Yeah its pretty noticeable. We have melee run into ws and you'll notice the damage starting high and decreasing greatly. An example of last night

Steel Cyclone to the LBC 1374 (soilders drink) when he was around 90%

    LBC 70%ish 765

    LBC 40%ish around 450ish

    LBC 25%ish about 300ish

LBC 5%ish 650 (Mighty strikes however)

All had same tp return of 17%, so they were all full hits even though it was a 1 hit ws.

I'll have to pay attention to that in the future, if it's true though I wonder if it's a DEF boost or a straight damage reduction. If it's a straight damage reduction I would think Tomahawk or something might be able to remove it. It won't take much DEF for the mob to hit the cap anyway, so I'd be surprised if that's all it is, assuming your numbers are correct and it wasn't just a coincidence that the WS just kept getting weaker.

Anyway, assuming that's true, thanks for actually providing at valid reason to my original question about destroyers.

Drk had noticed an increase in restance in stuff like abs spells. In the begining he landed all of them easily but in the end he couldnt land them as easily.

If he's just getting stronger to absolutely everything as his HP goes down, I wonder if his level could be going up. Seems like there's at least 1 mob in every the old FF game whose level goes up as you fight it.

Thats possible as well, the only time I ever tanked him I was on Pld and I didnt notice a damage increase. I'll have to ask our mnks next time to see if his attack also goes up closer to death like his def & resistance goes up.

You dont have to be a tank to see that. In the low % I get smacked through SS for like 400 dmg.

And I agree with wafik. Enough LBC talk, its been beat to death and theres nothing new about it.

It's so close as to be negligible. Assuming that pDIF = 1.0 (it's actually less against LBC with full-haste, so destroyers are strictly BETTER than the analysis below), a crit is a free hit.

Since each hit will be giving about 6.3~ TP, 630 TP for 106 hits worth of damage, in 100 rounds of combat (580 seconds)

Sainti will reduce the TP given to 5.9~ TP, 625.4 TP for 106 hits worth of damage, in 106 rounds of combat (620 seconds)

So you're giving the chariot less than 5 TP over 10 minutes in order to accelerate your damage by ~6.5%

Frankly, you can used whatever you want because our first win was with a Destroyer MNK with arhat gi but that took us around 30min to beat. The most important things are steady damage, haste, dots and debuffs. It took couple of tries to iron out the bumps of MNK tanking.

Initially, we had a PLD as standby that cures the MNK throughout the fight and flashs LBC when it does missile and tank till the MNK gets hate again. Which helped us quite a bit.

    Meh, LBC is gay.

Every time we fight it, it uses a Homing Missile within milliseconds after turning, so even tho we've already started moving to the side directly after it turns, it still uses it, and we can't get hate back easy enough.

    Wiped again @ 40%.

We're trying PLD/NIN solo tank next time, at least a PLD can get hate back after a Missile.

And no one's gonna go test that out for a while I'm sure, so that leaves nothing lol.

Our group has been able to consistently get LBC down to around 25% in our last 3 runs before we run out of time.

We use a pld/war tank, and either rngs or close combat melee with a hit and run style depending on how bad the mp situation is.

I've read about how well mnk/nin's seem to work, but I didn't want to drastically alter our strategy since we are so close already to a win.
We normally reach the boss with 30 minutes remaining, and I'm hoping to find a way to boost that time up to 40minutes.

On floor 1, we head straight to moths, killing only bifrons and trolls along the way, then we leave 1 person at the porter and head back to clear out the rest of the mobs. This takes around 35minutes.

When backtracking, do other groups kill every single bug on the first floor, or just the ones in the large room rectangular room?

On floor 2 we kill all the enemies from one of the 4 paths, we usually take the NE path. This takes around 30minutes.

On floor 3 we send our thf directly to the teleport and are usually able to kill around 4 mobs in that time. Takes us around 5minutes to get past the 3rd and 4th floors, leaving us with 30minutes for the boss.

From looking at the previous posts, it seems like people spend more time than we do on the 3rd floor, and possibly less time on the second floor.

Are there certain mobs on the second floor that should be skipped entirely on any given path?

we do the first floor the same way.. typically we kill all the wamouracampa.. they're squishy and since most people have weapons by that point, they die really fast

second floor, after clearing the 4 flans, i'll decide which path to take.. if we are low on magic/SJ abilities, i woulda saved some from the previous fights and hope that the socket is up ... being able to duplicate what you have on 1 mob is an extreme time saver, and you should use it whenever possible

typically we go south anyways (only go north if you dont need any more magic cells), so while i run to the portal , the group usually clears out 1 or 2 trolls/scorpions for random drops -- there is no reason to farm all the mobs on this floor, you should have everything you need already minus some magic/SJ , or some hp/mp, but usually its not an issue

on the third floor, i run straight for the porter while everyone fights flans .. i usually try to limit it to 4 flans before porting up, but more often than not its enough to give us the extra magic / ja / sj cells we've been needing (my group is larger than most people's so we have to accomodate for that)

4th floor we jus send 1 person to run while everyone else buffs at the start

    if we've been good, that gives us 40+min for the boss... we're still trying to improve our strategy since for us, we've killed him 2x, but keep timing out lately idk why D;

25-30 minutes is usually a good range to get to the boss on.

What set up do you usually go with?

last night we had 15 people, but I took us through the NE path on the second floor after we only had 3 subjobs, which was definitely a mistake because those maps show W path as being for subjob, so I messed up on that one.

    pld/war
    whm
    rdm
    brd/whm
    nin/war
    smn

    whm
    rdm
    blm
    mnk
    pup
    thf

    rng
    rng
    rng

Above reflects who got subjob cells. Thing is we give LBC a ton of tp so there are numerous AOE attacks so it is hard to maintain consistant damage over the whole 30minutes.

Anyways I know people dont want to talk about the LBC fight anymore so I was just looking for some ways to get about 10minutes more for the boss fight.

Take less people and farm less cells. We get to the top with 40-50 minutes remaining using 7-10 people.
