We've tried 1F Madame before and we brought a lot of hi pots and still ran out and had to use cells on the Gent. I don't remember us ever having a problem with 3F Madame really, you gotta clear a lot of that for cells anyway. That big room really doesn't take that long to clear out.

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

Is Discoid still broken? They fixed the gear restoral thingy, dunno about Discoid.

I also need a suggestion, wanting to farm the fourth floor Madame, the one that pops if you get to 4th floor in under 30 mins, what do you suggest?
Small group (6 people) getting up fast killing possibly only stuff in the first room of the 4 wings on 1st floor, then going up NE and killing lizards, possibly all mamool included to get gear, then up let someone invi/flee to the porter, while someone else farms some HP/MP cells on the west path (can manage to farm at least 3-4 mobs I'd say).

If you made in in time, there is another room with mamools (harder tho) which you can pull and fight to get more HP/MP/stats. Paying attention because the BLU mamools can use 1000 needles and that can fuck up easily, especially if you don't have enough humilus cells yet.

At that point how do you suggest to handle the NM? As much as we managed to kill this NM once, we tried 2 sac pulls but they didn't work, the NM wasn't following outside of the room like all the other poroggos.
Should we let the THF Sacpull some Poroggos, we pull them from the sac two at a time, sleeping one and killing the other, and repeat this each time Hide is ready, until we can manage to make a clean pull on boss?
This would mean wasting the whole run on this NM tho.
But honestly, is it worth to try to haste things up? There's nothing more we can do on such a run, no 5th floor nm, no 6th floor nm, and we can hardly kill Boss, since we'll be highly ungeared due to time constraints to get to 4th floor in under 30 mins.
Feels like a bit of waste to do a run just for a single NM that drops level 15 gear. What can you people suggest my group?

Seen the bad experiences with sacpulls, I would like to take it slowly and clean the room from all the poroggos (getting some cells meanwhile luckily), so that we can focus on the NM without being afraid about him not coming out of the room, or about him, walking back to the room with us while we're charmed. (which can happen, if you leave normal poroggos alive, and you don't pull NM far enough from his original position in the room).

    Discoid's fine now.

Not that it help us any, since we got Ares legs and Skadi gloves for the 4th time. >.>

We've done the 4th floor madame twice and I must say it was actually a lot easier than I had anticipated. Both times we had ample farming time to even farm some cells on the 3rd floor before worrying about immediately tele'ing up. One time we used a 5man group, the 2nd time we used a 6man group ignoring the usual THF pt slot and implementing another DD or BLM for stun. PT setups were something along the lines of mnk, vokejob, brd, rdm, blm. We basically only farmed the center 4 rooms on floor 1, went up NE since those lizards drop a wider range of cells, cleared, killed mamool and ported up. We farmed west on the next floor until we had about 2 minutes left until the deadline and ported up. We cleared the 6 mamool to the east so we had a safe area to fight the madame. Our first 4th floor Madame was literally our first ever madame and we tried the everyone within charm range which F'n sucked when it charmed us all at 1% and died yellow to DOT with no drops lol. After that completely wasted run I changed our strategy to only the mnk meleeing, no one else within 25' unless a TP move goes off and a rdm needs to cure/haste or the blm needs to run in and stun a big -ga. When the mnk gets chorus'd the rdm runs in and immediately binds PM while the BLM sleepga's the charmed mnk. If you entered on ice day just gravity instead, doesnt really matter it just locks her for a second while the 2nd melee runs in and vokes and begins to tank. Once the mnk uncharms he comes out of 25' and this cycle of 1 tank at a time is cycled until the PM is dead. I know its not as fast as some other groups strategies but it works for us when we pop 5+6 also. As for the pull our brd was actually the sac puller for both if I remember right since we needed the 2nd tank, "needed" blm for stun, and needed the rdm for haste/cures, it left him lol. I really didnt think it was going to work....at all but he claimed one gent, ran to the far corner of the room as 20 frogs chased him and PM was pulled successfully twice with a ranged attack, hojo, or dia. I think he was able to survive long enough for us to pull PM out of the room and to the empty Mamool room because the gent's like to cast a spell instead of immediately meleeing. As you said the rest of the run is pretty wasted, I think we went up and farmed some cards or something but ya give everyone a break and let them take off 40 mins early

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

They corrected it with the Gear's Restoral sneakpatch then, appearently.
And it makes sense, since the cause of the problem was the same (a multiplier for elemental affinity gone from 1.25 to 12.5).

Thanks for confirming it, we never killed BCC so far, we tried only once but were short on time (lost too much on sixth floor, our whm went afk on 5th =/)
Everything was going fine anyway, seemed like a smooth fight.
I think the order of difficulty, from easiest to hardest, for bosses is

ACC > BCC > LAC > LBC, right?

Actually LAC too isn't that hard honestly, but Brainjack just makes it slow, and interrupts your rhytms of fight, plus sometimes it can just mess things up when he does it at the worst possible moment.
ACC is easycake, LBC is a pain but we killed it (without the gears gimping thing)

We tried twice as well. First time we wasted soooooo much time on 4th floor trying different things to pull it, in the end we killed but couldn't manage to lot in time, so 2 items went to waste, one went to the right person luckily, lol.
    Second time we still had some trouble pulling, but we did it, I lost lot tho ; ;

That's an interesting strategy, I'll discuss, the other time we used the "everyone stay in range" strategy. We too had 6 or 7 people. So you confirm my idea that this run is easier with low numbers, right? Because of the same problem, you don't have much time to farm cells, and cells in Zhayolm do not grow up from the ground like in Bhaflau and Silver Sea, so the more people you have, the harder it will be to unlock them.

As for pull usually we had a THF do a semisac (meaning he pulled then used hide to deaggro and remain alive). We were in the corner between the room with the teleporter for 5th floor, and the porter on which you arrive from 4th. THF was sacpulling to the room with mamools (which we had cleaned) and we had to pull Madame from his train.
Problem is that we tried 3 times, maybe more, but sometimes the Madame really doesn't want to follow the others, it just doesn't want to go out of the room, unlike the gents.
Might be wiser, as you suggested, to just have someone sac eveything INSIDE the room, so that someone can step in, and pull the Madame alone, hoping she will follow while the gents kill whomever did the sac.

Might work better, but that would mean fighting with one less member.
Well... not like the NM itself is that hard, is more the tricky pull that makes it hard, the mob itself is a joke.

    Thanks for the welcome suggestions

Your welcome for the suggestions, my only other tip is to hammer into the brd and rdm not only in /p but also in /tell DO NOT GO WITHIN 25' UNLESS ITS AN EMERGENCY. And theres no emergency for a brd to be within 25' unless a TP move just went off, and stress a nuke is not a TP move unless its after providence lol. It's taken us a handful of regular PM farming runs for the brd not to immediately run in when songs drop or the tank not to say OMG I NEED HASTE/songs when they drop.

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

We have been doing it something like:

1F: farm 4 inner rooms, sending someone to the NE portal once we clear the Ziz.
2F: farm the lizards, kill mamool, farm a few cells from the SE lizards and port up. I think maybe we should spend less time here to leave more for the next floor.
3F: Have someone waiting at the N portal to go up at the 29 minute mark. Everyone else goes west and farms as much as possible.
4F: Everyone but the RDM and the THF go hang out in the portal room. The THF uses /ra on a gent, runs west (making sure to link all gents near the madame, and possibly also the madame); RDM pulls the madame and runs east to the party. THF hides when the madame is safely away. Once it dies, if we have enough time we try to farm the mamools for HP and do the boss. Usually don't have enough time for this because those mamools have a terrible drop rate, which is why I think our next run will give 3F more time.

As for the madames themselves, we tend to have 2 melee on them (2x MNK, MNK+WAR, MNK+SAM, whatever we have along). Everyone stays in charm range until about 5% HP, and only then do the mages clear out. I constantly spam Requiem on the thing, so all charmga does is waste a minute.

I guess it's probably more time-efficient to have only 1 melee in charm range at a time, but this way has been safer for us so far. We haven't really done many Zhayolm runs yet, so maybe once we get more used to it, we can try changing the strategy. It'd be nice if we had enough time to do 5FN+6F+boss.

I do have a question about the 4F madame pull. Sometimes, we have a SMN along; they are pretty good for keeping the madame claimed and kiting if everyone else gets charmed. I was under the impression that the frogs aggro'd to JAs, so Carby-pulling the 4F madame was not possible (I think I read that on here somewhere). However, on a 4F run at which I was not present, the SMN claims to have done a Carby pull with no problems. Am I just crazy?

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

    Hello guys

Well i need some strat or something to go up and kill megaboss.

Routes, time, cell farming, how much ppl.

How muhc ppl i need for a safe Zhayolom boss??? without farming nms of course.

we always farm inner rooms but we end up clearing a wing for subs or jas or magic,

    lets think about this.

    we go with 6 ppl.

    discoid 4400 / 6 = 733.33 dmg

thats huge, one discoid will drain a lot of MP for tanks and all pt members.

Whats the best setup for this, how much ppl, what cells to farm, which ones are useless for mages (jas sub, weapons, gear) which ones for melee..

The damage is reduced by Shell, and eaten by Stoneskin. Shell5 will reduce that to 550 or so, and the mages should all have Stoneskin on, bringing that down even lower.

Not trying to be an ass here but theres about 60+ pages in this thread you can review. There are various strategies posted on different routes to take, exact times it takes groups to kill/port up do a little, or even better, a lot of hunting. Also BG wiki has some great specific information for the floors.

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

The best way to do it is make the plan yourself. I formulated and plotted out every salvage zone for my group, and adjusted and changed it based on how our playstyle and jobs fit in. Its easy to get to boss in zhayolm in an hr without going for any nms and being fully geared for the most part. Unless you're capable of killing, moving, and pulling at the same rate as my group, me telling you what I do is meaningless to you.

In short, kill what you have to, skip what you dont.

If I get an opportunity in the near future I'll test this. (full barspell merits + body) but I don't have much time to dick around in game anymore so I'm not sure if/when I can do a controlled test.

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

the really nice thing about this zone is that you can basically guarantee your drops on 1F; so you can plot every single one of those out ahead of time.

on 2F you'll have an idea of what you can potentially get so if your cell caller is on the ball you'll be able to get those sorted easily too.

only recommendation I have is that if you go for 5FN madame you should hold all your ranged (unless you get 4+) and dupe them with the socket.

if you get 3 you could skip duping I guess but then you'll need to unlock your bard which is kind of a waste of cells. (even if you wanted to be generous to a bard they have no real use for stat cells outside of chr)

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

I always go with 10 because of that discoid move, but i didnt know shell reduce it.

    Gonna try it.

To the person who suggest me to read the pages, well im fully aaware of those strats, What im asking is the best way to improve yoru speed to go up. Like what gear for mages what gear for tanks etc.

Anyway guess i will try this 6 man.
