i dont even know where to begin with this.... but i'll try to keep it short

basically.. we finally managed to down LBC after much struggling with it using different strategies and party setups and what not...

anyways the good news stops there...
with 2minutes left on the timer LBC dies and drops morrigans/ares pieces... we have 2 parties, and about 4 people dead, 1 of them being a party leader, (not the alliance leader)

all the people up for lotting were in the alliance leaders party, and i told him to just /acmd kick <member> to remove my party from the alliance, and i quickly raised a member who was up for lotting the ares body... basically the lotting party consisted of 4 people, and all had lotted when the 30s warning came up.. they could see the treasure pool, while the party that i was in which was removed from the alliance could no longer see the treasure pool

even though everyone had lotted, the items did not drop... what is strange is that even though i was talking in my own party chat, the other party (which was now no longer part of our alliance) could see what we were saying, and i could see what they were saying, in /p chat

we got booted shortly after and lost both items

called for a GM and SGM but they said they couldnt use our reimbursment tickets to get the items that we lost,

has anyone seen anything like this? where all members in a party with a treasure pool have lotted / passed , and the items remain there? GM said to submit a bug report, but pretty sure they wont do anything about it...

i know we should jus try to suck it up, and try to win again, since we've proved we can already do it, but with how shittastic our luck as been in salvage, our level of frustration with it has grown exponentially

    sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhh

We've seen something like that happen in Nyzul isle quite a few times, since we would go as 2 teams and stay in alliance just to chat. Every single time the alliance leader would kick the other party from alliance we would still be able to see each other's PT chat until the kicked party did an /amcd leave as well.

the leader of the second party was dead, and so were the other whitemages... i only had enough time to raise the 1 person lotting ares body and had the alliance leader kick the dead party leader out ........

i submitted a bug report. but i doubt i'll be contacted with anything.. the GM said if the developers agree its a game error, then he can reimburse our items... but thats a bit far-fetched

    so retarded =/

I've always been scared to mess with alliances when trying to distribute loot. I normally would just tell everyone dead and not lotting to DC themselves assuming a party leader is dead and can't just kick people. Then again we also make it mandatory to have RR up so we usually don't have those sorts of problems.

I was under the impression that once an alliance breaks, the treasure pool gets lost.

if you use the menu, your only option is to dissolve the alliance, and yes that will destroy all items in the treasure pool

however, /acmd works just like /pcmd and you're able to remove entire parties from the alliance, while keeping "alliance" status. (yellow and white dot remains) so the items in the treasure pool remain

ive used this method of removing parties in an alliance many times myself and havnt had any problems with it

we know its a glitch because even though there was only 1 remaining party, the 2 parties could see each others chats =/

    /stabs SE in the face

Am I the only one who tells people to homepoint if a good item drops within the last few moments of time?

What's better, 10 mins of exp or wasting 100 mins x how many times you have to do salvage over again to get your itams?

    Ah well either way sucks.

you know that didnt even cross my mind.. and i dont doubt for a second my group wouldnt have homepointed... i just never thought to ask

i realized today i had an r2 rod in my inventory and could have gotten the second party leader up...

idk i guess we were all so shocked with winning / getting awesome drops, that we werent thinking straight =/ (i know other groups have beaten this guy a million times, but it was our first time, and was a major step for us due to struggling in almost every aspect of salvage)

    hindsight 20/20 etc

    anyways thanks for your comments - sorry for the longer than intended rant D;

If the people can't afford reraise when good items drop they can afford to homepoint.

Don't forget that you can only carry a max of 3 reraise items in your inventory due to rare/ex limitations. In bhaflau you'll likely have a head cell unlocked, but in other zones you almost definitely won't.

If you wanna get technical, 4: http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/9200

Plus if a few people have earrings unlocked they could use those (RR1 > no RR)

Actually now, it's unlimited if you use Scapegoats.

Nope. Our first kill had alot of people HPing to avoid the BS too.

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune, Safer, but grats on finally taking down LBC.

After about 3 official boss runs and not farming We finally beat LBC We got jipped as the Thf died on the final Skill chain(if it even has an effect on drops)We got double Bodb's crown. Which sux for all that effort. We usually go with 8 and get it down toa bout 20% but yesterday we lucked out and actually had a few others show up.

    Party set up

    War/Sam
    Rng/War
    Mnk/War
    Thf/Sam
    Blm/whm x3
    Pld/Nin (tank for lbc)
    Rdm/whm
    Whm/???

We got jipped on max MP drops so the only ones that had it were PLD, RDM,WHM

It was still a little bit hard considering we are straight tanking with a pld but its not so much hard as it is alot of focus, we got a little unlucky with homing missile but only one or two deaths came out of it since the pld figured out how to get hate back fairly fast. Mages were safe considering RNG was the other one with hate. (as for homing missile aoe, It's pretty damn far but from what i've seen its Conal to the front i've been hit more than half way across the room if i'm standing in front. Now on to another zone to finish our Mnk/Nin/Sam feet and the Crowns

It's AoE centered on the target, unlike the other AoE WS's it uses, and has a larger range. It's not that bad of an idea if you're straight tanking like that to keep RNGs, BLMs, and WHMs more than 10.0 away from LBC but close enough to the tank so they get their hate reset on Homing Missle too. Also as a rule he can only use Homing Missle if he's facing his target, so if you position yourself on the sides and move when he turns, you won't have to deal with it. Only problem with that is needing to erase the tanks quickly if they are bound.
