It can be essentially held straight-up forever with blm rdm brd whm mnk/nin, I had no problems with shadows and got hit maybe 5-10 times over the course of 10+ minutes.

Drop rate on cells still blows ass. Just went 1/6 on ability cells on 1F, 2/6 magic cells, and 0/7 weapons. Failed steal on the SJ cell, and proceeded to get our asses handed to us the entire rest of the zone.
Just did this zone for the first time.. Reprobation from the large Psycheflayer wiped all reraise, followed by a mind blast and we had to exit the zone early.. Any idea what the range is on Reprobation?
If you're getting pooned by the soulflayer/bhoot, you can always have someone trip the porter.
And yea getting dorked on cells in this zone sucks. Last time we went we killed ~12 qutrubs and got zero weapons.
Anyone tried Qutrubs in the far south of 3rd floor (in the rectangular room before porter)? Wonder if that drop rate is higher.
They were about as shitty as anywhere else in the zone when we tried.
Last run we got 4 weapons in SW 2nd floor room, run before that got 3 weapons in just there.
All the runs before that, none or not alot, especially when we had people that needed weapons. lol
We got the chariot to like 45% and wiped unfortunately. We only had 5 minutes left when we engaged, so we were really rushing. That being said, learned a few things.
1) You don't have to kill the Rampart. It apparently doesn't link with the chariot. I used PD and Flee, then pulled the chariot and fleed around the side and snuk by the rampart so it wouldn't aggro, and I managed to get the chariot to follow me all the way into the room with the porter, with the rampart never aggroing.
2) Three Blizz IVs in a row each did under 100 damage. Is this just because we didn't have INT cells or something? Or are these chariots really strong against magic?
3) Most of the AoEs are frontal. I honestly had no idea chariots worked like this. Is this maybe specific to non-NM chariots, while NM chariots (bosses) work differently? Once we figured this out our NIN kept getting blasted by AoEs but none of the other melees were even getting touched by the AoEs as long as we stood behind.
A few questions
What do the Deviate Bhoots drop?
Are they easier than Psycheflayers?
What is the name of the Psycheflayers AoE Bio move? Is it stunnable?
Is Perdition stunnable?
MP, magic, I think? I've killed a few and posted the drops earlier in this thread.Originally Posted by divisortheory

Deviate Bhoots can drop Praecipitatio, Spissatus, Congestus, and I'm fairly sure Opacus. When I say fairly sure, I mean we already had the necessary JAs unlocked on the first/second floor that by the time we reached the 4th floor, any Opacus that may have dropped was given to a mage Job that didn't need it or the cell was discarded. My memory fails me, but upon asking the others, their first thought was Opacus too.Originally Posted by divisortheory

Bhoots are immensely easier than Psycheflayers. Banish + 2 Monks + Minuet = mega win. However, Bhoots are either very difficult or impossible to silence. Also, Finale is the only reliable dispel for Ice Spikes. If you have shadows, you can blink away all the single-target spells and just run from the -ga. Just make sure you have HP unlocked!
Tribulation. I don't think it can be stunned unless you anticipate it.
Never tried.
Try getting behind next time. We were all really surprised, but the AoEs weren't even touch us while the NIN was getting bombarded.Originally Posted by Almalexia
Can the gas be stunned, or are they also too fast? And is Perdition instant death or timed? Or unsure?Originally Posted by divisortheory
Tribulation is the like 37/tick bio.
Perdition is the instant death thru shadows
The bhoots -gas can be stunned but i believe they are fast cast.
Flayers -gas can be stunned unless it has immortal shield on.
gas can be stunned from bhoots, easily. single black mage can take care of that.
perdition can be stunned and most likely outrun. takes longer than throat stab to warm up
I think I have a method to seriously expedite farming on the first floor. Bear with me, it's wacky lol.
Have 2 ppl bring a hermes quencher with them. Camp in the hallway between east and west half of the map. Both people sneak and invis up and head towards the NW and SW prorters, respectively. Pop the Hermes Quencher in the square room before porter and flee to the opposite porter (SW guy flee to NW, NW guy flee to SW). Group in the middle simply pick off Lamia as they run by.
Edit: This would require having at least 1 magic or ability cell. preferably more. Perhaps it would be most useful after you have cleared 1-2 wings, as a way to quickly clear out the other two wings.
I didn't see it on the wiki so I'd figure I'd let people know here if they hadn't figured it out but the BRD Merrows can also drop magic. Had one drop on both the first and third floor.
