I've been charmed right after hitting Flee in Dynamis before, and was able to mow down a good few people. You definitely get enhanced movement speed as normal.

There might be an across the board reduction in movement speed, or it might all be attributable to the absolutely awful pathing you get when charmed..

I don't remember seeing this mentioned (if it was, I'll feel dumb), but if a NIN just walks up to the 6F chariot and does Mijin Gakure, the gears do not spawn. Have them whack or voke it first >.>

Have them try to pull it safely first. If they know when to pull it, you can snag the chariot without any gear links at all, and it makes things a little easier to kill the chariot first. We usually have our THF do it so that if he does aggro, he can kite around until he's shaken all but 1, which he usually brings back and solos while we kill chariot.

Easier because later on you don't get links or is there something i missed?

(On another note, if you happen to have a pet job, pet pulling the charriot to pop the gears and kill it first works perfectly well)

maybe a little easier because you're engaging with full mp? idk

we just clear all the gears and then do the chariot with an huge open room to mess around in *shrugs*

Whm/smn makes 6th floor chariot pull np.

Send fenrir or titan to the chariot, hit it and hit retreat asap. Chariot and any gears will move to your camp with in the few seconds and upon death the chariot comes on his own to your mnk or sam's whilst the rest of your group kill the other gears. Can clear the gears and chariot at the same time.

I definitely don't recommend this strat lol.
Sounds like if you mess up you will easily MPK your whole group..

I guess I'm at risk for getting whooshed, but giving a sj cell to whm just for the purpose of preventing someone from having to sac isn't very efficient. XP is easy, and like sed said, the smn pull is pretty dangerous and could end up costing you a bunch of time if you end up wiping.

All gears always link to the chariot, no matter what... right?

Has anyone ever killed the chariot before the gears? If so, will the 6F door unlock? There are probably methods to circumvent the gears (depending on their hate sharing with the chariot), but it'd be tricky... Maybe SCH could land graviga on them and kite?

It's been a while, I believe only the triple gears link to the chariot, but all single/triple gears link to each other.

And no, you HAVE to kill the entire room minus the ramparts in the side rooms to open door to the boss.

It's not just the chariot, it's been confirmed many times.

I guess my point was that you have to clear the room no matter what, so why bother with a risky strategy when you can just send your group to the door while the thf sac pulls the chariot to a wall and your group starts clearing gears from south to north. Simple as pie, no risk involved. All of the gears have set movement patterns, so it's easy to pull them link free and kinda methodically move along towards the chariot.

So the only real point to pet pulling is to save someone at most 1200 xp, which is 10 minutes in campaign. 8)

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

I can asure you its quite safe, anyone who's even dibbiled with smn solo when leveling will know the basic works. You wait till the chariot is off to a side so your pet doesnt have to live -that- long, you have enough time for it to roam to you before the gears are even aggro-able again. If you want to have even safe mesure, have a mnk or war chi or voke it. Its really is no risk at all. I belive its been said somewhere before in this thread (Somewhere in here lol).

When i do zhaylom i run with 9 people. Mnk Mnk Whm Brd Rdm (War, War goes to pt 2 on 6th) / Thf blu (nice for boss belive it or not) Rdm. 1st pt will kill the chariot while 2nd pt kills the gear's, Usualy they have half the room cleared before the chariot is dead. Saves like 5 mins on 6th floor clearance total time.

Gears which link to the chariot(With a pet pull, they dont link at all, they roam in the centre between the triple gear patrols, when you pet pull the chariot) are 2 triple and 1 single, there are 12(I think) triple gear's total on 6th besides chariot and chariots gears.

I really do not like any deaths in a salv, each one costs time, they do happen but rarely for my group, this is why i am not keen on the sac idea, the smn pull has never failed to pull the chariot once yet.

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

Death pull doesn't cost time, the sole purpose of death pulls is to save time.

The 3 main DDs that we have fully unlocked are enough to clear the whole floor in 10-15 minutes ( mnk mnk drk or mnk mnk sam), those gear/s have very low HP (darkness SC owns them) and die fast. I always consider that, in Zhayolm, any extra member except the 6 of the main pt, are just sac pull and treasure hunter placeholders! So I only give them magic or weapon, depending which wing we do on 1F, and I insist that they should just watch us on 6F ( they won't have HP or ability so..).

Also, I've been told many times it doesn't work, but on a JP run the whm/smn succeeded a carby pull, without taking special caution.

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

Mdk: I disagree. I think anyone above 6 can be a very valued member of the group if you play your cards right.

We run with WHM/SCH, BRD/WHM, RDM/WHM, MNK/NIN, MNK/NIN, DRK/SAM (<- first party), COR(SJ depends), BLM/RDM, THF (<- second party). Everyone gets magic (except the COR if not WHM sub), everyone gets SJ, and typically everyone gets abilities. We normally keep weapons to the 6, as WHM RDM BRD don't really need.

The COR and RDM will switch once the COR is functional and when it matters (usually before 3FS madame or 5FN madame depending on what we do) and roll Monk's and Chaos. WHM with SCH sub and those Refreshes is incredible for keeping the party cured. The DRK will usually switch with the RDM again for boss.

All 3 melee are able to attack the chariot and it goes down in about 5-6 minutes. The rest of the room is easier because you're simply moving from one end to the other, and most importantly, when the room is cleared you're already at the porter. Everyone moves to it, WHM does buffs, swaps, buffs again, and we port up. Boss takes 3 to 6 minutes depending on chests and COR 2hr, leaves us with 5-15 minutes for lotting, depending on charm luck.

I think all of 6F takes us about 11-13min? Our "sac puller" doesn't die because with Skadi boots and flee, you can kite them around the room indefinitely. Eventually, he loses aggro on any gears except maybe 1, and comes back and kills it by himself, or the DRK or one of the MNKs will peel off the chariot and help him. More often than not, however, the gears won't even link, because they don't autolink. They simply link if the chariot is in their sight change when they all pop.

Also, both the singles and triples can link to the chariot, all archaic machinery links with each other.

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

yea I have kited them until they loose aggro, same as our rdm with W.leg, but it's simpler to just die and reraise, I think.

Every one does salvage differently. We have sticked to the "6 people of main PT only" strategy because each time we had 2nd pt help, they were MP sponging and the rdm of 2nd pt spend the 11 minutes of 1F raising people.. The 2-3 of 2Nd pt now are only helpful for floors 1-2-3 speed up, and sacs.

I disagree too. My group usually has 2-3 extras and I make it a point to equip everyone with Magic, Ability, SJ and Weapon.

Thankfully, one of the extras will be a RDM (myself usually) since I am too busy distroing cells to keep up refresh and haste cycles. Best part is the side part can take part of cells by itself. For countering madames, I usually go RDM/DRK while the main RDM goes /WHM.

RDM with full cells can solo Puks and Ziz (need to watch petrify though, best to have 2 people) so side party can split off early to do Puks or slightly later to do Ziz. MNK with full cells on 1F can solo anything so I send 1 to kill extra Raptors after mid-Raptor room done...Nowadays my group does a 3-way split with more than 6 and 2-way split with 6. Usually we manage to get enough cells for everyone in about 15 min. And no particularly relic equips either.

Other jobs that can solo include BLM (slow due to MP issues) or BLU. Pure melee jobs will require some potion supplies.

However since we added 1F madame to the fray (by clearing Puk wing), we now take about 25-30 min to clear 1F. In the time the main group takes to clear for extra SJ, my solo mnk even has enough time to clear out half the Puk wing The other teams will go join him when done with their own tasks. On the way, we also hit some Mamools to see if we can get fanatics for 5F.

The way I see it is you'll get back the extra time invested pretty quickly. Madames become easier, and regular mobs become cake. Furthermore, everyone can enjoy the full benefits of their job (minus being naked) and not be bored to death in the 100 min, so why not?

And 1 THF, 1 BLM can nail all the gears in the first room of 5F without death and no fanatics. Just remember to /logout at the top of the stairs. Always simpler with fanatics though, about 25-50%? rate on 1F Mamool chests.

    --------------
The 6F Ramparts in the side rooms doesn't appear to link with the chariot or gears. Or loses aggro real quick even if it does. If using the flee > lose aggro method, can try running into the side room first, before hugging walls in the big room. I tried once on RDM with 2 powder boots. Lost aggro on everything at about the same time the 2nd powder boots wore off.

    --------
Madames went easy on us today, so we had 26 min to spare after clearing 6F Madame.

    Re: Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

Just another reason to bring PUP to salvage.

One of our members bring PUP to salvage fulltime and he recently discovered a way to spawn gears on 6th floor without getting himself killed. PUP will need magic cell though. Not entirely sure about the details but this is what I think he has been doing - engage with BLM automaton and let puppet cast nuke while the PUP runs away from chariot, as soon as nuke lands dismiss automaton and chariot will not go after the PUP.

Also I am sure this has been mentioned before - the easiest way to get pass first gear room on 5th floor. I usually save VIT cell from 3rd floor. After porting up to 5th floor, THF PD pull all gears to where we first ported up while the rest of the team move to Madame room. Since I am still not fully unlocked Madame won't be up. THF can then hit flee. By the time he gets to Madame room all gears will have lost aggro.

I usually make it a case to get everyone magic and weapons, and abilities if possible. What Mdk meant is that we gear up the main party first, and after that the extras get the spares that might be over. Can usually get off first floor within 20 min. We usually save magic or ability, depending on what we get from first chest, to duplicate on second floor. That way everyone have magic, ability and weapon (except me, as I don't need neither ability nor weapon as WHM), with no extra time spent. Equipment on the other hand, they don't get, unless its, say, TH4, or we get some extras in Silver Sea, Arrapago or Bhaflau. Which we usually do.

edit: in case you're wondering, we save rings and ranged too, unless we know it is possible to get 3 people unlocked (read: use only after at least 3 have dropped). If at least 3 don't drop, we duplicate those instead. However, that is rarely the case, and we can usually get by with duping weapon/ability/magic, entirely depending on which route we chose to take and what drops from first chest.
