I do believe people that dug up Remedies in Ballista found out that they remove Bind.
If Remedy removes both Blind and Bind, what does Panacaea do?Originally Posted by Jeryhn
I could have sworn I used a Remedy Ointment like 3 or 4 days ago when I fought LBC and it removed Bind. Now I'm curious lol. Anyone doing this fight soon bring some along and let me know
Our LS Ballista whores are saying they do remove bind.
I dont think this should be a problem...or even arise.Originally Posted by divisortheory
If LBC is doing HM then instantly doing Inertia, you're doing something wrong to feed it that much TP.
Just did LBC ten minutes ago.
Remedy Ointment does not remove bind. Tried 3 ointments myself before finally chugging a Vicar's.
It does remove Discharge's paralyze, though, and I was never stopped in using an ointment to correct the effect. Sheer luck.
Got LBC to 37%, tried to pick up the pace b/c we were running out of time, hate went a bit haywire, few HM's got off, no bueno.
Main LBC force was:
NIN/DRK
PLD/NIN
WHM/SMN
RDM/WHM
BRD (March)
BRD (Mambo)
RNG
RNG
BRD
BLM
BLM
MNK
MNK
We engaged with 27 mins left using the stand on its side tactic, our issue was the DD. Everything was going great until like 65%, it became apparent to me that at our rate of DD it would not die before time expired. We stepped up the pace, hate slipped a bit, Inertia >> HM once, recover, another HM at about 45%, some AOEs and it was unrecoverable, died with a few minutes left.
My main issue is DD. How are those who have won this doing enough damage to kill LBC from 100-0 in under 25 minutes without pulling hate. The PLD/NIN and NIN/DRK are very good with the NIN having no issues with Tiamat and other such fights.
Also, there are two strategies I know of. The 2x NIN spaced at max casting range, and then the sides. For anyone who has tried both, which do you think is better?
I hope there is a way to weaken the boss discovered in the future b/c tbh, even once we do win and a better strat is set, this will always be a challenging fight. Just frustrated right now.
Sounds like you wasted far too much time trying to get people unlocked. 25 mins is usually not enough time (unless you're doing some kind of crazy zerg on LBC that actually works) to kill LBC. With about 12~16 people, we usually stop farming cells and start the fight with 45~50 mins left on the clock.
I had almost no issues solo tanking it from 100->0 as NIN/WAR, and this was before we figured out the whole standing on the side of it to avoid Homing Missile fun. I just meleed it the entire time and used provoke and enfeebling ninjutsus, saved warcry for when HM got off. Took us around 30 mins to kill it with 11 people, and I only ever lost hate after HMs. It takes decent damage to meleeing and once you get into a rhythm, you kind of just know when its going to use a TP move so you might just let yourself get hit a time or two so you can cast Ni right after the TP move.
I noticed you had a bard doing mambos though, did that help much? We only had one bard and I was getting double marches, so I was mostly just tanking in haste gear to help my recasts, and not evading much.
Oh and one small thing you could have done is rotate your monks into that 2nd party and get MND etudes from the bard for chi blast. Yeah it's minor but every bit helps.

I dunno what the fuck were getting cockblocked at on the farming, but our past 2 runs we've gotten to the boss with 10 minutes to spare. I know we wasted a lot of time on the 3rd floor trying to get some MP cells :\
mages seriously got jacked on our last run. 0/3 blm's had body or hands, nor had MP unlocked.
Also, does it take anyone else an eternity to farm the first floor ? Takes us like 30 minues, but we dont skip anything. Everything on that floor seems rather crucial.
If, by the end of the run, you look back and think to yourself "We ended up tossing a lot of cells", then you wasted time. You don't need to get everything on the first floor. Especially equipment, trolls on later floors drop the shit out of equipment, 6 or 7 cells at a time. I would probably kill:Originally Posted by NynJa

on the first floor, then straight to the third floor. On the third floor, kill trolls until you have 1 hour left, then regardless of what cells you have/need, go to the boss. At no point you should ever fight an Archaic Gear(s), Chariot, Mad Bomber, a slot NM, a socket NM, or any other NM. Those are for farming runs.
If you do need to kill socket NM though, he's pretty easy - not much different from a regular flan.
You guys really need 50 minutes for LBC? On our second serious attempt, we got LBC down to 5% with a timeout with exactly 25 minutes left on the clock. We had 18 though. And that's with 4 RNGs with unlocked ranged and abilities and 4-5 BLMs with unlocked magic and INT. How many do people usually do this zone with?
We fucked around with Mad Bomber and the Soulflayer Slot NM tho as well as killed a few gears, so we feel we would have had enough time if we skipped over those and just went straight for the boss.
Well, that's why you don't need 50 mins =POriginally Posted by Xerlic
If I had wanted to, I could have pushed us to LBC with about 42 minutes, wish I had; we hung around for some more equipment and stat cells.
The two times my LS has killed it, we had 16 and 18 people, and took right at 40 and 35 minutes respectively.Originally Posted by Wulfgang
Both kills we left the Salvage with only about a minute left on the clock. As for damage, we used RNG, SAM, and MNK to make Distortion/Darkness and 3-4 BLMs bursting heavy Ice spells. In between the skillchains, we just had the BLMs continue nuking and DoTing it continually.
So you had no problem with feeding it all that TP? Or were you using Sleep potions or somethingOriginally Posted by Therin

Because my group just did this, and the few melee we had on it made it SPAM its TP moves (not HM since we positioned it right).
Next time, not going after boss unless we have a good amount of smns or blms. (didnt have a single rng, blm, or smn this time).
