I got some questions regarding the second floor QQA. Every time we face him, he just takes off like a rocket for the telepad, and warps. We've been theorizing lately that we have to play a game of hate Tug-o-war between us, and "warp". An example of this would be the antlion in the CoP missions. If you provoke him or create another hate spike while he walks back to the ???, he'll turn around and fight some more.
Wondering if everyone else has the same experiance with him just darting off, or if it's just us.
We managed to kill him the first run there, when he glitched on the telepad, every other time he warped after casting one spell.

I'm still not sure why people say he's glitching on the telepad. If you leave him long enough, he'll warp. That's just how he works. He moves from A to B, stands around for a while fighting, then moves again, then stands around for a while. He doesn't warp until after he's been at the telepad for like 30-60 seconds.
You can get him standing on the edge of the telepad where he is in melee range of people standing below, but does not cast or melee himself.Originally Posted by divisortheory
We've had it happen a couple times, it's kinda neat. He just sits there and takes the punishment without doing anything.
He seems to stand around doing nothing a majority of the time.
The telepad also doesn't really have anything to do with it, I believe it's just time based. He's warped on before standing in the middle of the stairs.
Of course now that we know how to do this area he never really gets the opportunity to warp on us.
Yes, the telepad itself has no impact on him warping. I've also rarely seen him melee at all.
The time he "Glitched" on us though, he for sure did not warp at when he warped the other two times.
So, there has got to be something that makes him tic. Maybe warp is one of his spells that he can randomly cast, and just randomly casts it if you're not lucky. Maybe he only warps if he gets bored(not enough hate generated), ect. It does not seem to be an exact time like Mad bomber is.

Just got 2 Pileus Cells (MND) off of a 1st floor Qutrub. WTF!!
Was it in the hallway by itself or in the big room? I've only ever seen stat cells on first floor from mobs in hallways.
It was in a big room.Originally Posted by Not Kuno
The time that it takes him to warp definitely seems to vary.. One run we had one nin with JA's and one mnk with JA's and killed it easily.. Next run we had thf, nin, and 2 mnks with ja's both using hundred fists and it warped at 5%...

yayyyyyyy
14 minute kill with same strat as bhaflau really except you can do with 1 less WHM.
How much time did you have left going into the 7th floor?
Also, grats on downing another boss chariot. ('-' ))) ((( '-')
23 mins on the boss floor, 21.5mins after we buffed/rested MP, then started right after that.Originally Posted by Almalexia

23 minutes, 21 minutes @ pull, over 7 minutes remaining at kill.
Nice. How much time did you spend on each floor?
If you're going for boss, 1st floor take your time, about 40'ish mins or so, 2nd floor we go up at skeletons+Lamia, pull only what we need at that point, kill QQA for Stratus cells and steal from it.
Lvl3, kill what you need then go up. Thief should stand at porter and steal just before taking the group up (thief stand at porter, everyone else kill).
Skip all of lvl4, Skip all of lvl5. Actually you need to kill some stuff at level5 to clear the path for the person who's walking to the door, but yeah, will be like 3 gears at most.
Clear all of level6, Have approx 25 mins for boss, this should include "Fuck up" time. The run before it we had 19mins for the boss and aurik got 1 shotted by mortal revolution at the wrong moment, so when the 2nd monk went down we couldn't counter it's regen efficiently, we timed out at 1%![]()
2nd run was much more fluid on the boss, we added 1 more healer, 1 more BLM, and another mnk for farming purposes only.
This boss is such a jokeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee in comparison to the other ones. No hate reset, special is physical based, his weakness is blind, keep him blinded and he'll miss monks occasionally (mnk tanks usually are living on the line with their shadows). Mortal revolution isn't very accurate either as it's completely missed a bard and a mnk once "evades". I'm thinking the WS can double/triple attack due to the random damage fluctuation.
Boss is useless to go after unless you can get the 35 off Zhayolm. So far considering all the madames / 35 are under ??? status in Zhayolm, no point fighting the boss till you get somethign from Zhay. We just wanted to get this boss out of the way to prove how killable it is.
Any more info about mortal revolution? Was it ever blinked? I know it's blinkable in Nyzul isle assault, but it might require 4 shadows whcih obviously you didn't have. How much damage did it do usually? Even though you don't use a blm/nin kite/nuke strategy, can you imagine such a strategy working similar to LBC?
Definitely blinkable with less than 4 shadows, not sure exactly how many are required. Does quite a bit of damage if it does land though (easily 800+, potentially a helluva lot more).Originally Posted by divisortheory
Not really sure on the BLM kite strategy, I was only there for the 2nd kill (stupid RL commitments), and we didn't have to move him at all beyond the initial pull. I don't see why it wouldn't work, but BLMs would need to be pretty careful about staying at range so they don't get floored by Mortal Revolution.
On the first kill when both mnks went down, we started bouncing hate off eachother with BLM and other melee, got 4% down in that time. It's probably doable but as you know I'm not really a fan of blm/nin kiter strategy so I won't be testing it ;p
As for shadows, I'm sure 2+ shadows is fine. The WS isn't extremely accurate, it will miss occasionally so long as you keep the thing blinded. This is the one and only time I wish I didn't remove blind2, but if you have a nin with magic unlocked (and you use ninjas) I guess they can fit in to blind it.
