv25 or lv35 drops (killed that chariot NM on floor 4 in bhaf remn: no drops > )

based on my past king experience I feel that 2-4 dalms drop on average each month (may vary based on your server's luck)

at the current rate we probably won't see a marduk or morrigan body on anyone for 1-2 months (maybe even longer before the first one is made)
Once one is made I'm sure people will get better at salvage and the amount we see being made will pick up, but it's gonna be awhile before it comepares to how many dalmatica's you have runing around.

I'd be overjoyed with any of the pieces, would make a nice change from the old trusty Vermy macro. But then beggars can't be choosers.
