I tried to look at weiki yesterday for 15min trying to figure out how many pieces is now 2/3 discovered, then i found myself spacing out.

My mistake, the head piece does in fact drop in Arrapago, not Zhayolm as I originally posted. A LS mate brought the mention of my name in this thread to my attention after I had not read it in a few days. Forgot to double check it to make sure I had placed the info correctly. Fixed it, and sorry if it caused any confusion.Originally Posted by NynJa
you think it would be worthwhile to fill in the unknown armor drops based on their speculated drop area with the verification image ?
Or maybe put an X or something by them to indicate they're speculative.Originally Posted by NynJa
That's the entire reason for the existance of the verification image lol. Sounds like a good idea to me.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Unfortunately if you use {{verification}} in wiki it breaks the table (I think).
It would make more sense to provide a "key" or "legend" on the main Salvage page that says something like:
O - Confirmed Drop (Links to NM/mobs that drop gear, hopefully with pop conditions / how to get it)
X - Unconfirmed Drop
I was planning on filling them in and using a different background color for the unconfirmed drops, but then the Wiki table markup gave me a headache so I got lazy.
Can someone summarize a few "open questions" for me about this zone? I may be doing this tonight for the first time. If so I'm going to have around 5 or 6 MNKs, and I want to focus the entire run on answering open questions that people have, since very little focus is given to it I want it to be productive.
Well all depends on what you're gonna do, basically we need Rampart drop information, what item does the sabo drop, what item does the demonic rose drop, etc, (we fought the rose and he gave us nothing, and in the dats he is the lone mob that can pop off the door in his room).Originally Posted by divisortheory
The sabotender drops a bunch of cells I thought, it was on this thread somewhere.Originally Posted by Lordwafik
I think Arrapago is actually one of the more straightfoward zones, but it's just so stingy. I guess just a few things are unknown about it.
- The requirements to unlock the door to the Chariot.
- The special move of the Chariot.
- The drops from each of the Qiqirn NMs.
Only the third floor Qiqirn has dropped anything when killed, not sure which of the others have actually even been killed. I'd say ignore the ramparts and summons since they only seem to drop cells and are way too hard for what they drop.
Ack I shoulda rephrased it, I'm sure they also have a lottery or low % chance of an item dropping, if you can kill them, kill them and see what they drop. Alot of "named" mobs here drop shitloads of cells but none so far have dropped items, however the NM in lvl1 SS has a rare drop of Usukune hat so /shrug.Originally Posted by divisortheory

As far as reasonable goals, try to kill the Rat Treasure Hunter on the 4th floor. There is no pop condition, he is always up at the portal to the 5th floor. Supposedly drops gear but not confirmed.
Most of the other NMs have been killed enough without dropping equipment that I think they can be ruled out. But if you have time, here's a full list of potential candidates:
1. 1st Floor Sabotender - Never killed personally, no reported equipment drops?
2. 2nd Floor Rat Astrologer - Cells only?
3N. 3rd Floor Rat Treasure Hunter (North Path) - DEX and AGI Cells only?
3S. 3rd Floor Rat Treasure Hunter (South Path) - Never killed
4N. 4th Floor Rat Treasure Hunter (North Path) - Never killed personally but rumored to drop lv 35 gear (not 100% drop)
4S. 4th Floor Rat Treasure Hunter (North Path) - Never killed personally but rumored to drop lv 35 gear (not 100% drop)
5. 4th Floor Demonic Rose (Spawned by Rampart on North Path) - dropped equipment cells for us (Body and Legs?)
6. Other Mobs - No reported kills? I certainly don't know anything else
I think there's enough Qiqirns in the dats to account for all the lvl35 pieces that should drop in the zone, it just seems the point of killing the summoned NMs is actually cells. Crazy that the cactuar only drops cells and is so overpowered. And all the lvl15 pieces supposedly drop from gears and chariots on higher floors. It might be possible that the first floor rampart has a low drop rate of a certain lvl15 piece, but I've killed that 2 times now, and I believe other groups have as well and haven't seen a drop besides cells.Originally Posted by Lordwafik

I haven't seen any, but the BLM qiqirn on the 2nd floor has full power ga III magic, and can warp itself. So be prepared to interrupt those. The other Qiqirns are the sort that drop bombs and run, and I don't even know how to kill those things outside of salvage other than chasing them around forever. What are the suggested strategies for the Qiqirn?
How does this sound (in terms of exploration as well as being able to acquire enough cells to be effective on higher floors)
I was thinking:
First Floor
Clear NE wing
Clear SE wing
Exit through SE portal
Second Floor
Clear SE wing
Do not waste time with Princess Pudding
Exit through SE portal
Third Floor
Clear all mobs on East/North path since no information
Exit through N portal
Fourth Floor
Try to kill Qiqirn
Try to kill Demonic Rose
Proceed to Fifth floor
Fifth Floor
No information. Kill as much as possible.
Setup will probably be somethign along the lines of

Filled in my experience:
There are a total of 7 lv35 drops in this zone. If you think that the north/south rats on a single floor only have 1 armor drop, each "special" mob drops 1 lv35 armor, we have a 1:1 mapping.1. 1st Floor Sabotender - Never killed personally
2. 2nd Floor Rat Astrologer - Cells only
3. 3rd Floor Rat Treasure Hunter - Never killed, but apparently ares 35 body
4. 4th Floor Rat Treasure Hunter - Cells only (North)
5. 4th Floor Demonic Rose - Cells only
6. 5th Floor Orobon - Never killed
7. 6th floor Rat Treasure Hunter - Never killed
Is it known that there's only one Qiqirn on 3rd floor? In other words, am I wasting my time going East/North on 3rd floor?
Fixing your plan, DT:
First Floor
Clear SW wing; start with lamia until abil+magic, then clear everything until 2 weapons, then kill lamia only.
Clear SE wing
Exit through SE portal
Second Floor
Clear the 2 lamias
Clear bones until all tanks have HP
Exit center.
Third Floor
Go south, clear only lamia and enough SFs to unlock magic/MP
Fourth Floor
Kill gears for SJ
Try to kill Qiqirn
Fifth Floor
Kill the QQ astrologer (should be in the side-room)
Try to pop Orobon.
Add 2 bards. Go as:Setup will probably be somethign along the lines of

Mages need to bring hi-ethers and cookies.
Swap the mnk for a whm after magic #4 drops. Swap nin and mnk after nin gets SJ and magic.
You get NO subjobs until floor 4+, so you desperately need healers more than blms. Once this strategy proves useful, take excess blms and unlock them when magic is plentiful (floor 4+).
There are 2 rats on the 3rd floor: one north and one south. You can only ever spawn one.
