I found that weird, too. But, looking at it again, I think it does make grammatical sense meaning that you can have up to 20 without imbued items, and as less as 0 with.Originally Posted by Toth

The maps are outdated, the person who created them will be back in like 2-3 days to fix them up.Originally Posted by Pacha

It's been mentioned like 10x at least already in this topic -.-
I just needed to confirm that nobody else got drops off the Northern mamools... It seems that the Northern mamools don't drop anything under any circumstances and killing them is purely for the purpose of popping the boss.
This information will definately help our group.
It's been confirmed.Originally Posted by Pacha

Kinda pointless to go south tho, you will still get your hp/mp, and its the only one that really matter. Well, unless you dont plan to kill NM at all I guess. >_> Is there any difference on next floor anyway between south and north? It's been confirmed.

I'm saying the "hard" part in salvage is an annoyance more than a challenge for now. Farming gear/magic back take most of your time and is kinda tedious at the rate cells are dropping in certain area. Sealing your ability was suposed to open the way to new strategy, but imo, it just limit the number of strategy and job you can bring to be succesful.Originally Posted by Celeras
How many runs are we going to do before seeing a complete pieces of gears? Limbus was very rewarding from the start, so was dynamis. If we would get 4-5 pieces of armors every time and manage to kill the mega, I would probably not say this atm, but you are kinda limited to see 2 pieces at most, because you have to concentrate on either the boss, a particular nm, or random farming.
I still enjoy doing Salvage for now, but I can't see myself doing this for another 2 years if drop rate doesnt get better. Especially with entry fee that hurt assault point system badly kinda. 1000points would have been a decent fee. Anyway, I'm not really worried because so far in ToA, SE usually fix their thing quick enough. I will give us a few month to
Just wanted to point out that your probably refering to ffxiatlas' maps. The 4th and 6th floors for Arrapago Remnants are wrong on the site, they should be a flipped 180 mirror of Zayholm like you observed in Bhaflau/Silver Sea's relationship.Originally Posted by Julian
Edit: the maps on ffxiatlas are fixed now
I think Salvage is basically everything endgame players asked for in that it provides separation in endgame and allows only the most talented players get the best gear in an instanced situation where you don't have to fight for claim. However, with the current drop rates, and our lack of knowledge of the zones, there is a very high chance that your party will waste 100 min. and come out with absolutely nothing to show for it except some exp loss.
I'm not too sure what to think about Salvage at this point. I enjoy doing it but it has already become a bit tedious and aggravating such as when you make one mistake, due to misinformation, your entire run goes to waste. Also, it is kind of ironic that the gear we have worked so hard for over the years is stripped from us when we enter. I would have preferred a true challenge that gave us all of our gear but this it's still an interesting concept.
In the end, I'm pretty stoked to have something to shoot for again in the game, hopefully we figure these zones out soon and start seeing some finished gear.
Back on topic: Kaylia, did you see any other stats cells drop from the Southern mamools or was it just HP/MP? Also, do the groups of three mamools in the hallways leading up to the big room (the one with 16 mamools) drop any cells (on our run we invised past them)? Lastly, do you think it's worthwhile to kill a few of the South mamools before going for the Northern one's?
That was the quote I was speaking of. Notice they said when Salvage begins in regards to the limits. The 'They may have as many' leads me to think that something is wrong with the current situation. When adventurers begin a Salvage mission, they may have as many as 20 different limits hampering their abilities, equipment, attributes, and more. The only way to reach the guardian of the area and retrieve its treasure is to remove these limits. However, removing these limits requires the defeat of the other monsters roaming the remnants.

Can you kill mamool from south than head north? I thought there was a door you had to take.

Seriously.
The information is very clear.
The North Poroggo NM drops lv15 ares and moriggan hands.
The South Poroggo NM drops hp + mp cells.
The door doesn't close(this isn't bhaflau) you can go south to farm some HP, then go north to pop NM if you want those 2 pieces.
HP/MP cell droprate is TH-dependent, and drop nearly every mob with TH4.
This Salvage, like any other, has different objectives. If you aim at the 3rd floor northern poroggo nm for its drops, you wont have the time or the resources to clear the mega boss of the zone.
I've posted this before in my LS forums, not sure I posted here since too lazy to look over everything I already posted, and this post gives me a good reason to state this:
Starting in the 3rd floor to the 5th floor, this zone is split into 2 parts: north and south. I think that south is the path you take if you want to go for the megaboss. You get everything you need, but no extra-NMs that drop stuff.
If you go north, you wont get the resources you need to fight the boss, but you'll be able to farm the NMs that pop for their drops.
ty kind sir, we've only done bhaflau and zhayolm, so I had no idea.Originally Posted by Gwynplaine
Time to go look around the Arrapago thread to see if there are any similarities to get some clues.
So are you locked onto a path on the third floor after going east or west? I havn't tried this run yet, I'm just wondering.
That's overcomplicating it.Originally Posted by "Julian
Once you clear a room, including the Mamool Ja, all doors are open, period.
You can farm two, or even all three, other rooms at once.
Considering my LS only kills like 3 mobs on that floor, I was only assuming.Originally Posted by jibini

Just throwing this out there as a shot in the dark in regards to what SE said about the Pathos effects. Perhaps wearing the various gear that drops from Salvage upon entrance prevents specific ailments from taking effect. Theres 15 different pieces of Upgradeable armor vs the 20 different ailments, or an even 20/20 split if you factor in the fully upgraded pieces.Though there is one thing that puzzles me. SE said in their note that players entering COULD be inflicted by up to 20 locks. Yet, everyone has 20 every time. Glitch or something that will be fixed in a later update?
Taking it one step further you could say a fully upgraded piece of Salvage gear could very well prevent the specific Pathos itself and not the individual Ailment. Since there are a total number of 5 pieces of Upgraded Salvage gear per set and 5 different types of Pathos you can be afflicted with (Encumberment, Obliviscence, Impairment, Omerta and Dibilation) it seems to fit in a way. Not saying this is it, just throwing some ideas to wind to help solve this mystery.
thats possible, however at the start you can't equip anything at all. Its not that its grayed out, you can't even get to the equipment select screen for that slot. I don't know how you could get around that to equip salvage sets in any given slot
You wear it when you enter? Hence the "lock" is never applied. However, this idea is far too good to be real, making farming or even a boss rush of the start pretty easy after a while.Originally Posted by Evelyn
We did Zhayolm Remnants yesterday - very nice - no armor drops though but it seems easier than Bhaflau (we had only 8 ppl)
We got to the third floor with all weapons/abilities/magic/subjobs unlocked.
Just one more important info:
Poroggo Madame - North path's boss - pops when all N Mamools are dead and Archaic Rampart is killed. When you kill the Rampart - Poroggo Madame pops.
Also - there are 20 Mamools in the big room, not 16. Sadly we couldn't kill the NM as we ran out of time. ;(
Oh god my brain, the IQ is dropping!
Has anyone gotten any drops here other than those from the north Poroggo Madame, and Jakko (the Slot NM)?
The cell-duping NM from the Slot is a Poroggo Madame, right?
Where is the Socket to pop Jakko?
