I just tried to pop 5F S also, and wasnt up and I kept all times under 14 minutes per floor ( 13:24 was slowest floor ). We did kill 4F S though but doubt that has any impact.
Progression was 12:35 -> 12:12 -> 13:24 -> 12:44 and arrived at 50:55
Did you kill at least 1 mob on every floor? Gonna be really disappointed if this method doesn't workOriginally Posted by Lhexh
BTW here's the exact text if anyone feels like doing their own translation. I added in labels for the floors since I know people will go straight to babelfish lol.

My salvage group just switched from Silver Sea Mega Boss (6 wins, 3 losses) to Zhayolm Remnants.
Floors, and times:
1st -- 00:00
2nd -- 21:15
3rd -- 33:24
4th -- 39:52
5th -- 43:33
6th -- 47:15 (Can confirm there was no Madame up -- 47:15 at 6th floor. Did not kill any mamools or lower floor chariot)
7th -- 80:50
Setup:
MNK/nin
MNK/nin
RDM/
WHM/
WHM/
BRD/whm
BLM
BLM
RDM
PUP
THF
SAM
Had very little trouble getting the 9 magic cells enough subs, weapons and ability cells from the inner 4 on first floor, fought 6 ziz's and got last remaning magics needed then ported.
Once we finished the 6th floor had 19 minutes, so we were feeling pretty good about things.
Any helpful tips/tricks anybody can share to help us avoid a second wipe to this? Only had 2 HP cells, one for each tank.
We tried having everybody stand around the mob to help absorb the Discoid dmg. Shell did lessen it a bit according to my little Einstein-in-training tarutaru RDM. Magic DEF job trait did not apparently.
The plan is to take a PUP/DRG/BST next run with unlocked abilities and have those pets help suck up some of the AOE dmg.
Aside from this, any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
North or south side?
South side.
Alright, seeing a few problems in your times mainly and you said you didnt have much problem getting sj's...but here I dont see you listing more than 3. Anyway this boss is much easier with 7 really well geared people than crappily geared with more.
Setup you should try to aim for:
pt1 vs boss:
mnk/nin
MNK/NIN
RDM/Whm
whm/
Blm/whm
Brd/whm
PT 2:
Rdm/
That'll give you all you need to beat this boss, using the 6 weapons, 5 sj 5-6 ja, and roughly 7 magic. If you go to get more magic, by all means go ahead and go for it, but if it's for a non rdm or whm, try to get them a SJ too. (My suggestion would be to get another blm sj + magic if you have the time to)
So you left first floor in 20 mins... not too bad, 2nd floor: clear out what you need to, you made pretty good time there, you can usually clear a full room out in 5-7 mins, then go to two other rooms and pick at what you need for armor for your monks..
3rd floor... did you clear the 12 mamools to the west? (set up as 4nin 4drg 4bst) getting only 2 hp cells from that seems odd, we got roughly 10 yesterday.
4th floor, clear your rampart, kill more mamools if you're low for hp cells..
5th you can just train through
6th floor: this took you 33 minutes? that's really waaaaaay too long to spend here.
Anyway, as you get your HP cells, try to gear it to your members with weaker hp (tarutarus) rdm dont really need hp as much since they have stoneskin (but its useful for convert anyway) blm is a good choice too and your bard...
Monks stand infront of chariot, mages about 9.5-10 distance away from melee. This gets them hit by discoid and not by anything else...and you have an easy win. (Have your blm / rdm / brd in main pt curaga the mages after a discoid while your whm can continue to cure tanks) rdm in off pt just needs to stoneskin and cure himself (as well as the blm in off pt doing that as well) If your main set of members has enough hp, or you dont want to give it to a rdm or something (theydont really need it that badly) you can give it to a melee, they canjust stay in discoid range and /heal so they dont waste mp of mages.
Enjoy, hope this helps.
Were the THF, SAM, and PUP meleeing the chariot? They shouldn't be.
If they MUST participate...THF should run in and TA whenever it's up. SAM should be using meditate and using WS when he can. PUP should be using emotes and entertaining the rest of the alliance while your MNKs beat down the Chariot.
How would you do this faster? Killing 10 Archaic Gear(s) and an underboss with a ton of HP isn't a five minute procedure.Originally Posted by Slott

Is there some mobs we can avoid killing? We don't touch the Archaic Ramparts.
So the fourth floor Mamools drop HP cells? Had no idea. We'll start clearing them. How is the drop rate on those 4th Floor South mamools? What else do they drop? Never tried killing any of those.
Sounds like more sub job cells for mages is in order, and HP cells. Aside from that I don't think there is much else different we need to do. Probably just that missing SS/blink on our tarus and squishy mages and the missing HP cells will make all the difference. We were doing just fine on the BC until discoid kept wiping the mages.
Really, honestly, how the hell you supposed to clear those 10 Gear(s) and the Chariot very much faster than 33 minutes?
And also, how long typically does the BC take to kill? He didn't seem that tough until our mages kept getting one shotted which of course leads inevitably to the tanks getting raped.
Also, no, only our monk's melee the mega boss, and sam meds up for tp to close darkness skillchain.Originally Posted by Xerlic
Assuming you got head/neck/back/waist/feet/legs/body for your two MNKs, the chariot itself is a 5-7 minute endeavor. 10 gears at 1 minute each plus some wiggle room probably puts you at 20 minutes, with 25 being the absolute max it should take for the whole floor (25 minutes is to factor in a few important deaths like RDM, WHM, or BRD that force you to slow down)
6th floor should take under 20 minutes for sure.
Hmm.. sounds like we need to spend a bit more time on 2nd floor for a bit more armor.. MNK tanks had everything but hands unlocked. Most all other jobs had no armor except body, rings, waist. Ranged was fine also.
Also sounds as though we should devote a bit more time on the 3rd floor, we killed 1/2 the west path mamools, and none of the 4th floor mamools.
That will be the change then. Appreciate the info all. Maybe that'll help us speed up on the 6th too.
Hands are not really necessary. We typically port up to the NE room on second floor. We clear the room, then proceed to NW and clear however many Wyverns it takes to get 2 head/neck for the MNKs. Then we go to SW room and do the same until we get 2 feet. Then we warp. We clear the first 3 small rooms on 3F for HP/MP but ignore the long rectangle room, and kill 0 Mamools on 4F. When you port up to 6F aggro the chariot immediately and die off to the side. Everyone else camps by the door keeping a constant influx of pulls. Triple gears when you have lots of MP, single gears otherwise. If MP is low and there's nothing but triple gears, pull anyway and make people spam potions.Originally Posted by Marinka

Hey Marinka,
If the 6th floor is taking you a long time, I know that the chariot eats up alot of the time, but here's my other question: How fast are you pulling the gears? I know it seems like a small thing, but you should have another gear coming in as one is dying. It might only seem like a few seconds here and there, but it eventually adds up to being quite alot.
The gears are actually pretty weak (at least to me, they seem much weaker than they used to be); if you have two coming in, no sweat. Sleep one, just means one less you have to pull.
If for some reason you really need further help, send me a tell in game.
Zhayolm and Arrapago gears are significantly weaker than Bhaflau and Silver Sea gears, I presume it has something to do with 5 vs 7 floors in the areas.Originally Posted by Ayn
Anyone have any experience in popping both the 3f N madame and the 4f N madame in the same run?
It doesn't seem at all possible since you only have 30 minutes to pop the 4f Madame, but I figured I'd ask. My group has 35 Skadi Mask, 35 Usu Feet, and 35 Morrigan Cuffs, so I'd rather bang all the 15s out in 1 run if at all possible instead of doing 2 seperate runs.
I have killed both NM's more then once, and i don't see it relay being possible. You have to kill 16 Mamool Ja to pop the 3rd floor one, + the rampart. While that won't take forever there is almost no way to do it under 30 min including the 1st and second floors. Someone could try it, but every time i have done those NM's we totaly ignore the other.Originally Posted by Xerlic
Entered 4F S between 30-35 minutes, 4F S Madame was up. Killed it. Went up to 5F S between 40-45 minutes, 5F S Madame not up and there were 3 ramparts in the room. All 3 did not aggro.
Also, we entered on lightsday and reached 5F S on lightsday (confirmed).
16? There are 3 rooms with 4, and the last wing has at least 10. I thought you had to kill the entire side to get the Poroggo Madame to pop?Originally Posted by Garion
