But that chatlog is scrolled up, it don't think it's a pushover. Everyone's HP/MP is also in unlocked status, which leads me to believe they're outside and no longer in a remnants zone.

If its special WS is really just 600 damage + stun, that sounds pushovery to me, regardless of whether that particular group is in the zone or not or what their HP/MP or weakened status is.

Dropped off of the 3f south QQTH. 2f QQA and 4f QQTH just dropped cells.

This is our first arrapago run since Muze quit the game and stopped running salvage. 1/1 on a 35 piece is pretty nice. =x Feel free to laugh at dead Map.

Further proof that Taru sacrifice is a form of TH in itself.

Did they ninja the drop rates or something? Why is everyone getting drops all of a sudden? lol. This is like 5 arrapago drops in 3 days or some shit.

I think a ninja update isn't out of the question, especially if the reports on Aircommand's site about Zham NMs is true. If the frog NM is "just there sometimes" when you reach certain floors, you'd think people would have seen it prior to a couple days ago. I think it's likely they tweaked certain zones.

Either way, very cool to see everyone starting to get pieces out.

Speaking of which, Aircommand now has 2 "confirmed" (meaning people say it personally happened to them, but no screenshots) reports of the 4th floor frog being up when reaching 4th floor in under 45 minutes. I may test this tomorrow night by just racing to 4th floor without killing anything.

even though my group has pretty much gotten shafted in every zone we've been to , i think seeing other people get drops will help motivate them and give them a feeling that getting salvage sets isnt really all that bad =/

    still /emo about it though

Yea seeing Ruke's group get the pants motivated us to do 2 runs this week when mostly we've been in Nyzul since the patch.

Yar I don't beleive they've been ninja changed, it's more of a chain reaction.

    Group 1 kills <monsters> gets <drops>

    Inspires 15 groups to go.

Out of those 15, 1 will get a drop or 7(hi RUKE)

    Inspires 15 groups to go.

    etc

So at the end you have a bunch of groups attempting the same things over and over, and by the laws of statistics, you're bound to get something.

After the LBC spamming and the pantsening of Aurik, we'll be heading back to Arrapago for the rest of it.

Personally, after looking back, nothing in arrapago is really that deadly/hits uncontrollably hard. The zone entirely was designed to be done semi-nude, and if you're fully geared it'd have been a pushover (although I'd rather them have just made NM's more difficult than limit pathos all the way down) I as a thief did not see a single weapon cell drop on the last 2 runs, so I was virtually useless, however I do serve a great purpose, that being QQ stealer, on each floor I stole a Dupli/Cumulous cell off the QQ's.

The thing is, if this forum is any indication then my post about it possibly dropping inspired one group to go, they got the drop and posted screenshot, that inspired maybe 5 groups to go, two of which also got a drop. But 2-3 others got QQTH and QQA drops as well. Either we've just been reallllllly lucky the past few days, realllllly unlucky the first few weeks, or the drop rate is changed. I'm banking on either option 1 or option 2, but I definitely don't think that drop rate over past 1 week is equal to drop rate over previous 2 months. Even if the difference is the result of a fluke. Didn't we add up statistics earlier in the thread and find out that people were like a whopping grand total of 4/70 or something stupid? Then all of a sudden 5-6 new drops come out in a week.

When we took that early tally we were something stupid like 2 for 70 or so between the 4-5 groups that responded. I have no idea if they fixed the drop rate or we just saw extremely bad luck at the beginning and extremely great luck the last few days, but as long as going forward we see anything better than the first month's drop rates then I am quite happy.

We're still 0/149075938675386143 on the QQs.

I think the Chariot has a high drop rate, personally. As I said, we're 1/3, and Ruke's group probably hasn't killed it a lot either. It's deep in the zone so you really need to know what you're doing to farm it.

Oh and we killed the fat Bhoot last night, it took like 10-15 minutes to kill with 2 mnk + 1 thf with no weapons, and it perditioned one of the monks at 90% so basically I was the sole damage for a long time.

You can probably outrun perdition btw, it has a long windup like throat stab.

It hits like a fucking truck (300~), but does NOT double attack, so with elegy, march, haste you can get 100% utsusemi coverage and straight tank it. You MUST have a stunner for this, it casts blizzaga3 often and has about 50% fastcast. Only dropped a praecipitatio cell for us.

I have a new idea about farming the dupecell soulflayer on floor2. If you pop the door and steal a subjob from the QQA, and give it to your main tank, who also has magic unlocked, then you can probably blinktank him without a problem. It requires at least 4 magic cells tho (whm rdm brd mnk), so it's probably still not worth it.

When my group went on our run, the drops were completely different than what I anticipated on these forums (macha aside). Our set up was:

    mnk/mnk/mnk/rdm/whm/thf
    blm/blm/blm/rdm/whm/rng

I was worried from reports that our 8 mage set up (with one mnk needing magic from /nin) would condemn us due to poor drops. Much to my surprise by the third floor we were throwing away the magic cells. First floor we cleared all of SE, half of NE, and the lamia in nw/sw. We spent much longer on this floor than I wanted (40 minutes), but unlocked magic for all our mages except the second whm and blm. The melee lamia seemed to be dropping magic cells as well. The one Qutrub we aggro'd on accident dropped a weapon.

Zoned up to a regretable Princess Pudding, who I cannot emphasize enough to skip unless you have the level 25/15 body pieces. Clearing the room finished us on magic/mp cells, and we killed QQA with ease. By the third floor we were killing fast, and cleared everything on the west path except the Psycheflayers. We got another 4 weapon amongst the 6 or 7 Qutrub, to the point that our blms were using elemental staves. Sent our blms ahead to aggro QQTH with a large volley of nukes while the other group waited on the other side of the psycheflayers in the south room. Killed him with aggroing a few flayers, but the flayers had as hard a time keeping up with us, as we did keeping up with QQTH. Zoned up to final floor, killed a few gears and then the other QQTH. Time ran out as we pulled the nm psycheflayer.

I can't say why our drop rates seem higher than expected. We gave our thf his thf knife pretty early, in the unlikely event that makes a descernable difference. Perhaps set up effects drops. Our mage heavy set up yielded more magic than we could make use of, but only got a handful of ability cells, and only 1 hp cell.

was just luck. If you read earlier on in this thread, you'll see we got an extremely lucky run once where just about 70% of everything dropped a cell, and nobody was nude on the last floor, which contrasts our last run where alot of us were still pretty naked.

Last time we attempted this with 2 mnk/war and they died to ectomash for 1300+ damage. I guess really do need /nin for this and the psychflayer. Perdition is definitely stunnable btw. We were able to stun that but mnks still died to Ectomash.

For the Bhoot, gravity works wonders. I was kiting it for a while on BLM, but then learned that Ectosmash has quite a long range.

At least kiting it around takes out the strong melee hits. And you can run out of range of the bigger spells. If the zone wasn't so stingy on SJ cells, BLM/NIN would make it a joke to kill.
