Aurik, how many people does SML usually take along in their runs? Do you find that it is easier with a smaller group or do you try for a full alliance?
We typically have 16-18 due to large interest from our shell. It probably wouldn't be significantly harder with less people, as long as you had the key roles filled.

I think rangers ought to really make this fight easy. Unfortunately we don't have many rangers in SML

30k is ridiculously small if you have an hour. Are you SURE there isn't regen? You can do > 45k/hr with the elemental dots + Bio II + Dissevernment poison alone.

My small salvage group has some questions about the higher floors of Bhaflau, hopefully somebody has answers here.

On floor 4, the room with archaic chariot and gears, how do they aggro/link? We know gears aggro magic, they are also true sound?

Bhaflau cards drop from ramparts, gear, gears, and chariot?

For Kaeko especially, does Long-Bowed Chariot kill everyone in the zone if a disbanded person attacks, or just that person? Or is disbanding even necessary?

    1) gears aggro proximity and probably JA. probably true-sound as well, never tested. There's no reason to be killing them unless you're farming cards, and you'll probably want to do that on floor 3. On floor 4, the 1gears warp when they detect you unless specifically pulled, and the archaic chariot/3gear room can be sac-pulled or just plain powder booted.

    2) cards drop from the mecha mobs in each zone.

    3) No party, ally or zone-wide hate from LBC. He seems to aggro sight and a very narrow cone at that.

yes, that too but most people here are just copying strats, they'll wait for someone else to spend money/xp/time discovering things like that.

next time I go to bhaflau I'm hoping to take 12~ people and totally clear the 3rd and 4th floors.

Not 100%reading this thing about the LBC, but my ls has done this 3-4 times now startingto do it more now though, but we did it last night just trying to learn stuff, we are 4/4 on bomber, hes always up on the west side for us so far in this zone, we only killed him 2x though, got the DR to spawn and went in, it summoned chigoes the entire time the first time, til it died, the second(last night) it spawned gate widow, we killed widow, nothing dropped, nothing. ive read it was 90-100% most times 100% from what people have posted around, but we got nothing, so i guess we are the lucky ones to tell everyone its not 100% drop , we only got to the 3rd floor, well anyway, thats what ive seen in salvage

There is no zone aggro on LBC or LAC (SS boss). This is actually what we exploited to kill LAC... we had 2 guys sac it with bio and poison to hold the HP down while 3 RNGs just suicided with Sidewider and Barrage every 5 minutes (using sleep pots). Worked really well. I think given enough time and DD you can pretty much beat any zone boss like this.

For the time we got it to 12%, actually if we had taken 2 blms instead of blm and rng we'd have easily won. The RNG actually stopped shooting around 80% because the TP spam was too great. I was the BLM on the run and I did roughly 70% of the damage. Even though ranger gets to do ranged attacks and they are hard hitting, the TP gain by the boss is your TP gain +3 so the boss is getting about 20 TP a shot. Because TP gain is based on delay for melee/ranged attacks, this still holds RNG to the imbalanced TP system in this game. In my opinion there are 2 basic options to killing a boss efficiently - long, drawn out fight with BLM DD, or short, damage rush fight with melees. Both work fine, but don't try to draw out a fight with a bunch of melees.

Has anyone killed every gear on the third floor? No idea but the DR on the second spawns after all Empathetic Flans are dead.

I'd like to do another farming run tonight. Try for some Gate Widows / Skirmish Pephredos if we're lucky but mainly get a Bhaflau card and start picking up some LV 35 pieces in another zone, hence the gear question.

Any rough estimate on card drop rate as well?

Do the reactionary ramparts / archaic ramparts melee attack at all? Or do they merely summon mobs until they die?

Reactionary Ramparts just sit in place and summon mobs until they die.

I haven't tried getting close enough to see if they will melee if whoever has hate is close enough to them (like the statue behind the Palace in Dynamis-Jeuno), but there is no need to kite them or anything like that.

The standard Archic Ramparts do melee and have a number of obnoxious (but not too terribly deadly) TP moves.

Has anyone killed every gear on the third floor? No idea but the DR on the second spawns after all Empathetic Flans are dead.
That's about the only thing we haven't done on the third floor. We have done the following:

    - Kill all the trolls and scorpions in the north rooms.
    - Kill all the Black Puddings in the south rooms.
    - Kill both triple Archaic Gears (1 in the east room, 1 in the west room)
    - Clear the west gear room completely
(all of these are on different runs though except for the last two)

The only things left that I can think of are a) clearing both rooms of all of their gears, b) clearing both the north or south room (depending on your path) AND all of the gears, or c) that the Dormant Rampart will spawn in either the north or the south room once it is cleared ... you just have to hope that you chose the right path for that run. Personally, I think that the answer is A, but I haven't ruled the others out either.

That's our plan. To the earlier person.. Salvage is definitely more manageable with a group of 8-12.

Mad Bomber not up again. Flans didn't trigger DR again. At least we walked away with a Bhaflau Card. Also, Hoshi Tekko and Nemain's Sabots dropped off an Archaic Gear and Archaic Gears respectively on the third floor.

Are the Area Card slots always up? Getting the card has some of us wanting to do Arrapago, and we're a very prepared group, but Ive heard Arrapago is a nightmare.

We have 3 cards, the word nightmare doesn't even begin to describe this zone.

on the Mad Bomber pop matter:
I'm trying to figure out if it's pop location is somehow triggered by day/hour factors; otherwise it's plain 50% luck and that'd be it.

we went in Wind Day @ 23:00 (vana time), went West and no pop.
then we tried Wind Day @ 9:00, went West and no pop.

So it seems it's not related to vanadiel hour; still it might be determined by vanadiel day:
so, please, could you take notice of the day you are entering, and if MB pops or not? that'd really be helpful, thx.

Went in on Iceday earlier this week and it was in the F10/G10 room. It was there the previous time we went but I didn't remember to check what day it was.

    <brokenrecord>
On the Third Floor, we have already successfully cleared all the gears from the East + West Room, along with all the Trolls/Scorpions in the North and NE rooms. Literally the only thing left on the entire 3rd floor was the "Slot" (which we had no card for). We did not find any Ramparts.
    </brokenrecord>

This means that the Rampart on the 3rd floor is either completely random, only pops on a specific path (not NE), or it requires you to also kill the Slot NM along with all the mobs/gears before it will pop.

On another note, Done Bhaflau at least 6 times now and have yet to see Mad Bomber or the Rampart from killing all 4 Flans. We always go West on First floor, 2nd Floor we always clear the Flans Clockwise (S > W > N > E).

IIRC the last run we did started on Thundersday, if anyone is tracking that.

We always go East on the first floor, 1/4 on Mad Bomber; unfortunately I didn't note the day on the one time. On the second floor we've gone West twice and East twice. We finally got the socket on the west side last night for Flux Flan (1/4) and we've killed the flans both clockwise and counterclockwise; 0/4 on DR.

There has been rumors on JP sites that you need to kill the flans with the corresponding thing they are weak to, to get the DR. 1) I don't know how to even implement this since it seems the resistances change mid-fight 2) I don't think it's true.

Everyone should just start taking down time / moon / day data for their runs; SE can be retarded, perhaps you need a taru RDM wearing full Wise gear to spawn the 2nd floor DR.

For the area card slots: Does it disappear after trading one card, or could you farm say three Bhaflau cards and use them consecutively? I think someone said they despawn.
