Tried this again just now and learned something very interesting. The gents on 4F now drop so much gear it isn't even funny. We killed 3 just for shits and giggles and every one dropped SIX pieces of gear each.

Speaking of 4th floor north froggy, we need to kill it for lvl 15 monk shoes. Is it possible to accomplish anything in the run after killing madamme? I assume you have to rush through the first 3 floors so fast that you'd be pretty helpless against the boss, and well...good luck finding a madame up in 5th/6th north eh? :X

Considering my above post, you could probably get plenty of equip on 4th floor. And HP/MP we know you can get on 4th floor. So i don't think you'd be useless.


Edit: one more thing. We killed both 6F ramparts again, and once again we could not get the west rampart to spawn a manticore at all, no matter how long we held it. Anyone else gotten a manticore from west? Also, the 6F ramparts seem to be ultra weak to meleeing. Mercy Stroke did over 2000 easily. Which is really different than other ramparts.

We've gotten manticores from both sides. One spawned 2, the other spawned 1.

Now that's reassuring. It really just leaves magic, abilities and weapons as being needed before floor 4... haven't figured out from where yet - but I haven't exactly been focusing on Zhayolm yet either... Are the fourth floor mobs fairly brutal, or are they cakewalk (like floor one mobs elsewhere)?

Those cells are a joke in zhayolm. You can get everyone a magic/sj/ja in 15min on first floor.

With 6 ppl, farm the "inner" room of the 4 branches. Excluding the initial chest, you will get 2 of each 100% of the time, and many of them will drop a 2nd cell. I think you can a total of 4 ja/magic/weapon/sj clearing the 4 rooms. If you need additional magic/sj, you can probably clear the 2nd buggard room/cockatrice room .

If you have over 8 people, just split in 2 groups and have 4 farm magic cells, while the 2nd farm subjob. Gearring the whole group shouldnt take much more than 10-20minutes depending how many people you have

Looked into it a little more... Floor one does look especially manageable, while floor 2 and 3 look entirely skippable since we're going for the Floor 4 North Madam Poroggo...

Is it set in stone that this is popped by reaching the floor in under 30 minutes?

Unfortunately, it appears the Poroggo Gents on Floor 4 North do not drop anything, if you're going to trust FFXIclopedia.

It says the Mamool Ja may drop 2 stat cells, which may include HP and MP...

Sounds like being able to take the Madam Poroggo on 4N boils down to luck.

Even the Mamool Ja may prove difficult... taking Firespit or one of their Vorpal-esque TP moves doesn't sound like it'd bode well when tanks have 500-700 hp, and mages have 150-250 mp...

The FFXIclopedia part about Poroggo Gents was written before the Version Update. The south ones had awful, horrendous, terrible drop rates before the version update as well. It definitely needs to be re-tested on 4F North.

We're doing Arrapago boss run tonight, and going for Dekka in Silver Sea most likely Tuesday - if our THF is on... subsequent runs were planned to be Arrapago farming, but I'll bump it back to test this on Wednesday (or Tuesday if our THF can't make it) - if it still needs testing and we stay on schedule.

Heres some stats to screw you up

Was about 20 mins in when we ported up off the first floor.
On the 2nd floor we killed the entire NE room, and 4 mobs from the other rooms.
Donno when we ported up to 3rd.
on 3rd floor we killed 12 mamool.
Ported up to the fourth floor south at 47 mins, the madame was not up, as expected.
We killed the correct rampart, one marid, 2 frogs (which btw only dropped 3 earrings from one, 0 cells from the other) and no mamools.

Ported up to the 5th floor south at 59 mins, the madame was up.
Didnt kill it cause we wanted to do the boss.

Got to 5FN in 32 minutes today (10:30, 24:30, 29:20, 32:00 was our time hitting each portal) and no madame. Ended up going to boss with 6, got a Tsuki Togi and Phob Cuisses as a consolation prize, not bad.

Unfortunately, it appears the Poroggo Gents on Floor 4 North do not drop anything, if you're going to trust FFXIclopedia.

I can personally confirm that they do drop equipment cells, but out of the 12 we killed to clear the way for the Madame, only 2 Frogs dropped equip; Legs, Body and Ranged is what we got - this doesn't mean that that is all they drop. Even with Thf (That, granted, was dead all the time from Sac Pulling) our drops for Gears were bad, but we weren't expecting them to drop anything.

I figured we'd kill the 16 mobs on floor one that are guarenteed to drop 1 cell each (inner most rooms) - that'd along with the initial chest should give us plenty of magic/weapons/abilities and subjobs.

Armor can pretty much go lol itself, so we'd skip killing anything on Floor 2.

Floor 3 North is worthless for cells.

...and it all boils down to fighting Mamool Ja with halved HP/MP - how bad are their Firespit / multi-hit TP moves?

Seems like you'd have to pray for at least two HP cells from the armory crate at the start... I've been told 4N Poroggo Madame has some nasty -ga IIIs.

I didnt know what to do in this zone but:

4th south was up
5th floor had 3 ramparts in the QQA room but no madame was up

Dunno if that means anything first time doing this zone in ages and I have NO clue what was found out cause this thread is confusing the living fuck out of me despite reading it many times.

Could you take a short detour to south path to get a few cells, than clear north? Or farm the 3(?) mamool on floor 4 and hope for HP cells? I never take north path, just wondering

You killed the correct rampart on your first try, and was that marid produced from the correct rampart?

Yah we killed the correct rampart on the first try (was third rampart, we entered on lightning day at 23:something, so day had changed at least once), the marid was popped from that rampart. Killed no other ramparts.

I thought of something that would be wierd if it worked. I was recently told the Kirin / pot teleporter sends you to either room based on what game time it is, even minute = one room, odd minute room = the other. Is this true? If so maybe the 5th floor madames work like this? but since we dont have 50% sightings of 5th floor madames itd have to be something rarer, like you have to teleport up within the first 10 minutes of a game hour. This kinda makes sense to me since we have different port up times reporting sitings, and same time port ups reporting sitings sometimes but not the other. However this is just totally made up, i have no supporting evidence.

Considering the amount of time I zoned with someone and ended up in another room, I doubt minute matter for kirin teleport.

It could be an interesting idea for the madame tho

If you are going for the 4th Floor Madame North, anything more than 8 people is going to be hard to farm enough cells for in sufficient time.

Before I do Zhayolm, I always look at who I'm taking with me. Figure out who needs what cells, and plan the first floor before we enter. Usually it's 5 Weapons, 6 Magic, 6 Subjob and 5 JAs, which is nice, because then all you have to do Pop the chest for 1 of each cell I've just listed, but an extra Weapon and then whatever other cell you get (Magic in this zone, I think), then farm the four middle small rooms. If you are going for the Madame, I cannot stress how AWESOME a Summoner is in this run, if you are not going for the boss. Give a Smn Magic and JAs, and Garuda's Predator claws will rip EVERYTHING apart... Having taken Smn in myself once as a laugh and a complete joke because I was fed up of going Blm, Predator claws out damaged all the melee, as Puks are weak to piercing anyway, and everything on the floors before you reach the gears have very low HP anyway. Regularly, I was taken down mobs from 80% health to 0% in 3 seconds.

We farmed the first floor with what we needed (Farmed an extra wing of magic and job abilities) > Ported up by the 15 minute mark > Skipped the second floor > Had the group go West and kill the Mamools; We managed to clear the first 3 rooms, everyone got HP but 1 Whm, and we only needed 4 MP cells and we ended up getting something retarded like 6/7 > I ran to the North side porter and ported up at 28:50, and the Madame was up on the North side.

If you know what you need before you enter, this zone is a piece of piss to get cells for. If you are tailoring yourselves around only going for a certain madame, then you rush the first 3 floors with what you need, get on the 4th by the 30 minute mark, then if need be you can farm the Mamool for a few extra HP and MP cells, before going ahead and trying the Madame, The beauty of bringing a Smn to this place is that you can take the time with Carby pulls once you know the Madame is up, and peel her away successfully, or the gents without a problem. If you are going for the 3rd floor North-Side Madame, you can farm HP and MP on the west path, then when you are ready, kill everything to the East to pop it. Water Bomb is a BITCH without HP unlocked :/

This is how we farm these Madames anyway, Zhayolm for us is an option if people can't be that bothered with staying the whole 100 minutes, as we are usually done and get what we need by 60, if that.
