when we did this the first time we went the path with the massive amount of fomor in the first room and had a decent amount of stuff unlocked, 2nd time we went the way with the 7 linking fomors and didnt get a single magic cell until the last kill....we had some dead people because of the epic battles, then the NM popped and finished us off after, with about 8mins left in the zone. we only had 9 people, 4 mages who were completely useless. My least favorite zone by far

One time we went through the entire east path and got our first magic cell on the second-to-last mob, in case you were thinking that route might be better.

Also, I don't know if the cell-drop patterns of the other zones means you can bring a wider variety of jobs without problems, but after doing a few Silver Seas runs the general consensus was never to go with less than 4 native H2H users (NIN+2MNK+THF, or NIN+WAR+MNK+THF, etc), everyone brings hi pots and a few au laits, and there are i think 16 chests on the west path, most with 1-2 potions and 1-2 milks, so you can clear the first floor in a decent amount of time that way, even if you get unlucky on cells.
We had extremely bad luck with that, we had 4 native users, but the monster that dropped weapons and magic were the the ones in the room (the one with 7 fomors).

I just feel sorry for one dude in my LS, we all were saying how fun salvaged was (bhaflau) and we decided to do this for a change of pace, and he basically vowed never to do it again, lol .

Today's run felt very lolcop, but im glad to see that it was just bad luck on randomized drops. We'll wait that one out for later though, finish bhaflau first.

Ok, just tried the Silver Sea Remants boss "Long-Armed Chariot" for the 3rd time and lost once again.

What screws us everytime is when it charms the top 4 people on its hate list one after another in about 10seconds and then proceeds to rape the rest of the group. Now sleeping these members would seem like the obvious thing to do but apparently its impossible to sleep people who are charmed by it.

Something that occured to us while sitting there dead was whether the charm move "Brainjack" could be dispelled thus my question...

    Has anyone tried dispelling "Brainjack"?

IF it cannot, the solution is either figuring out how to deal with these charmed people, (bind, kite, pld(invincible?)) or since he seems to not use the move for about 90seconds after engaging perhaps zerging it via Dynamis Lord style?

Have the people likely to be charmed hit the / key after they engage the mob, so that they're pre-gravitied when they get charmed. Works on the boss corse in Appolyon SE.

Yeah, it works nice on UFOs, too. Much easier for a mage to sleep the entire group of charmed ppl when they can't run.

Well, we made another attempt on boss (not very well unlocked tonight).

It appears the move "Brainjack" overrides the walk command b/c everyone ran anyways...so that's out the door. We didn't manage to get dispel tested due to a rdm being dead and a melee forgot to take his buffs down before engaging so the other rdm's dispel just hit his buffs.
You also die really fast with mob+4 charmed people.

Well....right now we're down to praying charm works or perhaps charm can be avoided by kiting somehow. If those don't work this going to be quite a difficult boss to figure out and beat unless I'm missing something.

Well....there is one other way I did think of...

basically you have to make sure that anyone at the top of the hate list has no hand 2 hand skill or is thf or /thf and will simply pass on their hate.

Basically use these type of jobs:

    Pld/Nin (No weapon)
Rng/Nin (no weapons needed to do dmg, can stay out of aoe)
Thf or /thf (keep hate on others so they will not be charmed)
Blm (not very dangerous with staves...tho they will take shadows if they have high staff skill)

The boss itself is not that hard to tank so a couple people with /nin may suffice during the charm phase. Since the jobs that get charmed don't have any hand2hand skill they shouldn't be any threat to whoever tanks the boss during the charmed phase.

Mnks are great early on here, but on the boss their chi blast seems to be very weak and if they get charmed they destroy the group so they may be best saved until the end to zerg the last 10-15% with hundred fists.

Or perhaps they could /sam and hope to get subjob and ability and meditate for tp and just run in and ws every so often.

    Another attempt, another loss.

Finale/Dispel was tried in order to remove charm and failed.

People are just gonna have to use jobs that are not a threat while charmed as the people who fight him and are high on his hate list...

We did consider if we shadowbind him whether whoever goes close to him would just get charmed so we might be able to select just who gets charmed.

Our attempt tonight was shut down by getting no magic after like 18 fomors....that shit just doesn't fly well.

It appears that if you enter the Third Floor from the north side, the path south of the big room at (H-7) has a door that is locked by a door sealed by a mysterious force. There is a Devilet (Imp) that flies around at flee speed, as well as a ton of Archaic Gears. The Imp must be killed to unseal the door. During the fight, this NM flies away several times and must be repulled (kind of like the Shooting Down the Baron Assault).

Killing the Imp also caused the Slot to pop in that room.

Ok so it would seem as though the same jp ls that finished Bhaflau has finished Silver Seas. This might be wrong, its hard to tell with babelfished mumbojumbo but it looks like they got Ea's Breas, and Tsukikazu Sune-Ate from SS boss.

Best way to dodge charm = put 4 BLMs at the top of the hate list and try to have them kite off each other? Mages are usually pretty lame when charmed, as they only melee and can't do much with that.

Just won with 9 members. Dropped Ea's Brais x2.

EDIT: Posted an entry about the run. The basics were we went with... MNK MNK NIN BRD RDM BLM RNG RNG RNG. The main source of damage on the boss were the 3 RNGs. The key difference in our attempt from others was that we had no intention of killing it in 1 rush. We simply did what we could, had 2 members sac it with bio2 and poison2 to prevent HP recovery, then went back 5 minutes later for another damage rush. Pretty brutally efficient with 3 RNG/WARs.

Also the reason you cannot sleep anyone charmed by Brainjack is it's also 4hp/tick DoT in addition to charm.

How well does Resist Charm equipment, such as Merrow No. 17's Locket and Unyielding Ring work?

Perhaps that's how they intended for you to kill it. Doubtful, since that gear doesn't usually do shit, but it's worth a try.

I still haven't tried what kind of damage a BloodPact can do on this Boss ...

but if avatars can deal enough damage with a BP at start just before the 9Osec timeline where he will start charming people ... it might be a way to prevent him from charming people at least at the beginning since avatars can't be charmed ... and maybe after that if there's some hate reset after that move ...

I saw Nether Blast hit LBC (bhaflau) for 300+ ... how about other BPs ?

now gathering enough smns, get them all JA/mp/magic cells ... might be something to consider as a problem ^^
