It seems like thf is what makes or breaks the run. Thf gives us 1 hp/mp per kill, and our previous run yielded 2 hp total after 3 rooms. Now, to make those thfs show up...

give them all the skadi they want.
Just to clarify this, I forgot to write down the exact time of porting to the 5th floor. Suiram's assumption is correct that we ported up to the 5th in the 5-10min range.Originally Posted by Suiram

More like, after getting charmgaed 3 consecutive times after the 5 min warning, we timed out with it half dead...
was not our proudest moment lol
Sad part is, even our thfs don't want skardi T.TOriginally Posted by Amele
What if it just pops during a certain time through out the course of the Vana'diel day, a la Xolo(t)l.
have they even looked at some of the pieces?Originally Posted by alphacat
Suiram/Niv do you recall if the 3rd floor north madame, in your run, took double-damage or normal damage?
Having only fought that particular madame once before, I'm not entirely clear on what is considered "normal" but it took reduced magic damage (5xx tier 4 iirc but it could have been a resist too), which I think is the standard for frogs. I can't speak to melee damage since I filter others' attacks.
Tbh, I don't remember.Originally Posted by aurik
I don't recall any particularly outstanding damage.
Our THF for the run, when asked, looked over the screenshot he had taken of the fight and replied, "dagger swings were 50 with sushi, that constitutes 'extra' damage but not sure if it was double," for whatever that's worth.
In run 11, I was punching ours for 50~ per hand. On run 10, I was hitting for 200. This is with the same approximate party setup, so something is definitely up with that.
Same songs, same food, same gear unlocks?Originally Posted by aurik
Yup.
I think I'll start making note of Vana'diel time from now on, maybe 4th floor is earth time based and 5th floor is vana time based or something.
I was on the run last night with Suiram and Niv and it was also the first time I've ever fought that particular madame, as well as the second time I ever went to salvage as WAR.... so my frame of reference is pretty much non-existant! I also filter out other people's damage but got a couple of screenshots of me fighting the 3F Madame. Hope this helps.

We got to Battleclad with 10 minutes left but didn't have any gear because we went north this time. What was weird is that in that 10 minutes we got it down below 50%, and it never used Discoid a single time. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm inclined to think we locked it or something, but I really have no idea and maybe we just got lucky. The only thing we did different than usual is that on 4th floor North we intentionally killed the wrong rampart, got warped to the second version of 4F (verified with DAT edit), then killed the correct rampart from there.
You just got lucky. This happened to my group before, didn't see a Discoid until sub-50%. We had gone south, though.Originally Posted by divisortheory
Yes! I was wondering about that. The first time I went to the boss, I had about 10min left as well, and in that 10min, we got it down to 40%, and not once did it use Discoid. The second time we went, Discoid went off rather frequently. This leads me to believe there's some way to weaken this boss as well. The route we went to was identical in both runs, and we did exactly the same things. The only difference I can remember is that we killed 6F chariot before gears, while on the second run we cleared gears before chariot.
