20:00 and 20:30? I don't get it. Neither 4th floor nor 5th floor has anything to do with 20 minutes.

Maybe it has something to do with roughly spending the same amount of time on each floor.

    /shotinthedark

This would kinda correlate with the JPs debrief, and other people's runs, whether they have spent the same amount of time, roughly, on each floor. Meaning it could be up after 40 minutes (10 per floor), or 80 (20 per floor). That way, the game doesn't leave you with a Boss-Or-NM Route.

That's a neat theory. The next few that I plan to try are a) Killing the correct rampart using no elemental magic (both times my friends' group popped it no elemental magic was used on the rampart because BLM was waiting at the porter), and every other time we haven't popped it elemental magic was used. and b) killing all 4 ramparts and all 4 marids.

My previous run was up at 14-14:30 on each floor. So...doubt it? :X

Err, I can't tell if you're saying you popped it or you didn't pop it.

we didnt. Remember your original 15 min per floor theory? we adhered to that, 14:30 on each floor and it never popped.

Please don't be a random pop... (I originally typo'd "be" as "bee"; bee probably would've fit in context.)

Maybe you have to spend a certain amount of time on floors? But hopefully 1 of Divisor's rampart ideas work.

ahh ok. Also just an fyi, we killed both ramparts on 6F quick enough that neither popped a manticore, and no Madame.

Even if neither of those work, there's still other possibilities. For example, it could be a random mamool on 3F. Or a random Wyvern on 2F. Or a random mob from 1-4. Testing individual floors is the easiest because you can just spend 40 minutes wiping out an entire floor then go up to 5F, and if it ever pops try to reproduce it. If it turns out to be a random mob anywhere on 1-4 that will really suck ass though.

Sorry if I missed this being answered already but it's somewhat confusing at times to distinguish in this thread between facts and speculation. Divisortheory, in the group of people from your LS that popped the 5S madame, with all the censored screenshots a few pages back, how many ramparts/marids did they fight on 4th floor? And no frogs right?

Not sure if this has been corrected or not. On Wiki it says that the first floor Puks drop Incus only - and so on for each quarter of the floor. This is incorrect. In fact, everything about drops on the floor was incorrect.

Mobs that should have been 100% drop were about 50-70% drop - but they were dropping two cells instead of one. Also, they were dropping the incorrect cells. A Puk dropped SJ and Magic once, and Magic and Abilities another time...

Poroggo Madame was up on Floor 4S, but I didn't note the exact time... I'd say between 35-45 minutes in.

    Your memory isn't very good.

On the first floor there are 4 inner rooms, and in each of them, 2 monsters will drop cells, 2 won't:

One will drop Weapon and Subjob, the other will drop Magic and Abilities (I'm fairly certain this is the combination). They will be the first 2 on widescan if you have someone who can do that.

The outer rooms will each have 2 mobs that drop and 2 that don't, also. The ones that do will be the first 2 on the widescan list again for those 4 mobs, and they will drop 1 of each cell for that wing (Puks = Weapon, Ziz = Magic, Raptor = Abilities, Bugards = Subjob). If you clear an entire wing, a frog pops that drops more of the cell of the wing you cleared (or something, I've never killed the frog).

On the second floor, in each room there are 8 mobs on the widescan list. The first, fourth, sixth, and seventh will drop equipment, and the rest won't.

I was going by this map - which I suppose is easy to misinterpret, especially the way it designates Incus to Puks, etc...

    Here we go again

That map was created when Salvage first came out, and the person who created the map no longer does Salvage/doesn't play too often. I don't remember ever giving permission for our map to ever be put on wiki, since it was for ls use only and we just posted it here to share, but we really don't care now that it's up, not our fault it was put up without our knowledge and no one has bothered to make a new map.

You know, I wonder something. Why does the wiki use such a poor design for certain things? For example, the NMs in Salvage should have a full page with detailed explanations on them, not some "monster page" that conforms to Vana'diel areas. It seems really silly to me. Can we change that?

Well can anyone give a close to accurate assessment of which drops which? Or create a new thread for Zhayolm since this one is at almost 40+ with updated info?

This was gonna be my next run for my group and I was under the impression the first and 2nd floor (judging by said incorrect maps >_>) mobs had fixed drop rates on the cells. Don't feel like planning these cell drops out beforehand to get jewed by following bad info, specially after coming off a jewed cell drop rate in arrapago...

eff skeles lamia and qutrub to hell and back....

They do have fixed drops. Every room on first floor has 2 mobs that don't drop anything, and 2 mobs that drop 2 cells each. In each of the 4 inner rooms, you will get 1 incus, 1 duplicatus, 1 opacus, and 1 praecipitatio from killing both cell dropping mobs. In all of the outer rooms, the cels you get are determined by what part of the map you are in. SE = incus only. NE = praecipitatio only. NW = opacus only. SW = duplicatus only.

Feel free to add additional info saying whatever you want to each enemy's page. You can have full detailed explanations. just put it at the bottom below the standard mob template table.

The standard mob template is annoying and useless, especially for mobs with Vana'diel counterparts where it's just crammed in there. For example, the Bhoot and Psycheflayer NMs.

Propose on one of the talk pages, or on the salvage category talk page that they be changed then. Discussing wiki changes on BG = fail
