For example, pulling the Madame out of the room of Gents would most likely require a sac pull. And the last info people posted here was getting to 4F in less than 45 mins wasn't fast enough. But I still haven't seen if it was the N or S side.
well there was a report of a Madame on the north side already. I plan to try this eventually, but need to do it on a random night when no runs are scheduled, since it's going to be more or less a wasted run. Maybe Sunday I can try? Doing 2 runs tomorrow, so need to save my permit from tonight.

Well my LS is doing a run tomorrow, but I'd like to know what we'd need to do to successfully get it to pop. We've wasted quite a few runs in the zone already and ended up frogless. I don't know if we'll try this again, or go to Arrapago and get no lvl35 drops after killing a bunch of NMs there. I guess it depends on how many MNKs show up. We have people 2/3 on a few pieces and could use drops from both zones.

I would just say keep a stopwatch. When you start hitting the 30-35 minute mark, start bolting. Spend very little time on the 2nd floor.

1st Floor Farm as much as you can, warp at 20-25 minutes.
2nd Floor enough mobs to get like 2 ring/earring -> warp
3rd Floor send someone to porter immediately, farm until 35 minute mark->warp.

The other option is to do what I planned on doing. Get 6 people tonight (since your run is tomorrow), just bolt up to the 4th floor without killing a single mob in the zone.

Just a few quick additions from our run last night:

We checked the door after each 3 Gear(s) went down, was sealed until the last (mono) gear fell. We killed the Chariot first.

    Discoid does wipe shadows.

No win due to short time, hittin it again tomorrow.

Could anyone doing this soon, who kills the chariot first, try to kill the single gears before the triple ones?

Would be nice to have a 100% confirmation that all are required, and so far it looks like everyone either kills gears first, or kills the singles last.

Where did that rumor start anyway?

I glanced through this thread looking for the source- I could swear someone here claimed getting gate breach w/o full clear. Has anyone cleared all the gears but not the Chariot (would require some sac'ing) ?

I did that a while ago but it's buried pretty far back, and you may have missed it.

So it's looking more like the conditions are "clear the entire floor, minus the Ramparts", although it could be something like, "kill the chariot, the 1-gears, and a random trigger 3-gear".
This doesn't confirm that every 3-gear is required, but it does confirm that killing the Chariot and the 1-gears is not sufficient to open the door, which leaves either all of the 3-gear or a single, random 3-gear.

Yes, we did that as well.

I finally figured it out. It's not a typo; it's called Discoid because the lazer guns are discoids.

Also, to actually contribute something here, this boss is quite possibly the easiest chariot a group could face, and they don't even need to be completely equipped. 100% > 30% in five minutes. It's so nice having something that doesn't charm, revolve, or home in on you. :D

By the "100%>30% in 5 minutes" I'm going to assume they engaged it w/ 5 mins left <.<

    Someone should ask Fobschoolboy haha.

Saturday run got cancelled, but hopefully should be doing a run at this tomorrow. I'm debating just sending 6 people fast up to the 4th floor. Something like:
NIN, MNK, MNK, BRD, RDM, BLM

Need 2 weapons (NIN & BLM), 3 abilities (NIN & MNKs), 3 SJs (NIN & MNKs), 6 magic though. Can pretty much skip the 2nd floor, get 3 max HP on the 3rd, 1-2 max MP, but won't wait up on it. Since it's possible to get the HP and MP on the 4th floor if needed. I'll send the BLM to the portals while we're fighting, and use the BRD to sac pull if needed for the madame. I figure that's about the bare minimum needed to kill a madame. Could just be possible for the MNKs to sub WAR, but assuming the NIN gets one shotted by Death, someone else to tank would be nice.

Anyhow following that I figure about 20 minutes on the 1F, ~2 minutes on 2F, ~6 minutes on 3F. So we should be able to get to 4F in under 30 minutes.

This is correct. I have to make it a practice to draw pix before every Salvage so folks can correctly identify chariots and ramparts. We wasted over five minutes on the sixth floor because the person I asked to hit the Archaic Chariot (to pop the gears) decided to... run all the way to the NW rampart and pull it instead. Of course, ramparts move so goddamn slow that we didn't figure out what was wrong until the puller finally came into view, dragging the floating door behind.

Anyway, we engage the boss just as the 5-min warning comes up and I said we would just smack BC around for practice since we probably wouldn't kill him. It was going so well that I was afraid we'd finish it off just as we got booted, which happened on an earlier LBC.

Tonight, due to missplanning on the 1st floor, some screwups on the 2nd floor, and unlucky HP/MP drops on the 3rd floor, we only had about 8 min for the boss and timed out before it died. However, I discovered something important, Discoid is most definitely stunnable. He used it 7 or 8 times over the course of the fight, and I successfully stunned 5 times, the only times I tried (the other 2-3 I couldn't try because my timer was down, including once when he used it back-to-back immediately after stun wore). He also doesn't seem to build a resistance. Bhaflau I've seen resist stun after 3-4 stuns fully-equipped, today I never saw one even with only INT+15 (if that even matters), Dark+5 from back, and no staff. Anyhow, two hasted BLMs should be able to stun it every time, assuming he never goes back-to-back-to-back (in which case just keep enough people around to eat it).

Aircommand is now saying due to numerous scattered "unconfirmed" reports of Madame NMs in 4th-6th floors, they wish to start collecting statistics:

    4F N, 4F S, 5F N, 5F S, 6F

Report the amount of time it took you to reach the floor, and also the amount of time to reach each previous floor (so like 1F 20m, 2F 10m, 3F 5m).

He seems fairly convinced that this is the condition for all of the Madames, so it's just a matter of nailing down exact times. I would strongly encourage people to go help with testing these theories. Also, I made an error in translation with an earlier article it seems. the Lv. 15 pieces actually drop from the 4F S madame apparently, and the 4F N Madame is thought to drop 35 pieces. My guess is 3 Lv. 15s guaranteed from the 4F S NM, and 2 Lv. 35s each from 4F N, 5F, and 6F.

Sounds like a strategy for Battleclad chariot is to bring some Monks, a RDM/DRK, chainspell stun, and beat the holy living hell out of him, perhaps?

I think the simple fact that this is exactly the kind of strategy that won't work is why some people hate salvage so much.

When we do this zone, we normally take the south route and do some card farming. We usually just kill the ramparts on the 4th floor fast and then port up to the 5th floor so I haven't really looked around much.

Is there a certain area on these floors where we should be looking for this NM?

I'm guessing in the room with the Gents, but even that's not confirmed. Common belief is arrival time <45 minutes, although another popular one is arrival time <40 minutes. If you reach the 4th floor in >45 minutes, I wouldn't even bother because it almost definitely isn't up.

Well, it certainly doesn't bother me if it doesn't (if you were trying to imply that) but I was wondering if it was applicable for this boss. Our method for LBC is usually to take things slow and steady for the first 50% or so, then up the tempo at that point. On a number of our failed runs, we always managed to take him down to the 55% mark or so.

Either way, Discoid being stunnable is something of a relief.
