Salvage: Zhayolm Remnants

Wouldn't it make more sense that Lv35 dropped off the same Madames that drop Lv15 just like in Silver Seas since there is some parallel between those two. NMs drop Lv15 and Lv35 as a rare drop.

Just like how Bhaflau and Arrapago are somewhat parallel; Lv15 drop off normal mobs; Lv35 are rare drop from NMs.

You'd think so. yet the 3F Poroggo Madame drops 2 different Lv. 15s (not sure if one or both are 100%). Plus, if you do it that way you end up with a mismatch. There's 6 Lv. 15s in the zone (one is from Card), and 6 Lv. 35s. Since we already know where two of the Lv. 15s drop, that means we have 3 remaining Madames, 3 remaining Lv. 15s, and 6 remaining Lv. 35s. Doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, unless the remaining Madames dropped 1 Lv. 15 and 2 Lv. 35s each, which would be rather odd.

There's only 5 Poroggo Madames in the zones. 1 is the slot NM, nowhere else in any other zone does a Slot NM drop more than 1 piece of Lv. 15 armor. The second one already has 2 drops attributed to it. So any way you slice it, that's 9 more drops, and 3 more Poroggos. I really don't think they drop 3 pieces of equipment each. Especially considering the asymmetry it would create, with one Poroggo dropping 2 pieces, and the rest dropping 3.

Misread. Thought you said 6 madames. While it would be very weird, that Fomor in Silver Sea ruins the symmetry of the drops there, and it seems there might be some messed up balance with Arrapago drops (with all the Qiqirn and stuff, but who knows). Also, the Don Poroggo drops 2 Lv.15 body armours, but that is because each area specializes in a certain lvl (Zhayolm/Silver Sea - Lv.15, Bhaflau - 25, Arrapago - 35).

Yea. And also, Slot NMs ONLY drop Lv. 15 bodies, and since only 1 Lv. 15 body comes from Zhayolm at all, I think that one definitely only has 1 drop.

While Silver Sea does spoil the symmetry a little, at least there's a pattern. I suppose you could argue that

2nd Floor Poroggo - 1 Drop
3rd Floor Poroggo - 2 Drops
4th, 5th, 5th Floor Poroggos - 3 Drops

follows an increasing pattern.

There are 8 Madames in the files. None on the first floor, the Socket one on floor 2, the HP/MP cell and the Ares/Morrigan hands ones both on floor 3, 2 more each on both 4 and 5, and one last one on floor 6. So there are 5 unaccounted for Madames spread across 3 floors, with 3 level 15 pieces and 6 35 pieces missing. Nothing (aside from bosses) carries more than 2 pieces of gear.

Interestingly enough (or not interesting at all) the 2 Madames that drop cells are the first listed mobs in the files on their floors. The other Poroggos, including the Ares/Morrigan hands one, are listed at the end of the floor. Also, that hands Madame is listed after the Rampart, which is where it pops. I'd speculate that the other Madames correspond to what they appear after, which for all of them but the floor 4 Madames, it's the Ramparts. The floor 4 Madames are listed after the Gents, which to me says the Ramparts are unrelated (which makes sense since the Ramparts already have a purpose on that floor).

More speculation: If I had to guess, I'd assume 3 of the Madames (4th, 5th, and 6th floor) drop 2 pieces of 35 gear with the typical gay drop rate, while the other 4th floor drops 2 15's and the other 5th floor drops the last 15. Hope this helps someone find something.

Maybe you have to kill the Gents after killing the Rampart? On floor 3 regular mobs+rampart is the trigger, i i could see it being possible that on floor 4 gents+rampart is the condition, where the only thing that changes is what order you have to kill them in.

This zone is easy O.O even the path to the boss. Just went in with ZERO MONKS and made it to the top floor. Killed about 6 of the Triple Gears and 1 Single Gear, wiped to the Archaic Chariot at 50%. because of our lack of melee firepower, we had a lot of trouble getting past the first floor in a timely manner, but we completely destroyed 2F, 3F, 4F, and 5F. probably 30 minutes combined for all of them. 6F we wiped right when the chariot was aggroed because I didn't know the gears pop all over. The map shows them as popping against the walls, which is TOTALLY FUCKING WRONG lol, they pop all over the room. So we wiped right away, lost 10 minutes there, got up and had 10 minutes left so just tried to throw random shit at the chariot and didn't know it was going to be so strong. 3 MNKs and 4 BLM and this zone would be a joke.

yes did my first zhayolm today with:

compared to arrapago it was a joke. got up to the 6th floor and killed everything except 1 gear and timed out. with a better front-loaded ally (more mnks!!) would have gotten off floor 1 faster and probably got to the boss.

chariot on floor6 is pretty tough.

Yar, we just did this one, and due to a few jobs and a few missing people, we just didn't have the manpower to clear the last floor.

If we had 1 more RDM for phalanx2/heal, aswell as 1 more MNK type of DD (maybe even a pup) I think we'd have cleared it, we only have 8 people though. We did blow a wad of time on the first floor.

Quick question regarding the socket. I know it doubles whatever you put in there so can you trade 8 cells and get 16 back? Or is the max 5 (10 back).

how did you go about killing the chariot?

have 2-3 melees on it at a time, everyone else stays out of range from normal tp moves but in range for discoid to split the damage (stoneskin helps)

took us about 18min to kill btw xD

has anyone actually tried clearing the 5th floor? or clearing the 4th floor AFTER hitting the wrong rampart?

Erm, I meant the one on the 6th floor. My LS never really tried to kill it since we were trying different methods to open the door, but when we did we had a bit of trouble (with a very similar setup to yours)
