Hm, could this 60-mob theory also include aggroing? I really doubt we killed 60 mobs when I last did my Zhayolm run, and I had sac-pulled the 4thN Madame and I saced to the teleroom on the 5th floor, and the Chariot was up. (Maybe aggroing just includes the 5th floor gears?)
Just something to look into, gonna go take a quick look at the dats and get an estimate on how many mobs we killed...
18+7+18+2=45, give or take a few on the 1st and 3rd floors, but I know I'm not more than 15 off...
Did they continuously scan the chariot after every mob? It might have popped upon contact with the gears?
Edit: And the person who mentioned the one in Marduk body.. have yet to see anyone with it on Carbuncle.
I've popped the 5th floor chariot with no contact with gears, cross off that theory.

I have also popped it with no contact of gears. 5th floor gears, both north and south, are easy to get past aggro free. Every time I've gone to 6th floor, the chariot have always been up, without any contact of gears what-so-ever, and we never killed 60+ mobs. I'm the person that always runs to the teleporter, and I'm sure I'd have been rather surprised if the chariot suddenly wasn't there since it always have been.Originally Posted by mackerel

I'm actually thinking maybe 1 drop, but north & south drop different pieces, with the 6th NM being either:Originally Posted by Narse

B. lol6F
I guess the main problem with 4F north repeat is that there is no "clone" for her, but I think in Nyzul there's only 1 Behe/Adaman/Faf/Hydra/Cerb/Khim in the .dats, but they drop different things depending on the floor.
I've been discussing ideas about a 6F Poroggo Madame with my Salvage group, but I think we may not be doing Zhayolm again for a good while so I want to share them here for anyone else to try.
The observations I've made on the 6th floor are too peculiar to not give them second thought:
1. When you enter there are three mobs. The Archaic Chariot, and the two Ramparts.
2. Upon engaging the Chariot, 12 new mobs pop: 10 Archaic Gears (multi), and 2 Archaic Gear (single).
3. The 10 multi-gears run on tracks. It is easy to pull them one by one but they move very close to one another at the center of the room.
4. All of the machinery on the floor will link with each other.
OK, so far, pretty obvious. Anyone who's done 6F to get to the boss knows this by now. But, let's dig deeper:
5. The 2 single-gears do NOT run on tracks. They appear to roam around quite a bit. They pop in the immediate vicinity of the Archaic Chariot, and then can move north or south as they please, in the same "bounds" as the multi-gears. They still favor the middle of the room, which means the multi-gears are obstacles.
6. Upon popping the Chariot, the multi-gears immediately link with the Chariot, but the single-gears do not. I have noticed this when deathpulling the Chariot to pop the room on more than one occasion.
7. None of the gears in the room are sleepable. They resist both Lullaby and Sleep. This means holding any mobs which were not purposefully pulled is difficult.
I don't know about you, but I think the fact that there are only two single-gears, both of which are heavily guarded by multi-gears and a chariot, and which have totally different behavior from most of the other machinery on the floor, is at least a little fishy. It reminds me very much of Bhaflau 3F's rampart, where there are two multi-gears but many single-gears. I believe that killing the two single-gears first (which will almost certainly require a deathpull or some extremely careful pulling to do successfully) could be a "trigger" for some other event on the floor. Obviously, Zhayolm is already no stranger to triggers.
There are two questions I cannot yet answer:
A) What exactly triggers the event - Do the two single-gears need to die simultaneously like the two multi-gears on Bhaflau Remnants 3F? Or is it enough to just kill each of them before anything else in the room? Does the Chariot need to die before the multi-gears too? Are the Ramparts a piece of the puzzle also?
B) What to do after the trigger - Will Poroggo Madame pop after the trigger? Will it enable the ramparts to pop the Madame?
We made one attempt at this, but due to an imperfect pull we had to kill one of the multi-gears after the single-gears (nothing happened when the two single-gears died at different times, but maybe the multi-gear disrupted the trigger or they need to die together), and decided to abort the attempt and continue toward the boss. We're also probably not doing Zhayolm again soon in the interest of Arrapago and Silver Sea drops. Can anyone out there who is toying around with pops try these ideas?
Is it any coincidence that Arrapago's 6th floor has 4 single gears and 2 mysterious NMs, as opposed to 2 single gears and 1 mysterious NM? (There's also 4 triple gears.)
Talked to another guy who went on the run, which just left me more confused than before. At this point, since the info is all over the place and I wasn't on the run myself, I'll prolly try to get a run together to test it, and if I don't see these quirks I'll just ignore it as someone not paying attention or something (or if someone else wants to beat me to testing)...
I disagree with some of the theory quoted there personally, but again, I wasn't there, so iunno.. At this point I'm just interested in going to 5th floor N having killed between 56-59 mobs and seeing what's up on the widescan.ok so total number of mobs killed from the time you enter (rampart doesn't count, pets does)
need to literally kill everything even the frogs around 4th floor madamme to hit 55 on 5th floor
5th floor is just 3x gears & link like crazy so yeah -.-
zoning on floor was 1 rampart in a room toward middle (blocking the path acting like a door) but still can walk though it
we killed gears till hitting 60
then 3 more ramparts poped but terra telling us where they were was fucked up so i dunno exactly where they pop he said H-8 that's like warp room in middle
so i sac'd pulled every gears & running toward warp room i agro'd the 1st rampart and when i arrived in the big ass room the chariot was poped hence my guess agroing the 1st rampart pop it
i rr'd & terra scanned the 3 ramparts were depoped & chariot was new since he last scanned
we decided to kill 5 more gears toward 65 and at 65 the 3 ramparts repoped
chariot was still there, we had 5 min left & since no NM we decided to try the chariot which we ran out of time, LOTS of HP 2x hundred fist & we got it down to like 45%
easier to farm gears in the big room passed 1st rampart so for next try i wanna sac right at start & get ppl to farm the big room then go see wassup with the 3 rampart
could always kill the 1st rampart while i'm sac'ing everything but he might affect the 3 others since imo it's what made them depop/pop chariot
Something just occurred to me. That jp report from a few pages ago that said they popped the 5F N Madame 3 times in a row and it popped while they were in the middle of killing gears by the rampart room. This actually sort of supports that. However, they said the 3 ramparts were already up when they arrived. This group is saying the 3 ramparts popped at 65 mobs though. I dobut all the people who have been going north all this time have been killing more than 65 mobs every single time. Sorry to add more confusion :D
Gah, you're killin' me! I don't even know how to think on this thing anymore..Originally Posted by divisortheory

I have to spam zhayolm in the near future for an usu hat piece off boss to finish it for someone soon (15 morrigan gloves too) if there's anything you want me to try out, just let me know...
also apparently there's some jp pld thats 5/5 ares on my server (yes, has feet too) requested a screenshot and should have it later, will post it when i get it.
edit: and he wont say shit on how to pop the poroggo -.-
Will he say which poroggo he got it from? Of course it could also be the chariot.Originally Posted by Slott

wont say shit, heard this all through a friend, which i trust with salvage (he's been doing it alot longer tham me)...wondering if anyone went with that pld and knows how to spawn it though...if I get more info later i'll post it, for now it's just hearsay
It broke when the forums changed. I'm not sure why, but I don't feel like fixing it lol.Originally Posted by Kaylia
We just killed both single gears first, nothing pop. Also we warped to 5F S after killing 70 mobs, and no Madame. We wanted to test # of Mamool Killed divisible by 5, but messed up on 4th floor and blew it.Originally Posted by Mofro
