therin how many people do you enter with for the boss? we had 8 people and got to 3rd floor tonight, was first try for all members except for me.. think we can make it up faster though next time

quick question about madbomber which i jus thought of now... can he pop after opening certain doors? i only checked him initially when we passed by his rooms, but didnt check after i had opened the final door...

and got to boss with like 25min?

Killed in about 10min with 3 death or so and had 15min left

Just did remnants, didn't get the win but was shocked to see my Lolpup get some debuffs off on the MB (w/o tranquilizer). plus i'm sure the flashes/nukes helped as well.

So you had no problem with feeding it all that TP? Or were you using Sleep potions or something

Our RNG continuously shot at it and our MNKs ran in to build 100% TP, and then moved out until someone was ready to SC with.

SAMs obviously don't need to TP much, just a little bit and use Meditate to fill in the gaps.

It does use Discharge and Inertia Stream a lot, but they're not that devastating, and with our tank party setup it's more annoying than dangerous (you just have to make sure you're quick on erases).

Our tank party setup is:

PLD/NIN
PLD/NIN
WHM/BLM
RDM/WHM
BRD/WHM
DRG/WHM

Three people with Erase, and plenty of Refresh/Curing. The PLDs can pretty much cure themselves after AoE. As far as I remember we've never had MP problems. Just make sure you unlock everything.

I had 16 people and 18 people for our two wins. We've only made three serious attempts to take down LBC, and the first time we went for the boss we had 14 people and got it to 21% before timing out (got hit with a bunch of HM because we didn't know how to avoid it at that time, so we had to do too much recovery, couldn't pull it off in the time remaining so we just Firefly'd out in order to get people R3's. Plus our PLDs were subbing WAR, which was one of the big changes I made in strategy).

As for Mad Bomber, we've tried it every time we've been there. We've never killed it, it takes a while and always blows up for us before we take it down enough. It's a pretty big waste of time, I don't think I'm going to bother pulling it again until we do farming runs and actually have enough cells to take it down in time. Takes too much buffer time out of an LBC run, in my opinion. An extra five minutes would be a nice amount of wiggle-room.

I like to add that if you are serious about fighting the boss, be sure to get your BLMs Vellum chips to get rid of the -30 INT limitation, an Incus for elemental staves, and Virgo chips for earrings and rings. Get some darkness skillchains set up and you can get damage like this:

During the lull, I also used Blizzard I, II, and III for a little extra damage. Just be very careful not to pull hate.

Yeah a good SA skillchain with 3-4 bursts can take off probably 8-10% of the thing's life.

Another failed attempt. We lost alot of time due to confusion in paths and a near-wipe with scorpions (our MNK pulled too many of them, ran off, etc.)

However, we learned some things (yet again)

We killed the chariot and numerous gears (save the last 3) on the 4th floor. Killing the chariot and/or gears does *something*. Everyone noticed less TP spam, but more noticeable was increased damage:

I don't know about the rest of the numbers you posted, but 550 Chi Blast is definitely a huge gain over what our MNKs were seeing.

I told this to Ayn via privmsg, but just to have it on the forums, his numbers look like absolutely normal damage to me.

For the record, my chi blasts were doing 500+ w/o killing any gears on the way up either, so that isn't special.

Ours were doing around 250ish fully boosted with MND cell unlocked.

He bring his AF1 gloves to boost in? I peaked at about 700; the boss does have resistance to spiritual damage.
