Well the 5th floor south Madame has been reported to drop Marduk body by some JP group, so the 4th floor south madame needs to be killed more.

Should try to figure out the pop window for 4F N madame since most people need that ._. We know that its not 40-45min like the S one. Maybe 35-40 or 45-50?
South madames - 1 drop (Marduk each?), North madames - 2 drops (lv. 35-wise)? What exactly did the JPs say?Originally Posted by divisortheory
Not sure. Just that on a previous post on this thread someone mentioned reading about a JP group who were aiming for the 5th floor Madame since they had heard it drops Lv. 35 Marduk Body. Could be nothing though, and the original source wasn't quoted.Originally Posted by Sagacious Sundi
Also, I think 5F N should be the next priority. If it does something different (drops considerably less items in the chest, not chest at all, lvl 35 drop on first kill, drops a whole bunch of cells, etc.) then we know something is.. I don't remember what I was going to say.
We ported up to 4F(N) today at 45min 10sec, with the intention of testing 45-50 window. Used same conditions as south, and no Madame was up. 4F took us too long to test 55-60 on 5F, and there was nothing on 6F when we ported up near the end.
4 Zhayolm Cards off of the north path triple gears tho.
Working on Route 1 armor pieces at the moment, and since everyone and their cousin wants some body armor I'm aiming to farm some Zhayolm cards soon.
Any advice on the most efficient path to take to farm them off archaics would be appreciated. Likely taking 9-12 people on the run.
South path the entire way, farm the hell out of floor 5. Or, for what seemed like higher drop rates, North path, but it's annoying.Originally Posted by Rho
So We went to this zone again today to test, and got slaughtered 5 floor lol cause we were basically testing the madames. I accidentally went to the 4th south and naturally the madame was up we ported up @ 46 min. We missed the 50-55 window (which is what it is i think not 55-60) if thats the case it wasnt up. We killed south madame to drop a chest which brings me to a theory that the zone is split to a point that south doesnt meet north, untill floor 6 when north and south are one.) Anyways back to the point, I think all South madames drop chests, and nothing more. We had a /rng today but apparently his widescan wasn't working or had a glitch of some sort so we didnt know if north madame was up. But If you look at it 3rd south drops 5 hp / mp cells, and north drops items guarnteed, 4th floor north prolly drops the guarnteed also , and 5 and 6th however u freaking spawn them drop the 35's. We went up to the 6th floor and killed the ramparts and has anyone killed them without them spawning the manticores? Maybe its an option they give you, We killed one without assist summons, but one manticore did spawn which was a bitch to kill with 7 it had a ton of hp and defense but it did drop a chest with some amazing items for the boss or chariot so i guess its either spawn the madame or make charriot fight easier. If thats the case of SE thinking.
Monsters only pop in the section you're in, so there was nothing to widescan in the North if you were on the South. I'm pretty sure it's like every other zone in Salvage, the monsters pop when you open the door, or in this case, when you zone up.Originally Posted by docvicious
Already disproven on floor 3. Not sure why people are so intent on saying 4F South Madame doesn't drop anything considering the drop rate on QQTH in Arrapago.Originally Posted by docvicious
I think the general thinking of those who believe the south madames don't drop anything is that the south madames drop items to help you along your way to the boss (docvicious doesn't know what he's talking aboutOriginally Posted by divisortheory
).
Also, QQTHs are all 1 mob for 1 type of rare item, same with QQAs, where as the madames are all the same named mobs for several different items. I wouldn't be surprised if the 5F north madame and 6F madame worked like the chariot in arrapago, 3 different drops each @ a low drop rate. Considering that you may only be able to pop one per run, it'd make sense to bunch a few drops into a single mob so you at least get your AP's worth. The north path is also a lot harder (Mamools that drop nothing, Ramparts that send you back to the same floor, triple gears (and more of them) compared to single gears, etc).
I'm not saying we should totally discount the 4F(S) madame just yet, obviously it needs to be killed a good 30-40 times before it can safely be deemed worthless in terms of armor drops, or the place where the armor drops needs to be found instead. But if you're going to try and solve the puzzle, solve the north path puzzle. >_>
A separate little tidbit, the ramparts on 4F, the reason some of them take 0 damage to elemental spells is because their weaknesses are random every time they spawn. I dunno if this was known yet but our BLM was testing out each elemental nuke on each rampart and some were doing 0, some were doing normal-ish damage. I'm not sure if the same was happening to the gears or not, but I could ask.
I don't think that's the "general thinking". Only 1 or 2 people have said that they believe that might be the case. Not to mention that there's an unconfirmed report of 35 Marduk body on the south route.
My general thinking is, why put NMs whose purpose is to "help you kill the boss" when, if you're able ot kill all of them, you're almost guaranteed to not have enough time to kill the boss? NMs that drop chests are special, after learning that that the Manticores drop chests, I'm almost inclined to think they might be "important" as well.
I'll reword it then. >_> I meant the general thinking of the people who believe that it is the case, not the general thinking of everyone lol.Originally Posted by divisortheory

just fyi, if that is the same docvicious...might want to check this LS's roster.
it's the same docvicious, but what does our roster have to do with anything? Just because the LS has a lot of people doesn't mean my salvage group does, I have a hard enough time getting at least 9 people, and we win with that amount and get a lot done. Other than that, I don't know what you're getting at. Other than back in the day, and me belonging to osiris, I don't see what your beef with me is, unless you seriously hold a grudge over stupid smack talk which I didn't really do unless I was brought into it somehow from 2 years ago. And i've yet to see a Fourth floor south madame drop an item, or see a picture of it, So if your saying i don't know what i'm talking about just because i'm in osiris is stupid, and I think you need to grow up a bit. Not everyone is the same as your oh so hated lance, or some of the others.
The Ramparts on 5F N also dropped chests, so I really don't think that's indicates something is special. They were also of varying difficulties. One took far less melee damage than the other two, and resisted magic a great deal more.
It's entirely possible that SE setup the South path to be a boss only path, and all the loot is on the North side. There's probably the Madame on the 5F N that drops multiple 35 armors, and it's possible that the 5F N Chariot drops multiple 35 armors, like Arrapago. It's already known that this zone's NMs don't function like Arrapago. The same named NMs, don't have the same drops. So it's possible that one of the Chariots has armor drops, and the other does not. The North path has the gimmicky Ramparts which is similar to what they setup in Bhaflau to add difficulty to obtaining the lvl35 armor there.
my thoughts exactly but better worded =P
What the minimum setup to take down the boss in this zone?
My group lately has been 8-10 people, and the one time we did try the boss, Discoid raped us. Ever since then, I've been kind of scared to go back without a fairly decent sized group since some of us are convinced that we need more bodies to spread the damage around.
I really want to start farming this boss since one of our THFs needs the 25 piece to finish Skadi hands. Is the best way to deal with Discoid is to let everyone get hit with it including mages?
Yes. 2 Whm, Shell5, stoneskin, its a joke with 10+ and easy to handle with 8+
