Still extremely easy for a good group to hit f5 + 6 and boss in one run, even if frogs spam charmga we never finish with less than 10mins left and if frogs are compliant can finish with as much as 25~ mins.

    How is that extremely easy?

Doing f5 + f6 + boss in zhayolm takes good coordination and a certain level of experience in salvage, don't get discouraged if your two-week old salvage group has trouble getting this done because you see people post things like this.

Why would a 2 week old group expect to be awesome in Salvage anyway? A 2 week old group can't expect to be as good as groups that's done Salvage for over 2 years.

As I wrote earlier, practice and patience.

It doesn't take anything other than clearly defining what you are going to farm on f1 and f2.

If you are entering with 6 you only need to farm the inner 4 rooms, you will end up with 6 weapons, 5 SJs and 5 or 6 Magic or 5 or 6 Ability (depending on the chest). Your thf or whm shouldn't need SJ and your thf shouldn't need magic (if your thf isn't very well equipped give the whm SJ and let the thf be without either). Takes 8-9mins on floor 1 as the bard should've sung his songs in ziz room and headed off to teleport whilst the other 5 clear out the last 2 rooms (only 2 drop in each room so its good to sleep and move to next room once 2 drop or avoid aggro).

Floor 2 port up on NE side and kill the 8 lizards fast, hold 1 rings or 1 ranged cell if needed to dupe, otherwise dupe a body cell. The frog has very low hp and the room is easy to kite in so have your rdm and whm stand at 21ish from the frog to avoid charm. Farm the back left group of mobs in each of the other 3 rooms giving the first 3 pieces to your 2 DDs and rdm is how we normally do it, the 4 piece of gear can go to whoever it will benefit most (e.g hands > thf if he has AF2). Kill an extra 2 wyverns near the slot and pop/kill jakko in N room (this will also result in 6 heads enough for everyone). You should aim to be porting up from here at roughly 25-30mins.

Floor 3 just go south and rape everything in the first 3 rooms, this will always unlock full stats for 3 people and you will normally get enough hp and mp to suffice also. Depending on what you prefer doing you can keep killing the last room then the rampart and frog or you can port up to f4 and kill that frog (f4 is potentially a lot quicker but its harder to pull unless you sack it).

Floor 5 have your brd troub/night songs and use flee boots with RR/blink/SS to train to the tele whilst others go kill frog. This is the only frog in the zone where its wise to have everyone in charm range so DoTs are more important, use Dia2 > Bio2 to keep it from regenning, but without your brd its very difficult to make sure there is always 1min~ on DoT so luck will play a factor.

Floor 6 frog is much more simple as you can have rdm and whm stand outside charm range and kite again, you can use the whole room and the chariot won't aggro. When its dead everyone goes to the door to teleporter while thf shoots the chariot and attempts to loose aggro on everything. While he is doing that start pulling gears, they have lower hp than counterparts in other zones I have found, but cannot be slept, easy enough to pull without links though.

I don't think it takes much practice to be able to do this zone as it does with SSR, there are no tricky pulls, the mobs are always the same and drop static cells apart from a few on f2 and hp/mp on f3 but with TH these are very very rarely a concern. Even if frogs decide to use chorus every other tp move its still possible to do everything with a comfortable amount of time left and f5 is the only frog that should ever get a chance to regen.

I wouldn't recommend duping body. You usually get enough body cells anyway. I'd recommend duping ability in case you get 2 magic from start chest.

Hadn't thought of doing that, makes more sense than duping body.

W/e I didn't say it was difficult, saying that it is extremely easy is an exaggeration though.

Uzor! Don't say duping in a Salvage thread!

Honestly, I personally think that Killkenny's kind of attitude is not only incorrect, but damnably frustrating.

After you have done Salvage many times, just like anything, it becomes easier. That being said, it is not easy for any two-week only group with no previous experience to do any Salvage zone, let along Zhayolm.

In fact, it often takes several weeks worth of runs within just one zone to get everyone accustomed to the event, and even further time to perfect it. There are many factors that can easily slow down any kind of group in Salvage. Zhayolm takes more pre-planning than other runs and lots of lotting coordination. Now this is second nature for a seasoned group, but it just is not the case for a newer group.

This kind of attitude is completely unhelpful to those that are having problems with the zones, and it really is unnecessarily arrogant.

And personally, after reading Killkenny's advice for doing Zhayolm I don't know if he is in a very good position to be giving advice. Everyone should do what is best for them in a Salvage zone, but I can tell you from my experience, no one in my group ever had to bring anything besides food to runs. Some of suggestions in Killkenny's post are over-wrought, and can be done much more simply. Also the time suggestions that he has are pretty extreme even for an experienced group, and makes very specific assumptions about party make up.

Do what works, but don't act like you didn't struggle when you first started. Everyone did. Everyone.

His times aren't that extreme imo. We usually zone up to 3F at around 22-25 minutes when we do 2 > 4 > 5 > 6 > boss. His strategy is very similar to the one I use. When giving advice, you naturally give the advice you find best, unless someone else that asked for advice mentioned certain conditions (for example party set up).

I didn't see anything about bringing anything besides food in his post though, so dunno about that. He might have edited it?

Doing 4 is rather time sensitive, and is completely unnecessary when you could just do 3 instead while getting everyone HP and MP without any fear of not getting it done.

Also, his strategy requires the BRD to use flee boots to kite the gears on the 5th floor.

    Overwrought and unnecessary.

I agree that is unnecessary. BRD can do it without flee boots, but I prefer doing it with THF.

And yes, you can do it with 3F too. Just saying his times aren't extreme and actually reachable.

Any group thats got well equipped people who are capable of following instruction shouldn't take more than 4-5 tries at each zone before they are capable of doing everything in that zone (the exception to this would be F4N frog + F5 + F6 and boss). If you've been doing salvage several months are still having a hard time doing this (assuming 4-6 runs per week) then you are clearly lacking something. Whether its well gear enough DDs or a good stratergy there is clearly something missing.

I wrote out the strat my group uses for ZR which is formed from following the information on wiki and here and then actually going out and doing it myself. After our first ZR run we finished f6 frog with 7 minutes left (felt like light years away from managing boss in same run). Then 3 runs later after having thought about what cells are really needed and what we can afford to skip, people knowing what to expect and just generally more confidence in the zone we did boss in same run with a bit of time to spare.

A pair of powder boots cost like 8-9k and have 20 uses so they aren't exactly a major expense. I never said "do it this way or you will keep failing" I just simply outlined how we do it, it may be a detailed and specific stratergy but it was my personal experience with the zone so get over yourself.

Also I left the option of doing floor 3 or floor 4 frog based on what your groups capable of, most groups won't be able to hit F4N in the same run as 5 and 6 but it is an option and saying its completely unnecessary is stupid. If you can save your having to dedicate an entire run to farming floor 4N frog you would because it means you can kill more NMs and get more drops which is basically the only reason these threads still get posted in.

I never suggest a 2 week old group will be doing this because "good group" factors in experience and gear with players who actually pay attention and learn the zones (I have done salvage in the past where we would hit a ceiling because some members just would never learn or get any better/faster). My group is nothing special (apart from my relic there is nothing that sets us apart from others) you just need members who get better at the zone every time and not ones who sit there waiting to be told every single thing.

Teamwork and persistence. The keys to salvage.

My group does not have any relics however depending on who shows up (and how charm spamy the Madame are) we can often do 2Fx2, 3FS, 5FN, 6F, Boss with time left over.

Its "easy" in that after many many runs the only variable factors in time usage become Party Members attending (job configs), and Madame TP moves; since cells are largely static drops.

I just have a question on how do most people do the 6th floor frog now? I usually have a group mnk/rdm/brd/thf/drk/blu. We try to do the 4 inner rooms and go up NE. clear NE and mamool and pop frog and kill the 2-3 lizs/wyverns in the back of the room for hands feet head, kill jakko and go up. clear most of the hp/mp/stat nms and clear the north side for 15 hands, skip 4th floor, 5th floor is usually where we kill the frog with some difficulty due to choras spam and by that time we have 10-15 mins and time out on the next frog. any suggestions and sry if its been posted before

If you don't need the 15 hands from F3N then it will save you time to just clear out the south instead of backtracking after unlocking stats. Other than that I can't see any ways for you to change strat, just a question of killing faster.

Floor 5 frog should only take 10mins max on a bad day, if its taking longer then you are probably letting it regen. If your brd isn't already make sure he tries to keep requiem on as best he can (unless you enter on lightsday), and if your mages are competant then rdm + whm can reliable stay alive for 60 seconds even in such a small room.

Floor 6 frog is not nearly as bad because you can always have mages stand out of range and kite around the huge room and chariot doesn't aggro either.

How many people do you enter with, any more than 6 tends to slow our runs down due to the added time on f1 to get things like brd weapon so he can land requiem better.

We usually enter with 6 mnk, brd, rdm, drk, blu, thf. Ill try for the other frog instead, and should I be killing jakko? I know they say its updated just never really read anything about it yet.
