I'll have our RNG widescan for Mad Bomber. The last time we did Bhaflau he was actually up, but we didn't go after him.

So... We've successfuly popped the Rampart on 2nd floor since we started doing the melee last hit on melee weak / magic last hit on magic weak - but during the battle with the swarm of bees... We have yet to see the NM... -.-
so... i guess the question is--- is there any specific thing you have to do to pop him? Like... does someone need to just stand n voke the door over n over n not fight bees or something? Or do u have to give it TP with baby nukes?
Any ideas?
Im having trouble believing that after going through the whole process of killing 4 flans, that the NM from the rampart is random....
nigga hit me back.
I don't see any reason why it would be any less random than Gate Widow, which as we know is really fucking random considering lots of people go 0/100 with ever seeing it pop.
I know its a retarded idea, but could the direction the rampart face influence what pop (or doesnt pop)? Make him face the star of the day or w/e. A pure random to determine pop rate would be evil (not that I doubt SE's ability to make shitty random)Originally Posted by divisortheory
you cant aim the rampart. it stays in one place facing one direction.
Sorry to reply late, however our ls timed mad bomber and it can self-destruct as fast as 60 seconds.Originally Posted by Sagacious Sundi

Not sure if it was said, but someone (Arthars) told me ingame that rampart on 2nd floor pop only when all 4 are killed on "angry" mode. Using WS or magic might make them go back to normal, so normal attack only.
Set everyone up in a single-file line, press up against the wall and run along the perimeter of the chariot's room behind the pillars. Unless something stops at the very edge of its "wander zone," you should be able to avoid the gears and the chariot with this method.Edit: how did you get past the room with the Chariot and Gears(multiple)? Can you sneak/invis or had to MGS / Sac pull it?
Also, I timed a gear tonight from the moment I heard the twang of the bowstring to the moment I saw the gear's HP bar hit 0%: 59 seconds.![]()
so to recap -
Floor 1: Mad bomber killed within 60 seconds.
Floor 2: Kill flans weak to melee with melee, kill flans weak to magic with magic (simple test to see which does more at start - this just keeps working for us.. cant imagine it's always luck).
Floor 3:
Floor 4: Kill all 10 gears.
yes, no?
If the condition here is also a time-limit as people in previous posts indicate it could be, it's possible you're always meeting the limit simply by matching your damage to their respective weaknesses. Also, it seems like regular-looking flan are the ones weak to magic, while scrunched-face flan are the ones weak to melee. Is that not always the case in this zone?Originally Posted by Judah
find it unrealistic its time.. seeing we been doing salvage with 8-10 people... if people with 18 cant get it.... . . . . .
Also, when they're magic weak, we usually do most of the damage with melee, and just do the kill with magic-- since we don't usually take alot of blms with us-- (or no blms happen to be on when we go,) so I really don't think it's time related at all. Just kill with magic when it's weak to magic (ninjitsu works for this too), kill with melee when it's weak to melee.
thx wife
ok some questions about the flans..
we tried this and let the blm kill the first flan that took more magic damage, but it was at 1%.. we had a blu finish it off with heatbreath cause our 1 blm was being eaten.. continued to kill the rest of the flans with their respective weakness but no pop
so does bluemagic not work?
we woulda been able to try again but our next run the thf killed the first flan with sharkbite, so couldnt test for sure..
to confirm, you just mean the finishing blow needs to be done with either magic or melee right?
lastly.. where does the rampart pop for you? in the room of the last killed flan? or any of the 4 rooms regardless which order you killed them...
We haven't used bluemagic on any of our runs, but afiak some bluemagic is techinically physical damage, isn't it? Like some BPs? So I'd assume that the spell that your BLU used was one of those.
Yes, the finishing blow needs to be done with either magic or melee (whichever it's weak to.) Hasn't failed for us yet, regardless of how fast/slow we kill them.
The rampart always pops in the room where we kill the last flan.
If we go with the theory that the pop condition for the ramparts if that you have to kill the PHs within 60seconds (true for mad bomber and possibly 2nd floor/4th floor)
then for 3rd floor, maybe we have to clear a room killing all the gears within 60 seconds as well OR just the 3-gears in either room (or both rooms). Both rooms can be accessed simultaneously.
I know that some are going with 2nd floor theory that you have to kill the respective flans with their weakness but maybe by doing so, you were also able to kill within 60 seconds.
4th floor is confirmed that you have to clear all the gears without them teleporting away within 60 seconds, not sure if they warp after 60 seconds of combat though.
Except--- we didn't kill within 60 seconds, no way. We had 10 people the first time we did it, and the melee weren't doing much damage on the ones weak to magic. Again, we only did final blow with magic, because we don't go in heavy on mages.
Regarding the Flans:
The best we can do is disprove as many theories as possible.
According to info in this thread, The 2nd floor Rampart both HAS and HAS NOT popped when any of these listed below occur:
1. Group killed all 4 flans using strictly melee damage
2. Taking longer than 60 seconds per flan
3. Taking less than 60 seconds per flan
4. Killshot on North/South was BLM, no nukes were used on West/East
5. Killed in a certain order
Ruling these out as pop conditions, there's not much left to go with.
I have one to go by.Originally Posted by Faranim

it does make sense. You need to be lucky that Mad Bomber is up ~.~
Well, I'll post if our theory stops working, but it's worked 100% of the time so far.
