Salvage: Arrapago Remnants

We did the South path this time and killed 2nd floor Qiqirn Astrologer and 3rd and 4th floor Qiqirn Treasure Hunter.

They all dropped cells.

One thing that was interesting, however, is that when we opened the door to the teleporter on the 5th Floor, an Archaic Chariot popped in the big room to the east, and a Qiqirn Astrologer popped in the room directly south of us. Is it possible that there is stuff on other floors that doesn't pop until you open the teleporter doors?

That fits. 1st floor rampart maybe pops when you open the door? The 2nd and 3rd and 4th floor ones definitely pop when you open the door.

The 5th floor one was definitely NOT up before the door was opened. Perhaps the chariot and qq on that floor drop level 35 items?

Sykes, the 3rd floor Qiqirn TH didn't drop anything, no cells. Which most likely means it does drop armor, just not 100%. Think Hammerblow in Silver Seas. The Rampart on the first floor pops before you open any of the doors, didn't we think it was the gespents that triggered it? Or maybe a certain number of merrow/lamia. Don't want to touch that again anyhow, the cactuar just rapes. Maybe if we get lucky on the magic cells and have some BLMs with magic unlocked it wouldn't be so bad though.

Also on a funny note, a thief with us was able to steal a cumulus cell from the 4th floor Qiqirn TH. I'm not sure if he tried on other Qiqirns or not, or other mobs. Might be interesting if the key to making this zone easier is having steal heh.

Another thing to note is that the Qiqirns all resist stun, the astrologer and the treasure hunters.

I think in order to confirm or disconfirm if any of the NMs lying around in arrapago are the NMs that drop Lv35 we need more people to kill them numerous times considering the low drop rate of Lv35 gear. My LS has killed 1st floor cactaur NM, 3rd floor north QQ and 4th floor north QQ only got stat cells. It would kinda make sense if the NMs are just up and about to be farmed in arrapago since it takes the longest to unlock stuff.

My LS is also 0/3 on Hammerblow in Silver Seas, 1/6 on Gate Widow for Marduk pants so I'm leaning towards a drop rate of 10-20% (TH affect maybe?).

Some mobs drop armor and cells, but that's often just the lvl15 stuff that is common drops from everything in a zone. My reasoning in thinking that the south 3rd floor Qiqirn probably drops some lvl35 gear is that every other NM in Arrapago that drops cells, drops them 100%, and they drop several cells. So a NM that drops nothing seems unlikely, and I don't think any zone had NMs that only have a chance drop of lvl15 gear. Usually most NMs that drop lvl15 gear drop it 100%, and the ones that drop lvl35 gear only drop it occasionally.

Also since the 4th floor Qiqirn TH on the south side dropped cells, I wonder if the north side NM drops armor. Since they seem to like limiting how much armor you can farm in a single run.

Oh, one other thing we forgot to mention. On the fifth floor we let the ramparts do reinforcements and we killed about 3 devil mantas and 1 demonic pugil, but there was nothing special about any of them. We didn't see an oboron though.

I stole a Cumulus Cell from the Treasure Hunter ;p At first I didn't think anything of it, but I wonder if that somehow changes them like with BB.

Edit: I see Sci mentioned that above. No, I didn't try to steal on treasure hunters and had only used it to get rid of the stupid spikes on previous mobs. Next time I can try to save my timers for Treasure Hunters or something.

Then what in the zone is left? Most mobs in the dats have been killed now, so even though this zone is a pain, it seems to be more straightfoward than most of the others. I think the only non qiqirn mobs that might drop armor could be Orobon and 5th floor Archaic Chariot. It just seems more likely that the appropriate Qiqirns drop lvl35 armor. I figure enough people will be pretty interested in this zone soon enough though, someone just needs to find the Macha's Coat there and people will spam it.

Report on Aircommand's site has the boss info on it. My JP sucks but I think it's something like "Mortal Revolution" and it's an AoE ranged attack (600ish) + Stun + Knockback + Absorb.

Also they claim you open the door you need to clear everything but the Ramparts (Gear and Gears mob, I think there are 8 of them). This actually contradicts a previous claim on that website that says some JP group killed everything on that floor and it didn't open (I have a hard time believing someone cleared the entire 6th floor 3 weeks ago though).

Absorb, meaning whatever damage it does to you it with that AoE move, it converts into HP?

Quick question: We have yet to try Arrapago, are the cell drops you posted avearage/above average/below average based on your experience?
